Inside the capital of southern Russia | Rostov On Don ????????
After taking a 24 hour train ride from Moscow we arrived in Rostov on Don, the capital and largest city in southern Russia. Rostov is one of Russia's most famous cities and known as the 'gateway to the Russian causcasus'. We arrived for 2 days with Julia's brother and sister from Moscow on our route back to Sochi. In this episode I went on a trip to Russia's most beautiful Rostov.
The town of Rostov Veliky in the Yaroslavl Oblast.
Rostov Veliky is a small picturesque and photogenic town located 200 km northeast of Moscow. Rostov Veliky is very impressive because of its multitude of beautiful onion domes (one more beautiful than the other).
When you first enter this town and see this small quiet place with all the two-story old wooden houses and grassy shores of the Lake Nero, you feel enchanted.
After visiting the Kremlin, I went down to nearby Lake Nero. Lake nero is 5000 years old. According to legend, all citizens of Rostov Veliky were baptized in this lake in the 10th century.
From the boat you can enjoy the picturesque panorama of the beautiful Kremlin of Rostov Veliky.
Rostov Veliky definitely worth a trip and is a must visit if you're traveling the Golden Ring of Russia.
