???????? El HERMOSO JEREZ de García Salinas, Zacatecas! | The ULTIMATE 2020 Mexico Travel Destination!

???????? JEREZ DE GARCÍA SALINAS, ZACATECAS, MEXICO - Welcome back to Zacatecas for another 2020 Mexico Travel video! We're back in the legendary Jerez de García Salinas! After many requests, I decided to revisit this awesome Pueblo Magico after first visiting here in May 2019. It's also Día de Muertos weekend in Mexico!

Jerez de García Salinas is a tiny pueblito about an hour's drive from Zacatecas, a state in north-central Mexico. As with all pueblos magicos, it's a special place full of colourful buildings, music, history and amazing food.

In this video I give you more reasons to add a place like Jerez de García Salinas to your plans for your Mexico trip. If you're planning on moving to Mexico, you'll have even fewer excuses to add it to your Mexico itinerary!

This video is also my FOUR YEAR TRAVEL ANNIVERSARY video, hence the feature-length. Yes, I've been travelling and working online for FOUR YEARS! In this video, we sample some brand new comida Mexicana (Mexican food) such as birria, as well as some burritos and amazing chocolate nieves at a place recommended by a subscriber. The other main topic of this video is around remembering to treasure special places and to remember we (well, some of us) are still able to travel to some beautiful locations in 2020, despite the pandemic.

1. San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato
2. San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas
3. Pátzcuaro, Michoacán
4. Taxco de Alarcón, Guerrero
5. Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua
6. Tequila, Jalisco
7. Jerez de García Salinas, Zacatecas
8. Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco
9. Chiapa de Corzo, Chiapas
10. Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato
11. Valle de Bravo, Estado de México
12. San Andrés y San Pedro Cholula, Puebla
13. San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco
14. Real de Catorce, San Luis Potosí
15. Mazamitla, Jalisco
16. Nochistlán de Mejía, Zacatecas
17. Tepoztlán, Morelos
18. Tequisquiapan, Querétaro
19. San Miguel el Alto, Jalisco
20. Zacatlán de las Manzanas, Puebla

One of our favorite places in Cozumel is Punta Sur Ecological Park. Take a look and you’ll see why! Punta Sur offers something for everyone – adventure, history, and culture, beach clubs, tequila tasting, and snorkeling! There is so much to see and learn here and is easy to do as a cruise ship excursion on your own. Just be wary of time so you aren’t one of those pier runners! There is limited cell service here but beach clubs do accept credit cards. Punta Sur is sure to surprise and delight you!

Best Barbacoa de Borrego restaurant experience in Hidalgo, Mexico!

Today, we are eating Barbacoa de Borrega! On our drive through Hidalgo we search for the best place to find this typical Sunday treat. And...we think we hit the jackpot!
Join us on our journey from Ixmiquilpan to Teotihuacan and enjoy a meal out, a meal that we will not forget. It was so good! Barbacoa de Borrego is a traditional way of slow cooking whole lambs in a pit wrapped in Agave leaves.

How to find your Indigenous Mexican Ancestry! (Quick two minute tutorial)

There's been a lot of emails coming through asking me for help regarding their indigenous ancestry. Indigenous Mexican ancestry is a bit difficult to trace back due to the colonial mentality of mestizaje (or racial mixing).

THEY told me NOT to COME HERE! | TORREÓN, Coahuila | Travel MEXICO 2021 | MEXICAN Food! | 4K ????????

TORREÓN, COAHUILA, Mexico - Hola! In this Travel Mexico video, we travel from Durango to the neighbouring state of Coahuila, more specifically, to the city of Torreón! They told me not to come here (ie everyone) due to the fact that it's supposedly not the safest city in Mexico and there's nothing to do. Unsurprisingly, 'they' were WRONG!

This video (in 4k) covers some first impressions of Torreón, we eat some amazing street food at a local market (lonches!), and head up the Teleférico to Cerro de las Noas, known for a particular type of cactus common across northern Mexican states and wait for it, the tallest CHRIST statue in NORTH AMERICA!!

If you're thinking about moving to Mexico or becoming one of the increasing number of expats in Mexico, your choices aren't limited to popular areas like Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Cancun or Puerto Vallarta. Durango/Coahuila are states that, granted, you'll need to be able to speak Spanish in, but the city and state has so much to offer, just as much as those other places!

Things to do in Cozumel, Day Trip, Cruise Excursion, East Side Bar Hop, Cozumel Pueblo Mágico

One of our favorite things to do in Cozumel is visit the East Side (also called the Wild Side or el otro lado). Take a look and you’ll see why! The East Side is unspoiled beauty. Sea turtles nest on this side of the island and there are no big resorts, tall buildings, or beach houses blocking the incredible view. There is no electricity so it’s without ugly telephone poles and wires. Remember the days before smart phones when people laughed and talked together? This is the place, amigos! For the most part there is no wifi and cellular service is sporadic. Bring cash, credit cards are not accepted. The restaurant bars are palapa style and cook using fire. We promise you will not be disappointed!

???????? The TRUTH about MEXICO TRAVEL in 2020 | BACK in San Luis Potosí, Mexico

???????? SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, MEXICO - Welcome back to Mexico! This is Part 10 of 10 of my Mexico Travel series in 2020! In this series, I've purposely made an effort to visit lesser-known destinations in Mexico away from the typical gringo, ex-pat or 'moving to Mexico' route. We've stayed away from places such as Cancun, Tulum, Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende; instead, concentrating on locations such as Iztapalapa, Tula, Toluca, Zacatacas and Jerez.

In this video, we're back in another golden Mexico destination, San Luis Potosí (for the third time!). I have filmed many videos here before in areas such as Xilitla and Real de Catorce. In the first half of this video, we revisit some old favourites and devour some classic SLP comida Mexicana (Mexican food) such as Costanzo chocolates and Enchiladas Potosinas!

The second half talks about the truth of Mexico travel in 2020 and a focus on me, so turn off if you're not interested! Travelling in Mexico during a pandemic hasn't been easy and there are many things I purposely haven't even mentioned throughout this series!

So, if you're planning a Mexico trip in 2020 (well, 2021 now!) or thinking about moving to Mexico, the lesser-known destinations in this series could be for you!

???????? GUADALUPE, ZACATECAS | Why PUEBLOS MÁGICOS are MAGIC! | Mexico Travel 2022

???????? GUADALUPE. MEXICO - For Part 22 of my 2022 Mexico Travel series, we wake up in Zacatecas after seeing Tamborazo in the previous video and evade vicious Mexidogs (obviously a joke jaja) before heading to another one of Mexico’s magic towns (pueblos mágicos), GUADALUPE, just a short distance on the local bus from Zacatecas itself, and definitely worth a day trip while in the state!

I’ve been to Jerez de Gárcia Salinas twice before (which is not far away); Guadalupe definitely adds something more to the magic towns of Zacatecas which have something quite unique about them which I can’t quite put my finger on!

This video is all about experiencing travel the way you want to and understanding that someone doesn’t have to do everything in Mexico to go away with a positive experience. There are many things to do and things to see in Guadalupe including churches, great Mexican food (comida Mexicana including lonches adobada and helado mexicana (ice cream)) and more, even if you just enjoy looking at architecture and buildings without needing to know in depth history! Guadalupe is another reason you should visit Zacatecas!

If you’re thinking of becoming expats or moving to Mexico, Zacatecas is definitely an underrated location - like Guanajuato would have been years ago. Is it safe? Is it dangerous? Granted, there have been recent events in relation to cartels in the state, but honestly, I’ve never experienced an issue.

???????? Mexico TRAVEL 2020 | TULA DE ALLENDE, Hidalgo | The BEST BARBACOA EVER! | Mexican Food

???????? TULA DE ALLENDE, HIDALGO, MEXICO - Welcome back to another Mexico Travel video! This is part 3 of my Mexico Travel 2020 series as we head to Tula de Allende, Hidalgo, north of Mexico City.

Hidalgo is known from its relationship with England, particularly in Pachuca and Real del Monte, which I visited in 2019. Tula, to the west of the state of Hidalgo, is well known from its Toltec archaeological sire (currently closed in 2020 due to Covid-19), and its amazing authentic Comida Mexicana (Mexican Food) including carnitas (little meats) and quite possibly the best barbacoa in Mexico.

Barbacoa is essentially barbequed meat, usually sheep, goat or cow that is slow-cooked in a whole in the ground. In this video, we have barbacoa consome (like soup) containing chickpeas alongside two ginormous tacos de barbacoa!

The next video is also from Hidalgo, in Cruz Azul!

????????SAN MIGUEL de ALLENDE | Is This MEXICO'S BIGGEST ANTICLIMAX? | MOVING To MEXICO In 2019?

*I have a new WEBSITE! Head over to for Travel, Digital Nomad and Teaching blog posts incorporating video, text and photography, purchase my Teaching Online Ebooks (also at take advantage of my affiliates and even book an English lesson with me at ????????SAN MIGUEL de ALLENDE, MEXICO - Hola amigos! It's time to visit San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato state, Central Mexico. This isn't the typical overview of San Miguel you will see among the plethora of 'The Most Beautiful City in Mexico videos... it's time to get real.

San Miguel de Allende is the perfect example of a Mexican city which needs to be viewed from different points of view, ie a tourist, an expat, a long term traveller/Digital Nomad and indeed a Mexican - you'll all see it differently.

San Miguel is quite rightly a perfect location for short term tourism and for those considering moving to Mexico, ie expats. It is indeed beautiful and encompasses everything that screams MEXICO.

However, is it everything the hype lives up to? Perhaps not, especially if you've been able to visit other locations in Mexico which offer the same, if not more.

Everyone's opinion is different, that's what YouTube is about.
