Trip report on the most international domestic Intercity in the Netherlands from Zwolle - Roosendaal
When you make an international railway journey, you probably won't travel via the Netherlands. But when you do so, you most likely end up at the Intercity between Zwolle & Roosendaal. This train does stop at two stations with connecting trains to Germany and two stations with connecting trains to Belgium.
In this video I'll show you the train (type DDZ), the terminal station of Zwolle and all international stations of this train route, what includes the other terminal station of Roosendaal.

Roosendaal (2023) is a city in the south of the Netherlands close the Belgium border. The city of Roosendaal has 77,000 citizens and is directly connected by train with Antwerp and Brussels (Belgium) and Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam. The centre of Roosendaal is characterized by the church of St. Johns, the medieval square around the church and the city hall. Roosendaal has grown simnifically after WWII as a logistic centre between Belgium and the Netherlands.

OVER GEZIN OP REIS
Als nieuwe moeder en reisgek was ik teleurgesteld door het gebrek aan praktische informatie over reizen met kinderen. Zowel over verre bestemmingen maar ook dichterbij. Welke stedentrips zijn nu echt leuk?, wat moet ik inpakken? en wat hoe vind ik een kindvriendelijk hotel. Ik besloot deze informatie zelf te gaan delen op basis van onze eigen ervaringen. Fast forward 4 jaar later en inmiddels ben ik fulltime reisblogger en lezen 100k bezoekers per maand niet alleen mijn verhalen maar ook die van een klein team gezinsreisbloggers. Echte eerlijk tips en ervaringen van ouders die net als jij de weten dat kinderen niet het einde zijn van reisavonturen maar een nieuw begin. Samen plezier maken dat is waar het om draait!

Roosendaal, Países Bajos | Brabante Septentrional | Paseo a pie y en bicicleta
Roosendaal es una ciudad de la provincia de Brabante septentrional, en los Países Bajos, que se encuentra muy cerca de la frontera Belga y en particular de Amberes. La historia de la ciudad se remonta al menos hasta el siglo XIII, cuando fue nombrada por primera vez en un documento como Rosendale y formaba parte del Ducado de Brabante. Su florecimiento económico se dio en la Edad Media principalmente debido al auge de la turba, la cual servía en esos tiempos como combustible doméstico y se exportaba a través de su puerto a Holanda, Zelanda y Amberes. Finalmente, en 1854 la economía de la ciudad dio un nuevo giro cuando se la conectó a través del ferrocarril con Amberes y Breda, de esta forma asumió un papel importante en el transporte internacional. Actualmente varias empresas de logística y transporte se encuentran establecidas en Roosendaal y en particular desde los años 70' la ciudad se ha ido desarrollando cada vez más como centro comercial y de servicios.
En este video los invitamos a recorrer virtualmente con nosotros Roosendaal y sus alrededores. En particular, comenzaremos nuestros recorrido en Essen, una ciudad Belga cerquita de la frontera. Winkelcentrum Passage Roosendaal, The Netherlands
De Passage is an indoor shopping center in the center of Roosendaal. The shopping center is located between Raadhuisstraat (north) and Nieuwe Markt (south). From Raadhuisstraat there are two entrances with shopping streets that open onto a courtyard. From there there is a shopping street to the Nieuwe Markt. The mall dates back to the 1980s and is home to more than 20 stores and restaurants.

In 2005, the Passage was thoroughly renovated in a Venetian style with elements from the Jugendstil and Art Deco. During the renovation, the center was equipped with natural stone floors with mosaics, hardwood facades, wrought iron railings and a large skylight with stained glass. The ceilings have lavish paintings. An orchestra with moving wax statues has been installed in the courtyard, which plays every fifteen minutes. The owner and his wife, Chris and Tonney Thünnessen, modeled some of the dolls.
