Über das idyllische Lønstrup geht es in die Surfer-Stadt Lokken und an die wilde Jammerbucht. Sie fährt durch den Limfjord an die Ostseeküste und kehrt über Sæby zurück nach Skagen. Ihre ständigen Begleiter sind der Wind und der Sand: an den Stränden, auf der größten Wanderdüne Nordeuropas und an der Steilküste von Lønstrup, wo ein Leuchtturm fast vom Sand begraben wurde. Und hyggelig ist Vieles: das kalte Bier in der Strandsauna ebenso wie meditatives Arbeiten an der Töpferscheibe.
In Northern Jutland, Tamina Kallert searches for the proverbial Danish cosiness (hyggelig) and finds relaxed people, old traditions, spectacular natural phenomena, towns with pastel-colored houses - and a very special light. Tamina travels along the west coast, via the idyllic Lønstrup to the surf town of Lokken and the wild Jammerbugten. She drives through the Limfjord to the Baltic Sea coast and returns to Skagen via Sæby. Your constant companions are the wind and the sand: on the beaches, on the largest hiking dune in Northern Europe and on the steep coast of Lønstrup, where a lighthouse was almost buried by the sand. And a lot is hyggelig: the cold beer in the beach sauna as well as meditative work on the potter's wheel.

Ep 14. To Læsø, Hals and Sæby in Denmark after Midsummer on Rörö, 2019
First summer at home on the west coast and then Denmark would be discovered!
But to begin with we thought we would celebrate midsummer at Rörö where we sailed on Wednesday evening. The port was full even though Midsummer Eve is on Friday? Boats come here already on Monday and take the best boat berth and it is usually crowded Tuesday evening! Everything worked out when the port received a cancellation to a bookable place until Saturday.
It was a lovely weekend despite torrential rain on Midsummer's Eve from three o'clock in the afternoon! So boring for everyone!
On Sunday we left Rörö and headed towards Läsö for the first time. Perfect conditions for crossing the Kattegat and we got a good long-side berth in the port of Österby, which is located in the northeast of the island.
The next day we woke up to a stiff gale with wind gusts of around 20 m/s (40 knots) which would not subside until Friday! Spent a few nice days on Läsö with seafood every day, Annika was out riding in the shallow waters south of the island, I visited the famous saltires from the Middle Ages and we visited the port of Västerby in the northwest. All this with the free buses that take you wherever you want on Läsö.
On Friday we left Läsö to sail to and into the Limfjorden in Jylland and there we docked in Hals, a small village right at the entrance of the Limfjorden. On the way there, we aimed for porpoises and surprising some dolphins! Nice evening in Hals! Instead of continuing to sail to Århus the next day we took the bus as all ports were full in Århus as the sailing competition The Tall Ships Race had a stop in Århus! Cozy day with many full riggers, cozy shopping and very good smørrebrød with schnapps.
The next day the weather report was full of very southwesterlies in the evening and the next day the moorings were thrown loose and we sailed north to Sæby where we were once again blown in! We met nice Norwegians next to Ragnvi as the harbor was full of sailors!
After a few windy days, visits from divers who picked up my goggles and more good Danish delicacies, we headed back towards Læsø!
After a few more days on Læsø with the women's soccer World Cup in the cockpit and a decisive match up in the restaurant, we started preparing for the journey home to Saltholmen! Ended two and a half weeks of sailing with a pizza at the Paradiset restaurant on Saltholmen!
Första sommaren hemma på västkusten och då skulle Danmark upptäckas!
Men till att börja med tänkte vi firade vi midsommar på Rörö dit vi seglade på onsdag kväll. Hamnen var full trots att midsommarafton är på fredag? Hit kommer båtar redan på måndagen och tar de bästa platserna och det blir oftast fullt tisdag kväll!
Allt ordnade sig då hamnen fått en avbokning till en bokningsbar plats till och med lördag.
Blev en härlig helg trots ösregn på midsommarafton från klockan tre på eftermiddagen! Så tråkigt för alla!
På söndag så lämnade vi Rörö och styrde mot Läsö för första gången. Perfekta förhållanden för att korsa Kattegat och vi fick en bra långsidesplats i hamnen i Österby som ligger i nordost på ön. Nästa dag vaknade vi till en styv kuling med vindbyar på dryga 20 m/s (40 knop) viket inte skulle mojna förrän på fredagen! Blev några fina dagar på Läsö med skaldjur varje dag, Annika var ute och red i de grunda vattnen söder om ön, jag besökte de berömda salteriet från medeltiden och vi besökte hamnen Västerby i nordväst. Allt detta med gratisbussarna som tar dig vart du vill på Läsö.
På fredagen lämnade vi Läsö för att segla till och in i Limfjorden på Jylland och där vi lade till i Hals en liten by just vid inloppet av Limfjorden. På vägen dit siktade vi både Tumlare och hör och häpna några delfiner! Trevlig kväll i Hals och i stället för att segla till Århus nästa dag tog vi bussen då alla hamnar var fulla i Århus då segeltävlingen The Tall Ships Race hade stopp i Århus! Mysig dag med många fullriggare, mysig shopping och väldigt goda smörrebröd med snaps till.
Nästa dag var väderleksrapporten full av mycket sydvästlig vid framåt kvällen och några dagar framöver så kastade loss förtöjningarna och seglade norrut till Sæby där vi åter igen blev inblåsta! Så det blev ytterligare av raskt gemyt och vi fick trevliga norrmännen utan på Ragnvi då hamnen var knökfull!
Efter några blåsiga dagar, besök av dykare som hämtade upp min glasögon och ytterligare goda danska delikatesser så styrde vi åter mot Læsø!
Efter ytterligare några dagar på Læsø med damernas fotbolls-VM i sittbrunnen och en avgörande match uppe i restaurangen så började vi förbereda oss för hemfärd till Saltholmen! Avslutade två och en halv veckas seglats med en pizza på restaurang Paradiset som ligger på Saltholmen!

This time we are in May 2022, which for the most parts treated us to a wonderfull Danish spring weather.
As always with us, we prefer wildcamping in nature
We leave only our foot- and wheelprints and always try our best to clean the area up better than we received it.
Evening trip to Oddesund for an Ice cream and a sunset – just because we can.
In Lemvig, the Klimatorium is a very nice spot for an overnight stay. They have well kept toilets.
It’s the start of the season and the sun is shining, so ofcourse we have to celebrate with an Ice cream.
On tour to Esbjerg we passed Denmarks first big windmill – the start to European switch to alternative power.
When in Esbjerg, you just have to go and have your breakfast by kaffesmeden.

We also like to take a trip to Blåvandshuk.
You can’t drive all the way to the beach anymore – but a wonderful place. Og we can always eat an Ice cream.
Had a stop by Filsø and Ellipsen.
Where we saw this little critter.
Next trip was Bøllingsø and Dværgebakken. Very nice views and som friendly and curious horses.
We started at Bølling Sø and our stay for the night was Gludsted Plantage (plantation).
The straight path between thes two point is 18 kilometer – but we took a trip around Skanderborg, so instead we ended up driving 120 km instead. A typical Saturday for us. ????
From Bøllingsø we accidently passes through Them, that has a large dairy and their own cheese shop. Very nice cheeses, but we tend to overbuy at places like that.
Then a shop called Stof og Sy in Skanderborg, also a very expensive place to visit.
Anna Mette bought fabric to make this project with farm animals for the grand children for christmas calender.
In the old quarry by Fyel, the have a lake for bathing and very very nice toilets.
We stopped for lunch and to try out a drone.
I had just bought a very cheap chinese one, just to test it out.
That didn’t end well.
Then a very long stretch over Thy to Blokhus beach for lunch. Drove a little in the area - visiting Løkken and Lyngby Beach.
Watched the sunset at Mårup church – but too overcrowded with camper vans, so we drove off and found Kajholm Plantage, where we spend the night and had a wonderful hike the next day.
Past the Tversted lakes, the Icebunker at Råbjerg Mile ( a moving sanddune) and then just driving around in Skagen. Spend the night by Nordstranden – it’s not quite season yet – so there were only a couple of camper vans.
From Nordstranden to a new parking by the eastern harbour, where there were a nice view, a beach for swimming and toilets. Kenneth was placed in the camper for some work on the computer, and Anna Mette took a museum tour in Skagen – visiting the houses and museum of famous painters like: Holger Drachmann and Michael Ancher. After all that art, we drove south and spend the night at Sæby Sønderstrand.
Time to head home – very slow and reluctant of course. We had stops on the way at Sæby, Lyngsø Strand, Stensnæs Strand og Voerså Havn. In Hals we had a little time to kill before the ferry sailed, which we spent at a very beautiful playground by the name of Klyden.
Then on the small roads – passing Vebbestrup deliberately – becays the probably make Denmarks most famous and delicious Soft-Ice – ever!
