Zürich Christmas Markets [Full Travel Guide]
Zürich is full of beautiful Christmas markets! There are so many, that you would need a whole afternoon to explore them all. The first market that you need to visit is the Weihnachtsdorf at the Sechseläuten square near Bellevue. It’s a yearly market with a festive lighting decoration and plenty of stalls. The market is quite foodie, so consider going there for dinner. There are smaller markets just nearby, for example just at the Grossmünster and then inside the Niederdörfli, the old city of Zürich. The market and especially the lighting decorations are very charming. It’s going to feel very cozy. Walk around the old city, explore the many alleys to enjoy the wonderful Christmas lights. Very nice is the market at the Fraumünster square. This market is rather small but feels very joyous due to the many houses being lit up beautifully. Important points of interest with beautiful lights are at the Hotel Storchen, the Augustinergasse, Rennweg, Parade square and Bahnhofstrasse. The lightings along the Bahnhofstrasse are called Lucy and have been fascinating the locals for over 10 years. There is also the fairytale tram that provides a small city tour for the kids, accompanied by Santa and his angels. The tour starts at the Bellevue at where you also can buy tickets. Another major market is the Christkindl market at Zürich HB (Zurich main station). It’s a rather traditional one, full of stall that sell handmade products and Christmas gifts. Very fascinating is the large Christmas tree with the many Swarovski diamonds. The most beautiful lighting decoration you will however get at the National Museum at the Illuminarium. This market is very festive and modern, even the Christmas tree there is made out of wood. Enjoy the light show of the Art festival, which you will have to pay entry for.

On this hike, I tried to get to the most secluded Cabin in the Alps. Day one shows me hiking the long way up to the cabin, day two is me summiting a nearby mountain. I was lucky to have spectacular views all the way to the cabin and the summit.
Reaching this cabin has definitely been my highlight this year. With this video, I am hoping to share some of the impressions and fantastic views that I managed to capture while hiking. Thanks for watching.

???? Escaping the fog in rural Zurich Highlands/Tösstal (Cab Ride Thurbo S26 | Winterthur - Rüti)
A quite unusual year is coming to an end. Never ever would I have imagined that cab rides like this one would be one of very few ways to travel the world and experience the beauty of railway trips in foreign countries. I hope that these videos brought some peace and joy during these times to you. With almost 30 new videos (29 to be exact), there was certainly a lot of new things to see and discover.
In autumn and winter it is usually cold and very humid in Switzerland and the result of that is fog. Some parts of the country get more, some less or even none at all. There was a little fog left when we start off in Winterthur and none in Zurich Highlands. Most drivers really enjoy those changes in scenery and weather. It is one of the pros of this non-stationary job. Welcome aboard the S26 from Winterthur to Rüti. This line takes us right through the Töss valley (Tösstal in German) in Zurich Highlands, named after the river Töss. It is a rural and quiet region, with a lot of colourful trees, many hills, mountains and beautiful views. This is the final video for this year, just in time for Christmas. I hope you enjoy the last cab ride of 2020 as much as I do. Merry Christmas and a happy new year! See you again in 2021.

Well here we are. After 150km of hiking (and the odd train) we are finally here in the Swiss town of Zermatt.
Home to the Matterhorn this gorgeous alpine village is home to lots of activities, hiking, and of course the glacier express, ALL of which feature in the travel vlog.

Glarus / Klausenpass: The FORGOTTEN sites of Switzerland – Luchsingen, Diesbachfall, Berglistüber
Glarus hosts wonderful landscapes; but sadly is only little visited by tourists. Let me tell you: Glarus is the home to some of the most beautiful waterfalls of Switzerland and the Klausenpass, which is one of the most stunning mountain pass roads!
Besides there are some very pretty villages such as Luchsingen, which are very much worth a visit! Luchsingen Glarus charms with its many beautiful traditional houses and its serene atmosphere. From there you also will get a great view over the surrounding Alps. Just nearby the village of Luchsingen is the Diessbachfall, which is one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Switzerland. Yet, only few people come here for visit and those who do are predominantly locals. Because of that I call this area one of the forgotten sites of Switzerland. Further up in the direction of Canton of Uri you will ascend on the pass road of the Klausenpass. It is one of the most impressive roads of Switzerland that takes you through a wonderful landscape. On the way up, don't forget to stop for visiting the Berglistüber waterfall, which is another hidden gem without tourists!
