Saudi Arabia's New First Class Night Train: 1,200km through the desert from Riyadh to Qurayyat
Hello and welcome to Riyadh! Saudi Arabia has a relatively young history of passenger railways. Tonight, I am going to travel on the newly launched overnight train from Riyadh to Qurayyat. The 1,242km journey will take just over 11 hours, I expect the private sleeper cabins to be modern, clean, and comfortable. I’m excited to try it out. Let’s go!

TAKING THE TRAIN TO HOFUF: Our experience on Saudi Railway from Dammam to Al Hofuf, Saudi Arabia.
Today we took our first train in Saudi Arabia from Dammam to Al Hofuf (the journey goes onwards to Riyadh); a short journey of less than two hours train travel. And we can confirm the train ride was smooth as!
Rail transport is not a particularly popular mode of travel in KSA yet (cars are definitely the big way to get around) but from a travel perspective it felt like a fairly economical way to travel across the country (which is huge in land-size and the 13th largest country in the world!).
We look forward to sharing more of our family travel adventures in Saudi Arabia!
