We randomly decided to go to Rimini, not know anything about it except there's sand and the sea; we were pleasantly surprised!
It has a huge stretch of beach 15km to be exact, tons of beach bars and restaurants, a huge Ferris wheel, a cute downtown with several squares/piazza's. The main drag has lots of shops, more restaurants, mini arcades. There's something for everyone!
We stayed here:
It was perfectly located, a 15 minute or so walk from the train station and right on the beach. The staff were super amazing, room was exactly as described and had a huge balcony with a sea view. And the price!!
I would definitely come back to Rimini for a longer stay next time!

In the 19th century, Rimini was one of the most active cities in the revolutionary front, hosting many of the movements aimed at Italian unification. In the course of World War II, the city was the scene of clashes and bombings, but also of a fierce partisan resistance that earned it the honor of a gold medal for civic valor. Finally, in recent years it has become one of the most important sites for trade fairs and conferences in Italy.
The total approximate population of the Rimini urban area is 225,000 and the provincial population is 330,000.
