Mahallat (Persian: محلات, also Romanized as Maḩallāt; also known as Mahallāt Bāla and Maḩallāt-e Bālā) is the capital of Mahallat County, Markazi Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, the city had population of 35,319—10,285 families.
In ancient times it was an important location for Zoroastrianism. It has a cold climate, and strong winds during spring and summer. The city is one of the major producers and exporters of flowers in Iran. Every September the city holds a flower festival. In addition, the area surrounding the city is rich with travertine deposits, which are refined into tiles in nearby factories.
There are remains of Hellenistic architecture from Alexander the Great's time in Mahallat as well as fire temple ruins dated from the Zoroastrianism era. The city is famous for a large warm water spring flowing from mountains in the North into the plain areas of the South, which are used for agriculture as well as the urban water supply. There are also hot springs not far from the city which have been a source of local tourism since ancient times due to its assumed medical benefits. The dialect spoken in Mahallat is a version of a larger branch of dialects spoken in central Iran (Yazd, Isfahan, Khonsar) with several words having a noticeable connection to old Persian.[citation needed]
Mahallat was formerly divided into three major parts. The northern part was Mahallat-e Bala, the area of the Sadat-e Mahallat, the families descending from the prophet Mohammad. In the middle Mahallat-e Ghaleh, originally a vast open space with fields, but in the 18th century two brothers from Sabzevar and their soldiers and servants built castles and developed the area. The family was later known as Amiri, Amirkhani, Elahi, Majidi, Nasseri, Norouz Nasseri and Khosrovani (Mahallati). The southern part was named Mahallat-e Pain and this was where the Aga Khan built his huge castle.
Born in Mahallat were: the first Iranian to become a US citizen, Hajj Sayyah Mahallati, Aga Khan II, a religious leader, Mohsen Sadr (Sadr ol-Ashraf II), prime minister and senator, and General Parviz Khosrovani, deputy prime minister and founder and first president of the famous Taj Sports Club (Taj Football Club), later known as Esteghlal Football Club.

تپه ها و محوطه هاي باستاني وتاريخي شهرستان گرمسار از لحاظ باستان شناسي وارتباط آنها با ديگر محوطه هاي باستاني استان سمنان و همدوره بودن تعدادي از آنها با محوطه هاي پيش از تاريخ فلات مركزي ايران شايان توجه است.
در ادامه فرهنگ هايي در اين منطقه رشد ونمو كرده اند كه مهمترين آنها را در عصر آهن از اواسط هزاره دوم پيش از ميلاد تا اوايل هزاره اول داريم. عصري كه سفالينه هاي خاكستري ،مشخصه بارز آن است وگسترش اين فرهنگ را در سرتاسر گرمسار در محوطه هايي همچون قره تپه،تپه گيس، تپه علي آباد،كاشان تپه،تپه شوره زار، قوش تپه، تپه رشمه، اوزون قوچيلي و مگس تپه مي توانيم مشاهده كنيم .پس از اين دوره فرهنگ هايي از دوران تاريخي (پارت وساساني)در محوطه هاي باستاني ديگري همچون تپه غول آباد،تپه ميرزا،تپه ملك آباد ،تپه سعدآباد و ديگر تپه ها ديده مي شود.
اين فرهنگ ها كم وبيش در يك سير تداومي جاي خود را به ديگر فرهنگ ها واگذار مي كننند. آخرين مرحله ودوره فرهنگي در اين منطه را از دوران اسلامي خواهيم ديد كه عمدتا مربوط به قرون چهارم تا يازدهم هجري مي باشند ومحوطه هاي بيشماري اعم از تپه،بنا وجاده را شامل مي شوند.
تپه غول آباد
تپه غول آباد در غرب روستاي غياث آباد و به فاصله حدود 3 كيلومتري آن قرار دارد . اين تپه به لحاظ عظمت و ارتفاع زيادي كه در دشت گرمسار دارد و از فاصله دور نمايان است، به غول آباد مشهور است و شايع است كه بناي بزرگي كه احتمالا يك قلعه از دوران اسلامي مي باشد ، و در دل خاك مدفون است ، توسط افرادي كه داراي قدرت فوق انساني بوده اند، ساخته شده است.
ابعاد اين تپه در حدود 180 در 180 متر و ارتفاع آن از سطح اراضي اطراف آن حدود 15 متر مي باشد.تپه غول آباد يكي از بلندترين تپه هاي دشت گرمسار مي باشد . شكل ظاهري اين تپه به صورت دايره است كه دور تا دور آن را يك خاكريز فرا گرفته كه به نظر مي رسد خندقي سراسري در اين محل ايجاد شده بود. در بالاي تپه آثار اندكي از برج هايي كه دور تا دور آن را فرا گرفته بود ، ديده مي شود وبه نظر مي رسد كه يك قلعه بزرگ از دوران اسلامي در اين محل قرار داشته و آثار معماري شامل طاق و ديواره هاي خشتي با خشت هايي به ابعاد 5×25×25 سانتي متر نيز در اين تپه ديده مي شود .در سطح تپه آثار كند وكاو كه توسط حفاران غير مجاز انجام گرفته ، به فراواني ديده مي شود.
سفالينه هاي زيادي در اطراف و بالاي تپه پراكنده است كه عمدتا متعلق به قرون ششم تا هشتم هجري است.اين سفالينه ها شامل ظروف لعابدار ساده به رنگ فيروزه اي و منقوش وساده بدون لعاب مي باشند.
اين تپه داراي ارزش تاريخي است و قابل ثبت در فهرست آثار ملي كشور است. ( نویسنده متن: یونس شاه حسینی)

These cultures more or less give way to other cultures in a continuous process. We will see the last stage and cultural period in this region from the Islamic period, which is mainly related to the fourth to the eleventh centuries AH, and countless areas, including hills, buildings and roads, are included.
Gholabad hill
The dimensions of this hill are about 180 by 180 meters and its height from the surface of the surrounding lands is about 15 meters. Gholabad hill is one of the highest hills of Garmsar plain. The appearance of this hill is circular, surrounded by an embankment that seems to have created a general ditch in this place. At the top of the hill you can see a few traces of the towers that surrounded it, and it seems that a large castle from the Islamic era has been located in this place and architectural works including arches and brick walls with bricks to Dimensions of 5 × 25 × 25 cm are also seen in this hill. On the surface of the hill, the works of Kand and Kaveh, which were done by unauthorized diggers, can be seen in abundance.
There are many pottery scattered around and on the top of the hill, which mainly belongs to the sixth to eighth centuries AH. These pottery includes simple, glazed, turquoise-glazed and glazed non-glazed tableware.

Sebuktigin, the Ghaznavid sultan devastated Mashhad and stopped the pilgrims from visiting the holy shrine of Imam Reza. Tourists from the different parts of the world and Shia pilgrims, zawar, ziarin visit this holy city every year in large numbers and also travel to other cities of Iran. طبیعت بی نظیر دره شمخال، قوچان، استان خراسان رضوی ????????

دره شمخال با طبیعت کم نظیر و عرض کم و همچنین دیواره های ۲۰۰ متری عظیمی که این دره را همراهی می کند یکی از مقاصد گردشگری در شهر قوچان در استان خراسان رضوی به شمار می رود.
در ۱۰ کیلومتری ابتدای رودخانه منطقه ای به نام حمام آب وجود داشته که گردشگران زیادی را سالانه در خود جای می دهد.
در ابتدای دره رودخانه ای فصلی قرار گرفته که چشم اندازی زیبا را در کنار بوی عطر درختان گردو و رطوبت صخره های اطراف دره فراهم آورده است.

دره شمخال دارای مسیری پر پیچ و خم بوده که بر جذابیت آن می افزاید.
در مسیر این پیچ و خم های رودخانه نیز چشمه هایی هستند که از لا به لای صخره های سنگی بیرون زده و علاوه بر پر آب کردن این رودخانه موجب شفافیت هرچه بیشتر این رود می گردد.

این جاذبه طبیعی علاوه بر اینکه درختان گردو جنگلی را در خود جای داده است دارای گیاهان متنوع دیگری از جمله درختان زردآلو، چنار، سپیدار، تمشک، بید، موسیر، هفشان، چریش، زرشک، ریخوک، گون، کاکوتی، زالزالک و چندین گیاه وحشی و دارویی دیگر نیز می باشد.

✅ برای دسترسی به این منطقه می بایست از جاده شهر قوچان به سمت باجگیران(یکی از بخش های زیرمجموعه ی قوچان) حرکت کرده و در فاصله ۸۰ کیلومتری از قوچان تابلوهای راهنمایی وجود دارد که شما را به سمت روستای شمخال هدایت می نماید.
در ۵ کیلومتری شهر باجگیران به روستای شمخال رسیده، سپس خودروی خود را در مکانی گذاشته و مابقی مسیر را پیاده از میان دره ها عبور نمایید. پس از وارد شدن به دره شمخال با شنیدن صدای خروش آب و همچنین کوه های بلندی که اطراف شما را فرا گرفته و طبیعتی خاص گویی آرامشی وصف نشدنی تمام وجود شما را در بر گرفته و می توانید مدتی را به دور از هرگونه هیاهو در این مکان بگذرانید.
