Rapperswil is a village in the municipality of Rapperswil-Jona in the canton of Zürich located on the upper end of Lake Zürich. it is known as Rose City because of the more than 20,000 Roses that bloom in the Rose Gardens every year from May to October. there are few tourist destinations in Rapperswil, for example: The Castle of Rapperswil, beautiful Rose Gardens, there's famous zoo (Knies Kinderzoo) in Rapperswil, and beautiful Rapperswil Lake etc. If you're in Zürich City, You can take Train from Zürich Main Station and travel to Rapperswil. Also You can take a boat trip from Zürich Lake to Rapperswil. which takes around 1.30 hrs to reach to Rapperswil. on the way to Rapperswil, you'll get to explore mindblowing and jaw-dropping views of the Zürich Lake and various small towns in Canton Zürich. Rapperswil, Switzerland
Rapperswil (Population 27.400) is a city in the Canton of St. Gallen (SG), but it is situated on Lake Zurich. You can take a ship to Zurich from here.
Main tourist attractions are the castle and the old town.
The Rapperswil Castle is from 13th century. There is a Polish museum in the castle.
In the old town there are two large places: the Fischmarktplatz (fish market place) and Hauptplatz (main place).
There is a railway station in Rapperswil. Travel time with train to Zurich is 36 minutes.
