Sayaboury (Laos) - Dorfleben & Motorradtrip | Trailer | Chris Fritze

End of January 2021, I suddenly found myself in a village outside Sayaboury City, as I had helped a friend move on short notice. During my two-day stay in the village, I had the great opportunity to get a small insight into the rural and traditional Laotian countryside lifestyle.

Afterwards we went by motorbike across the Sayaboury province back to Luang Prabang. The ride took several hours and led us through rural Sayaboury, along winding mountain roads and was peppered with spectacular views.

The full short film will be available Friday, February 26th (2021).

Sayabouly: the Land of Elephants

Sayabouly Province is the largest habitat of elephants in Laos. Farmers are still in use elephants as labor force in the fields and forests, though they treat the big mammal as a family member or a life-long partner.
The Lao Elephant Festival celebrates every February in Sayabouly with a reverence toward the sacred animal. You can feel the eternal adoration for elephants in the province, the Land of Elephants.
Elephant riding and trekking are available all year in Hongsa district. Nam Tien NPA (National Protected Area) of an elephant sanctuary is located near the provincial capital. For more information, please visit our official websites:

Vidéo Indonésie - Cambodge - Laos

À défaut de photos sur mon blog durant ces 2 derniers mois, je me suis dit qu'une petite vidéo serait un bon moyen de vous montrer ce que j'ai pu voir pendant ce temps.

Voici donc une vidéo combinée de mes voyages sur les terres de l'Île de Java, du Cambodge et du Laos.

Exploring the Mekong River: Xayaboury to LPB???????? || EP 13

On our final day in Laos, we travel back to Luang Prabang from Xayaboury. The total journey is 123 kilometers with the majority of that being unpaved. In the morning after a rough night’s sleep, we hop back on our Honda CRF250 and set out across the Mekong River towards Muang Nan. In Muang Nan, dietary options are chosen carefully as I don’t want to end up getting a rebound of food poisoning. After a successful lunch, we follow the unpaved Route 1 along the Mekong River towards Luang Prabang. On our journey, we meet some friendly children who help me get a Pepsi with the last of my Lao Kip. We cross rivers and streams and witness some of the most beautiful scenery yet on our Laos trip.
Hope you enjoyed the last of this mini series from Laos and see you in the next one somewhere else!

A special thanks to Chris from LAO-ADV for providing the bike, helping plan the route and giving lots of great advice. If you are looking for a reliable person to either, be your guide or to rent a motocross bike from in Laos, he is your guy.
