We road trip from Lisbon to visit a variety of places that may be a bit lesser-known, including: Nazaré, Coimbra, Lousã, Covilhã, Belmonte, the Serra da Estrela mountains and Tomar. Along the way, we also hike and drive winding roads to reach some remote and ancient schist stone villages of Talasnal, Candal and Piódão (Aldeias do Xisto).

If you are hungry, you'll love what we uncover in our latest food tour of Lisbon. After eating several Sea bass dinners at Time Out Market that cost us 15 euros each, we got turned on to a local Tasca where the sea bass is served fresh and for under 8 euros. Did I mention it also comes with potatoes and salad?
A Tasca is a small, family-owned restaurant. It is characterized by its dark wood interior and traditional Portuguese dishes. These restaurants offer large portions of traditional food served on large aluminum platters at more than reasonable prices.
A friend turned us onto a great Tasca two minutes from Rossio Square called Restaurant Mondego.
With a satisfying smile on each of our faces, we walk around the corner to Casa do Alentejo. We try a digestive liquor called Poejo that is local to the Alentejo region of Portugal.
We stop to marvel inside the Moroccan square (famous on Instagram) and proceed to the taverna. We visit the store next door that sells goodies from the Alentejo region.

MADEIRA - What’s It Like In The East Of The Island?
Outside of Funchal, what is the rest of Madeira like? We take a tour of the eastern side of this magnificent island.
It’s not a long drive from Funchal before you reach Pico do Arieiro, it is Madeira Islands's third highest peak. If you’re lucky and the weather is good you may be able to see the neighbouring island of Porto Santo.
Levada walks are popular on the island. Levadas transport water to the drier southern parts of the island and supply hydroelectric power. Their routes have become a network of walking paths.
On the North coast of Madeira, you can find Santana. The area is known for the traditional Madeiran homes constructed with sloping triangular roofs made of straw.
On the way back to Funchal we did try a little glass of rum at a distillery tour in Porto da Cruz.

We start the day by strolling through our new neighbourhood of Malate. Here we pass by one of the hearty local breakfast options. Dylan simply couldn’t say no! We continue our walk through the local parks and even pass by a beach! Finally, we reach Chinatown, where we eat as much as possible. In true 2passports1dream fashion, we make sure that it’s mostly desserts and sweet treats! What an amazingly delicious start to the day here in Manila.
