Ride the Alpine Coaste
At 9,596 feet above sea level, you can have one of Gstaad's most thrilling experiences. The Alpine Coaster at Glacier 3000 is the highest situated toboggan run in the world. You can go up to 25 miles per hour, which is the ultimate rush for anyone who likes to be scared. The ride is suitable for kids older than 9 years, while kids three and up can ride with an adult.

When you get off the plane, you can have a drink with some local snacks.

The suspension bridge will take you to new heights. It links two peaks, View Point and Scex Rouge. While you're there, you can see the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, and Jungfrau in the distance. They are all beautiful. On the peak, you can also ride huskies on a dogsled, ski, snowboard, or take a helicopter ride over Glacier 3000. This place is every adrenaline junkie's dream.

It is styled after the Orient Express, with wood panelling and gold accents.

On the quest of exploring Alps, my road trip begins. After having great time in Austria, my next destination was Switzerland. I wanted to celebrate my new year on Alps mountains viewing Matterhorn in Zermatt.
This is my third visit to this beautiful Alpine country and first time with the family. All the planning was done by kids and Bhabhiji including prime spots of DDLJ movie. So lot of actions and majestic location of exotic Swiss alps will be revealing in 3 episodes of Swiss Diary.

Gstaad is a village in the Swiss municipality of Saanen (in French: Gessenay), located in the canton of Bern. It is a ski resort and a holiday resort frequented by the international elite of wealth and birth (the jet set), even by renowned artists (for example: Roman Polanski in 2010).
The village is located on the borders of the former county of Gruyère, dependent on the House of Savoy, in the administrative district of Haut-Simmental-Gessenay.
From the 19th century, the village became a place of tourism.
In 1947, Richard Nikolaus de Coudenhove-Kalergi founded the European Parliamentary Union in Gstaad. With 3,200 inhabitants, Gstaad represents a large fraction of the population of Saanen, which has almost 7,000.Gstaad has several “5-star” hotels: Alpina Gstaad, Gstaad Palace, Grand Hotel Park, Grand Bellevue, Ultima Gstaad Hotel, Spa & Residences.
There are many haute-couture or high-end jewelry boutiques there, and several international banks have a representation there.Several chalets serving as second homes for wealthy families were designed by renowned architects.
