The world is finally waking up to the charms of this little nation wedged between Romania and Ukraine. Moldova was famously dubbed the world's least happy place in a bestselling book in 2008, but today it's better known for its unspoiled countryside and superb wine tours. As one of Europe’s least visited countries, Moldova retains a measure of roads-less-travelled charm. But that’s changing quickly as budget flights from Western Europe take off.
Pretty much all roads in Moldova lead to its wine-and-food loving capital. While the city’s origins date back six centuries to 1420, much of Chişinău was levelled in WWII and a tragic earthquake that struck in 1940. The Soviets rebuilt it into what you see today: grandiose Stalinist architecture mixed with gloriously brutal modernism from the later Soviet period and a smattering of pre-WWII edifices.
Chişinău is a city of parks where retirees play chess in the shade of old-growth trees, of street festivals, and of sidewalk cafes where you can have a beverage and watch the world go by. A dozen superb wineries are within a 90-minute drive of Chişinău, and the super-central location puts the entire country within a day trip. Throw in a hip and happening nightlife, and Chisinau ticks off all the boxes for an effective weekend break.

Hiking prin Moldova | Cascadele secate din s. Oxentea

După s. Oxentea (Dubăsari) am descoperit un canion care duce la două cascade. Este un loc spectaculos care ma uimit și cu mare interes l-am explorat. În prezent cascadele sunt secate, apa curge foarte slab. Cascadele sunt înalte și uimitoare.
Foarte tare m-au uimit platformele mari de piatră care au fost nivelate în trecut de râul puternic care curgea prin acest loc. Pietrele sunt întratât de line parcă este suprafața oglinzii. Din acest fapt prin unele locuri este nevoie de traversat atent deoarece este foarte lușuios.

Die 1436 als Klosterdorf gegründete, und nach einer Grundwasserquelle benannte Hauptstadt von Moldawien, gehört zu den am wenigsten bereisten Hauptstädten in Europa. Obwohl der aus der UdssR hervorgehende Staat in Osteuropa so vielfältig ist, und mit unberührter Natur punkten kann, wird Chisinau von weniger als 200.000 Touristen pro Jahr besucht. Sehenswürdigkeiten wie das Dorfmuseum von Chisinau, die Kaskadentreppe, und die ewige Flamme von Chisinau, sind stumme Zeugen der Sowjetzeit, die heute noch anhand der Architektur und anhand von Denkmälern erahnt werden kann. Zudem beeindruckt Chisinau mit einer leckeren moldawischen Küche, und sowohl der Walk of Fame von Chisinau, als auch das Ciuflea Kloster, überzeugen Touristen davon, dass Chisinau unberechtigt zu den am wenigsten bereisten Hauptstädten Europas gehört.
