There's a great variety of local offerings to be found at Southgate Farmer's Market every Saturday - Nutopia Farm is where they grow my favorite purple star apple. Sugar apples and soursop are also delicious local fruits. La Reine is a popular farmer's market and they've recently begun setting up at the Agricultural Fair Grounds. Some of our other local farms include Sejah, Ridge to Reef, Art Farm, and lots of mom/pop stops!

Location and How to get there
The US Virgin Islands located 40 miles east of Puerto Rico and lie between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. They consist of 4 larger Islands St Thomas, St Croix, St John, and water island. There are about 50 other smaller islands. The capital city is Charlotte Amalie which is located on the most visited island St. Thomas. Around 1.2 million people visit this island annually. St. Thomas is the most popular port of call for cruise lines with two docks for them. Also There are a number of airlines that offer direct flights from the US mainland to St Thomas and St Croix.
St John does not have an airport, however, you can easily get there from St. Thomas by short ( around 20-25 minutes) ferry ride. Also if you rent a car on St Thomas you can take a car to St. John by riding a car ferry.
There is a Seaborne seaplane that gives travelers a fast and convenient way to connect between St. Croix and St. Thomas. The flights are only 25 minutes between these 2 islands.
When to visit.
The best time to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands is April to June when you can expect mild weather and very little rainfall. The hurricane season officially lasts from June to November. The Virgin Islands lie in the main pathway of many hurricanes originating in the Atlantic ocean, so they often get hit. The peak season in the Virgin Islands runs from December to April when hotel rates are the highest.
The temperatures vary between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit (21 and 32 °C), with an average of 78 °F (26 °C).
What to see
In addition to white sandy beaches and snorkeling, US Virgin Islands have a ton of other things to do.
There are many things you can do while visiting St. Thomas. You can walk and explore Charlotte Amaliya, take a historical walk at 99 steps and visit Blackbeard's castle. If you are visiting the island by cruise ship, right across from the Havensight cruise ship dock located Skyride to Paradise Point. You can take a short tram ride from the base station to 700 feet above sea level to see the spectacular views at Paradise Point. There are restaurants and shops at the top where you can relax, eat, shop, drink enjoy one of the best views in the Caribbean..
if you are traveling with kids, you should visit Coral World Ocean Park, a marine park and tourist attraction located next to Coki Beach on the East End of St. Thomas. The Park features Underwater Observatory Tower, which descends 20 feet in the ocean to allow underwater viewing. There are activities like touch pools, aquariums, watching animal feeding, and Sea Trek Helmet Dive which offers you to walk and breath underwater exploring marine life.
Park animals include sea turtles, stingrays, juvenile sharks, sea stars, conch, sea cucumbers, iguanas, sea lions and others. Many of the animals, such as the turtles, are rescued from the wild and released when possible.
The park focuses on visitor education and interaction with the animals, through touch encounters, feedings, swims, snuba, and Sea Trek.
US Virgin Islands are well known for their beaches and for a good reason. The beaches are incredible. There are a number of beaches that offer good snorkeling. You can easily spot sea turtles or stingrays by just snorkeling off the beach. According to National Geographic Magen’s Bay which is located on the northside of St. Thomas is one of the top 10 world’s best beaches in the world. This almost a mile-long beach offers amenities such as restrooms, showers, beach rentals such as chairs, kayaks, etc.
St. John is famous for its National Park and beautiful beaches. Virgin Islands National Park covers roughly 60% of the Island. Hills, valleys, and beaches are breathtaking.
If you are visiting St. Croix one of the must-do attractions is touring the rum distilleries. There are 2 world-class distilleries on the island Cruzan and Captain Morgan. For a small fee, you can take a guided tour of a rum distillery and learn the history of rum and how it’s produced, and best of all you get to enjoy tropical rum cocktails.
Conclusion
US Virgin Islands is a place that every US traveler should check out. It’s easy to access from the US, does not require a passport, and offers some of the best beaches you’ll find in the Caribbean.
Things to See on St. Croix US Virgin Islands in 4k
On this episode we take you on St. Croix's highest point Mt. Eagle. When exploring St. Croix US Virgin Island this is a must do! and see on St. Croix We take you to the top and the views of Cane Bay are amazing. St. Croix in 4K
Mt Eagle is the highest point on ST Croix, approximately 1160 feet.. From the top parking lot, it is a relatively easy 25 minute hike/walk to the summit, which is a cairn of rocks. Continue past the summit to the overlook, about 100 yards, and you will have a magnificent view of Cane Bay and the north shore. Map it out by starting at Rowdy Joe's and drive up the hill on rte 73 and turn right on rte 78(also called Scenic Road on some maps). The road is one lane and bumpy. Drive to saddle between Mt. Eagle and Blue Mt (which has communications towers on its summit). From the saddle walk about 100 yards down the right jeep path to the trail head on the right. Bring water and snacks.

5 MUST SEE THINGS IN ST CROIX
My friends & I were able to visit St. Croix, USVI in February of 2020. We experienced 5 amazing things on this island that you should definitely not miss!
Here are the top 5 must-see places on this island:
- Rainbow Beach: a beautiful blue beach that's great for snorkeling and jetskiing
- Beer Drinking Pigs: these huge pigs guzzle down (nonalcoholic) beers, definitely a sight to see & don't forget to take the shot
- Cane Bay: a picturesque beach that is great for snorkeling, we even spotted some turtles
- Point Udall: the most eastern point of the US & the best place to catch the sunrise on the island
- Annaly Bay Tidepools: if you do anything, put these mermaid pools on your list because these are crazy scenic
We were also lucky enough to experience Mardi Croix aka St. Croix's version of Mardi Gras! The streets were lined with people celebrating with the parade, laughing, dancing, and drinking beers. There are food street vendors along the road to get all your food and drinking needs.

St. Croix is one of the U.S. Virgin Islands, in the Caribbean. Bright yellow Fort Christiansvaern is among Christiansted National Historic Site’s Danish colonial buildings. West, St. George Village Botanical Gardens occupies an old sugar plantation. Point Udall’s Millennium Monument marks the easternmost point of U.S. territory. North, Salt River Bay National Park has archaeological sites, mangroves and coral reefs.
