Rapallo & Santa Margherita Ligure ???????? THE ITALIAN RIVIERA IS BEAUTIFUL

Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure are fantastic places along the Italian Riviera. It is so beautiful here and I cannot recommend this region of Italy enough! The coastline just keeps getting more beautiful as I work my way along the coast!

Next stop, Portofino!

The Bus between the two towns is the 707: it leaves roughly every 20 minutes - from Rapallo outside of the train station and from Santa Margherita Ligure outside of the Tourist Office.

Take the train between the two towns and grab tickets here: (the app is much better, so download that and keep your tickets with you on your phone).

In this video:
WHAT are the major attractions that you can't go home without having seen, including, the fortress, the church of Capuchin, Villa Durazzo, and the church of Saint Giacomo della Corte.

Santa Margherita Ligure is a charming and picturesque Italian seaside town, with clear seawater and close to Portofino.
So, WHAT to see in Santa Margherita Ligure?

The fortress dates back to 16th century and it was built to defend the village against Saracens incùrsions.
Right in front of the Castle you will see the church of Capuchin, characterized by the typical black and white striped façade.
If you follow the stairway towards Villa Durazzo, you’ll reach the church of Saint Giacomo della Corte.
Spend some time relaxing in Villa Durazzo, surrounded by gardens in typical Italian style.

Portofino, Liguria- Italy: Things to Do - What, How and Why to visit it (4K)

If you are planning to visit the city of Portofino, in Liguria - Italy, here you’ll find the best tips on things to do in the village, with a sightseeing map on the most relevant points of interest to enjoy, so you can easily imagine and organize your trip: WHAT to see, HOW to plan your visit, and WHY to discover Portofino!

In this video:
WHAT are the major attractions that you can't go home without having seen, including Castello Brown, the Gulf of Portofino, the Church of San Giorgio, footpaths around to walk and the Abbey of San Fruttuoso.

Portofino seems the picture of the perfect port city, with a hill of olive groves and small vineyards in its background.
Portofino was known as Dolphin’s Harbor during the Roman era.
The Benedictines established a monastery in the 1400s.
Now, only 500-or-so people actually reside in Portofino, like fishing families and shop owners.
This picturesque town is an attraction for celebrities: for example, Avril Lavigne spent her honeymoon here and Kylie Minogue regularly visits it.

So, WHAT to see in Portofino?

The medieval castle - Castello Brown - on the top of the hill with a charming view over the Gulf of Portofino.
Church of San Giorgio lies almost in the center of the promontory.
About footpaths, I recommend the trail from Portofino to the Abbey of San Fruttuoso in the Portofino National Park (2 hours of walking).
Abbey of San Fruttuoso was built in the 11th century and is situated on the other side of the peninsula. Here you can find a nice beach and clear waters.

Remember that Portofino can be reached by ferry from Santa Margherita, Rapallo, Camogli, Cinque Terre and Genoa. The closest train station is in Santa Margherita, where there is a bus connection to Portofino.

FOOD TIPS:
- Panificio Canale, a a family-run bakery here:
- Trattoria Concordia, a restaurant perfect for a healthy feast of fresh fish, via del Fondaco, 5 ( +39 0185269207)

Portofino, Rapallo & Santa Margherita, Italy - The Italian Riviera (Liguria)

Portofino, Rapallo & Santa Margherita - The Italian Riviera (Liguria)
Portofino is a charming sea village on the Italian Riviera circumscribed by the green of the Natural Regional Park and Marine Reserve. This splendid sea resort with its lux, Mediterranean personality, also boasts an ancient marine culture. The area around Portofino is a protected park.
The little streets leading up from the harbour can be explored in very little time. As well as expensive boutiques, there are cheaper souvenir shops and also general stores where you could put together a picnic if you're planning on a walk. Via Roma leads upwards from the harbour, and is the busiest street, with a range of shops, the Portofino Tourist Information Office and the Post Office.
The pretty Piazzetta by the harbour is lined with cafe and restaurant tables, a lovely place to relax with a drink and watch the boats.
Wandering the waterfront and the lanes, you'll find yachting boutiques, jewellers and art galleries.......
#Rapallo was originally a traditional harbour town, and is now the largest and most important seaside resort on the Mediterranean coast in north-west Italy. It is not far from Portofino and with its range of hotels, Rapallo makes a good base for exploring the coast. Bigger and busier than its neighbours, and a little less expensive. Rapallo is convenient for travellers as it is also nearer the autostrada and has more 'stopping' train services......
#Santa Margherita Ligure is that wonderfully old-fashioned kind of Riviera resort where palm fronds wave along the esplanade and is also well placed to explore local highlights such as Portofino. The seafront is the main attraction at Santa Margherita Ligure, with its beach, lively harbour and promenade, and is very picturesque with palm trees, grand buildings and brightly coloured houses immediately behind the seafront. There are two quite extensive areas of beach in the centre of the town, hence its popularity as a base for visitors exploring the region.....

Northern Italian Liguria contains the town of Rapallo in the province of Genoa. Rapallo Italia is located between Portofino and Chiavari on the Tigullio Gulf shore of the Ligurian Sea in Liguria Italia. The Parco Naturale Regionale di Portofino, which covers the territory of six communes, includes the Rapallo Citta area.

Older Italians and families strolling down the promenade or relaxing on a bench with a gelato and taking in the vista give #Rapallo Italy a laid-back coastal vacation ambiance.

On the Italian Riviera, #RapalloLiguria is well-known for the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montallegro, a shrine with views of the sea that sits on a hill. On the waterfront is the 16th-century fortification known as Castello di Rapallo. The 10th-century San Fruttuoso Abbey is located in a little cove southwest of Portofino hamlet.

The Italian Riviera town Rapallo serves as a suitable starting point for exploring other towns along the Ligurian coast because it has a train station and affordable accommodations. From the city, a breathtaking ride on the cable railway up the hill to Montallegro offers amazing views of the ocean and coast.

Walk to the marina from the seafront, which is partially adorned with a lovely promenade lined with palm trees, to begin your visit. Numerous upscale seafood restaurants and hotels that take advantage of the views of the south across the sea may be found along the seashore.

In this stunning drone & aerial video tour of Rapallo Citta, you'll get to see the town from a whole new perspective!

Rapanello Citta is a charming town located in the Province of Livorno, in the hills of the Livornese Riviera. Even these beaches are the best of the Italian riviera!

Bonus Beach! Best beach Italy Riviera for dogs. SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE, Italy. Dog Beach. Bau Bau Beach in Santa Margherita. No Italy beach vlog with Italy best beaches would be complete without a dog beach!

Places to see in ( Rapallo - Italy )

Places to see in ( Rapallo - Italy )

Rapallo is one of a string of old-fashioned seaside resorts along the eastern half of the Italian Riviera (called the Riviera di Levante). It is not far from Portofino and with its range of hotels, Rapallo makes a good base for exploring the coast. Bigger and busier than its neighbours, and a little less expensive. Rapallo is convenient for travellers as it is also nearer the autostrada and has more 'stopping' train services. Although it isn't the nearest resort, it is still a handy base for the Portofino promontory, with frequent buses to Camogli, Recco, Santa Margherita and Portofino itself. A car can get to any of these places in well under half an hour.

Rapallo's own attractions shouldn't be overlooked either. A short promenade faces across the water to the large harbour and is flanked by a small medieval castle, used now mainly for exhibitions. Behind the front is a group of interesting old streets laid out on a sort of grid pattern. Rapallo was a Roman settlement. West of the town centre, the other side of the river, stands a small bridge which is certainly worth a look, although it now serves no purpose and crosses only a modern road. This is the Ponte di Annibale - plainly very ancient, even if the connection with Hannibal is less certain. At the back of the town, in the other direction, is the bottom station of a cable-car which goes up to the Sanctuary of Montallegro.

Apart from a visit to the church itself, the top gives access to big views over the coast and some walks. There's also a (rather scenic) golf course at Rapallo, a rare thing to find along this hilly coastline. The railway station is only a short walk from the seafront through the old town centre. Car parking is indicated close to the station and at the west end of the promenade.

Like the other resorts in this bit of Liguria, Rapallo makes a good base for hopping from one seaside town to the next. The railway and summer boat services make it easy to tour the resorts in this area, all of which are pleasant place to visit: Camogli, Santa Margherita Ligure and exclusive Portofino. Keen walkers can explore various footpaths in the regional park of the Portofino promontory, and the seashore monastery San Fruttuoso can be visited either by boat or on foot. More distant, but easily reachable by train are the busy city of Genoa and - to the south - the famous Cinque Terre.

WB Yeats, Max Beerbohm and Ezra Pound all garnered inspiration in Rapallo and it's not difficult to see why. With its bright-blue changing cabins, palm-fringed beach and diminutive 16th-century castle perched above the sea, the town has a poetic and nostalgic air. It's at its busiest on Thursdays, when market stalls fill central Piazza Cile.

Alot to see in Rapallo such as :

The Castello sul Mare (Castle-on-the-Sea), erected in 1551 to counter the frequent pirate attacks. It includes a small chapel dedicated to St. Cajetan, built in 1688.
The Castello di Punta Pagana is a seat of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. It was finished on 28 July 1631.
The historical Tower of the Fieschi and the Torre Civica (1473).
The Porta delle Saline, the only remaining gate from the ancient walls.
Basilica of Sts. Gervasius and Protasius, consecrated in 1118 and restored in the early 17th century. In 1679 a new apse was added, deleting the former Romanesque character of the edifice. It has a leaning bell tower.
The church of St. Francis of Assisi (begun in 1519).
The Sanctuary of Nostra Signora di Montallegro (Our Lady of Montallegro, 1558–1640).
The ruined Monastery of Valle Christi (13th century), abandoned in 1568 after pirate ravages.

( Rapallo - Italy ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Rapallo . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Rapallo - Italy
