Strastnoy Boulevard is a major boulevard in Moscow. It begins in the Tverskoy District by Pushkin Square, Tverskaya Street and Tverskoy Boulevard. The boulevard ends at Petrovka Street, although east of Petrovka, it becomes Petrovsky Boulevard, where it heads to Clean Ponds. The Strastnoy Boulevard is a part of the Boulevard Ring.

The Boulevard Ring is a pedestrian-friendly ring road that was built where the city’s 16th-century fortifications, the Belgorodskaya Wall surrounding the so called White City, once stood.
The Boulevard Ring encompasses 10 boulevards and 13 squares, it's total length is slightly more than 9 kilometres, and passes through many sites of interest. The ring consists of Yauzsky, Pokrovsky, Chistoprudny, Sretensky, Rozhdestvensky, Petrovsky, Strastnoy, Tverskoy, Nikitsky and Gogolevsky boulevards.
Despite its name, the Boulevard Ring doesn't physically form a closed circle and is interrupted by Moskva river.

Что такое Пески?
Пески — это все Советские улицы, Мытнинская и Дегтярная улицы, которые их пересекают, а также Суворовский, Лиговский и Греческий проспекты и несколько других магистралей. Название происходит от песчаной гряды, которая тянулась от Лиговского к Суворовскому, проходила до Невы и далее по Охте. Это не что иное, как берег древнего моря. Из-за своего происхождения территория была самой высокой в городе, от чего её никогда не затапливало. Сегодня от той местности уже ничего не осталось, кроме неофициального названия.
Начал застраиваться во времена основания Петербурга, находится в самом центре города, но до сих пор сохранил некоторую провинциальность, тишину и покой отдельного городка.
