A while back I found myself staring at the gap in Parque Das Gerações in São João do Estoril Portugal. If the gap wouldn't be there it would be a piece of cake, but...There is a gap, meaning there is no margin for error. And that's exactly why it's such a mentally challenging exercise. Did I make it?

Rio Maior Skatepark - Trucks and Fins - Searching for skateparks in Portugal
The next stop on our search for skateparks in Portugal is Rio Maior. Last weekend I invited a friend Benny with his son Keanu Schwedt ( along to join Nico and me for a day out skateboarding in Portugal. The first spot of the day was the skatepark in Rio Maior. Why? Because on a previous video Denis asked us to visit his local park in Rio Maior. The second stop was the skatepark in Pataias, but that's for another video.

60km from Syria! Lost in the East of Turkey | Van Life in Hatay & Antakya
We're kicking off our Eastern Turkey road trip with a drive through Hatay Province. It's the food region of Turkey with an unrivalled history and culture, being part of Syria until 1939. We go on a food tour of Antakya, the regions capital, eating everything from homemade humus to the delicacy of Kunefe and the best baklava of my life. We go off-road in the middle of a storm, in search of a tree that grew from the staff of Moses. And that's just the beginning. Turkey, you are something very special indeed.

We're Chesca and Ben and River (???? ) and we usually live full-time in our self converted sprinter van, Sophia. After a year of travelling Europe, from Spain and Portugal to the island of Sicily, the pandemic brought us back home to the UK. Along with a secret project! We spent the winter re-building Sophia into a more sturdy overlanding rig, ready to take us across Africa - our next challenge. However, it's a trip we've now had to postpone. But when the wind changes - adjust your sails! We're now off on an Eastern voyage across to Greece, Turkey & beyond. I hope you enjoy this new adventure as we overland our way East.
