Frecciarossa prove diagnostiche AV Treviglio Brescia
Nella campagna fra Castegnato e Roncadelle termina, oggidì 12 ottobre 2016, la parte completata e sotto tensione della nuova tratta AV Alta Velocità, o meglio AV/AC (anche 'forse' futura Alta Capacità ... misteri misteriosi ... con quali locomotive merci monofase?... ) fra Treviglio e Brescia che sarà attivata, lo assicurano, col cambio orario del prossimo dicembre 2016. I Frecciarossa, che vanno sostituendo i Frecciabianca, transitano sulla linea storica Milano-Venezia. Oltre vari FR e FB transitano, sempre in buona velocità, i Regionali ed i RV Regionali Veloci. Locomotive E 464, elettromotrici ALe 582. Transitano vari Tigre, E 652, coi loro merci; sempre un gran bel spettacolo per me. Da questo punto, dove una semplice rete a traverso dei binari AV segnala la fine tratta, si vedono gli atli edifici di Brescia e si vedono pure le alture della Franciacorta. La linea ferroviaria AV, che corre accanto alla linea storica, è parte integrante del Corridoio Transeuropeo TEN-T 'Mediterraneo' ed è qui tra l' autostrada A4, che sottopassa, e la nuova autostrada Brebemi. Transitano i Venezia S.L.-Milano C.le, i Brescia-Bergamo, i Brescia-Sesto S. Giovanni ed i loro reciproci. Una E405, vari Tigroni ed arriva sulla linea AV, e si ferma, il Frecciarossa n. 5 che sta testando i binari sulla nuova linea AV. Sono prove diagnostiche riguardanti il sistema di segnalamento, ERMTS livello 2. Transita E 190 InRail, Taurus ES 64 U2, costruzione Siemens. Sono accanto alle pedane in legno, provvisorie, che serviranno a dirigenti e poltici quando settimana prossima faranno un viaggio in anteprima.

Earthquake damage north of Carpi, Italy
There were two major earthquakes in Emiglia Romagna on 20 May 2012 and 29 May 2012 which caused 27 deaths and widespread damage. You can see in my film from Carpi, that the magnificent cathedral there was still covered in scaffolding four years later and off bounds to the public. In this film I visit the location of a former restaurant which collapsed. The restaurant was located on the road leading from Carpi towards Fosoli, another place you can see in a film on this site.
The earthquake in the early hours of 20 May 2012 had a magnitude of 6.1 and the epicentre was around Finale Emilia, Bondeno and Sermide. Two aftershocks of magnitude 5.2 occurred, one approximately an hour after the main even] and another approximately eleven hours after the main event. Seven people were killed. A friend described it to me as being like the sound of a train passing underground.
The earthquake of 29 May 2012 was around 10km below the ground and had a magnitude of 5.8 with the epicentre in Medolla. It took 20 lives.
