I am not a coffee drinker, but of course if I am in Guatemala and doing a tour of a coffee farm in Antigua, then I need to try some coffee! This tour was super informative and entertaining. Our guide at Filadelfia Coffee Resort & Tours was funny and tried his best to help us understand the process of making Guatemala's famous coffee. Did you know that their largest export is to Japan? That's right, the Japanese love Guatemalan coffee. After hanging out at Filadelfia Coffee Resort & Tours for a bit, we then got on the road to Chiquimula where the group I was traveling with (Vivid Roots & Hopscotch the Globe) would be volunteering for the next few days.
On the way to Chiquimula, we stopped by San Antonio Aguas Calientes, which is a town in Guatemala famously responsible for creating most of the textiles and artisanal products. We went to the Mercado de Artesanias to see how the weavers create clothes, table clothes, hair tires, and more all by hand.
We then continued on our trek to Chiquimula, Guatemala! We finally arrived to our hotel, which was part of a horse ranch called Los Laureles (La Caballeriza). This hotel is beautiful by the way! If you want a relaxing retreat in Guatemala then hotel La Caballeriza is the place to go.

Tour includes a visit to the Colonial City of Antigua (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and 3 villages just outside the city: San Antonio Aguas Calientes, San Miguel Duenas and Ciudad Vieja. Antigua is a small city surrounded by volcanoes in southern Guatemala. It’s renowned for its Spanish colonial buildings, many of them restored following a 1773 earthquake that ended Antigua’s 200-year reign as Guatemala’s colonial capital. The Central Park (Parque Central) is the heart of the city, with the reconstructed fountain is acting as a popular gathering spot. To the north of the Central Park is the Arco de Santa Catalina, one of the most recognisable architectural landmarks of the city; Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala 2019. La cascada Sangre del Volcán Tacaná, el hogar del quetzal y el pavón - Chiapas.
El bosque de niebla del volcán Tacaná es el hogar de la ave más hermosa del mundo: el quetzal. Nos adentramos a una comunidad en las faldas del volcán para descubrir de la mano de los guías locales el hábitat del pavón y el quetzal, icónicas especies de Chiapas.
También caminamos por una cañada para apreciar la Sangre del Tacaná, una increíble cascada que se tiñe de rojo por los minerales del volcán.
Hay que llegar al municipio de Cacahoatán, y de ahí tomar una carretera que nos conduce entre plantas de café floreando, en algunos meses todas ellas estarán repletas del valioso fruto.
Después de 30 min de camino desde Cacahoatán fuimos recibidos en idioma Mam en la casa ejidal de Benito Juárez El Plan.

Existen miles de compañías para la renta de autos, entonces como saber cuál arrendadora de autos contratar y como rentar un coche barato? Bueno pues revisa este video donde te resuelvo todas esas dudas, te consejos para renta de auto y además te doy un par de tips para no pagar el seguro en la renta de auto!! ;)
En este vídeo no solo te platico cómo rentar un auto en México, sino en el mundo! Existen páginas web para la renta de carros donde no solo muestran una compañía arrendadora sino que comparar muchas compañías al mismo tiempo. Por ejemplo, en una misma página te dice cuánto cuesta un carro con Avis, con Hertz, con Europcar y así, con muchas más. Tu comparas los precios y así tu podrás rentar un carro barato!
Te recomiendo poner mucha atención en los seguros, pues en la renta de carros los seguros suelen ser lo más caro. Existen dos seguros importantes, el seguro de colisión y el seguro de daños a terceros. Es posible rentar un carro en México, y en el mundo, sin pagar ninguno de estos dos seguros, en el video te doy unos buenos tips evita estos seguros en la renta de auto.
Algunas veces no podrás evitar esos seguros en el mostrador, bueno, pues en ese caso te recomiendo hacer dos reservas para que ya estando en tu destino compares y rentes un carro al menor precio posible.
En el video te platico mi experiencia de cómo rentar un auto en Cancún, México, por $100 pesos al día.
Rentar un carro te da una libertad increíble al momento de un viaje, puedes viajar a la hora que quieras, cuando quieras y a donde quieras. No tengas miedo pues después de ver este video ya vas a saber cómo rentar un carro como un experto!

One day in the historic sanctuary of MachuPicchu. An excellent choice to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds Machupicchu.
MACHUPICCHU
• Early in the morning, we will start the journey to Machupicchu (the village of Aguas Calientes exactly) for our tour in the enigmatic citadel. The travel to MachuPicchu will be by train and bus.
• Return to Cusco city from Machupicchu at night. (The whole tour lasts all day from 6 to 8 pm.)
Description of the Travel Package -- Machupicchu one day
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to the railway station (train from Cusco city to Machupicchu). After four hours on the train, we will arrive in the station of Aguas Calientes (town where Machupicchu is located), where the guide will be waiting for us. We will board a bus and take a quick, 30-minute trip, climbing a zigzagging path, to the incredible Citadel of Machu Picchu where you will have a guided tour of the Sanctuary of Machupicchu. You will visit the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. The tour will take around two hours, after which you are free to stroll around the Citadel. Have lunch in a restaurant in Aguas Calientes or, if you want, in the hotel Sanctuary Lodge. Once we finish our tour of the enigmatic citadel of Machupicchu, we will return to Cusco in the afternoon.
