The Amalfi Coast is home to numerous coastal villages, and one of the most picturesque remains the village of Positano. If you’ve seen a postcard featuring the Amalfi Coast, chances are you were seeing Positano! The village features numerous pastel buildings that are a sight to behold, and it also has a couple of beaches. The village’s main beach is Marina Grande Beach, which is also one of the most popular beaches along the coast as a whole. Overlooking the village of Positano is the Path of the Gods, which is a mild four-mile-long hike with some incredible views.

While Positano is the Amalfi Coast’s most popular village, Sorrento is its most popular town. The town of Sorrento is oftentimes bustling, but it can be worth it to face the crowds to get some gelato or limoncello. There’s also the town of Amalfi, which serves as the coast’s namesake. Amalfi used to be the most bustling town in the area before a devastating earthquake destroyed much of its industry. However, the town of Amalfi still has some historic sights to offer tourists.

There is a pair of sea caves along the Amalfi Coast known as the Emerald Grotto and the Blue Grotto. The Emerald Grotto shines green when the sun shines through it, and it’s located in the town of Conca dei Marini. Meanwhile, the Blue Grotto shines blue when the sun shines through it, and it’s located on the island of Capri. From hiking the Path of the Gods to exploring the town of Sorrento, join ViewCation as we explore the best things to do on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

The Hungarian City Built Over 80 Underwater Caves

As one of Europe’s most famous cities, Budapest has become a tourist hotspot known for its history, its architecture and its love of water. While most people soak above the surface in the city’s famed geothermal baths, below the metropolis lies a secret subterranean world ripe for exploration. The Hungarian capital is home to over 80 geothermal springs. As this naturally heated water flowed deep below the Earth’s surface, it carved out hundreds of caves, making Budapest home to the largest collection of thermal caves in the world. Though divers have charted more than four miles of tunnels since the 1950s, much remains to be explored.

This Great Big Story was made in partnership with the Hungarian Tourism Agency. (

Exploring San Diego's Seaport Village

A guided walking tour of Seaport Village in San Diego, California. Seaport Village is one of San Diego's top tourist destinations -- a charming collection of classic cottages along San Diego's bay with 50+ shops, 17 eateries, 4 bayside restaurants, and even a carousel! This is one of my favorite places to take visitors in my hometown. With four miles of meandering cobblestone pathways bordered by ponds, lakes, fountains and colorful landscaping it's a great place to have a relaxing weekend afternoon.

Travel Talk Tuesday: November 2, 2021- Ischia Island

I’ve spent the last two weeks poking around the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Although I have been to Naples, Capri, the Amalfi coast, and Sorrento several times in the past, on this trip, I was out to explore the area in depth, write about it, and design a new Exploring Europe tour itinerary from my research.

Ischia is an island located in the Bay of Naples. It is covered with mountains, lush green forests, and many thermal hot springs. In fact, most visitors to this island come to hike the mountains and relax in the thermal baths. This island of 60,000 people has six major towns, all scattered around the island’s perimeter. It is about six miles, east to west, and four miles, north to south. About 18 square miles. I recently spent four days here, exploring the island and checking it out for a new tour destination. I’ll definitely be back!

Best Hotels BALI, Indonesia (2022) ???????? - The Best Luxury Hotels & Resorts In BALI (Top 5)

Best Hotels Bali

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan

Rising out of rice fields above the Ayung River, the Four Seasons Sayan is a sophisticated tropical resort offering swish facilities, sterling service and experiences to remember, from biking through local villages to art tours and beautiful Balinese healing rituals.

The Bulgari Resort Bali

This decadent destination on Bali's south-western shore combines exotic tropical beauty with high-end Italian sophistication. From the elegant villas and five-bedroom mansions, to the striking infinity pool, posh black-and-white restaurant and the brand's trademark boutique, this may be Bali's chicest holiday address.

Cascading down a lush hillside towards the Indian Ocean on Bali's southern coast, the resort's epic Uluwatu location is one of pristine beauty. There's not much within walking distance, just narrow village roads lined with skinny cows and modest shops, but it's only four miles (six km) from sweeping ocean views at the famed cliff-top Uluwatu Temple, and 11 miles (18 km) from Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Four Seasons at Jimbaran Bay

A stack of new luxury hotels may have hit Bali's shores of late, but this restorative beach-side idyll, refurbished last year, continues to see off the competition with its fabulous facilities, superlative spa and exceptional staff.

It's got a great perch at the end of Jimbaran Bay, a relatively sleepy beachside town known for its silvery-gold sands lined with brilliant barbecue seafood shacks. There's not a lot else in the immediate area but the boutiques and bars of Seminyak are a cheap and easy 30-minute taxi ride away. The airport can be reached in 20 minutes – a blessing in Bali's notoriously bad traffic – making it the ideal first stop on an island tour.

Katamama

The beautiful design and carefully curated services (and cocktails) could convince you to spend your whole holiday at this hotel. However, with one of Bali’s most-loved beach clubs right next door and the chic boutiques of Seminyak nearby, you might be tempted to step outside.

Bisma Eight

A petite natural beauty with a big personality—the contemporary raw-concrete architecture and rustic materials ensure this all-suite boutique hotel in the jungle is in harmony with leafy Ubud. At the rooftop restaurant, the earth-to-table menu is made up of ingredients from their own organic gardens.

Tel Motza (near Jerusalem)-Archaeologists Unearth 9,000-Year-Old Settlement. Guide-Luisa Levi Cester

Luisa Levi - Tour Guide in Israel for English, Italian, Spanish and Hebrew Speakers.
Israel is an extraordinary country, which includes in a relatively small area the richest choice of landscapes, geographical zones, different people, cultures and religions. On the same day, we can sky on the Hermon mount, and then drive to Eilat and discover the amazing underwater world of the Red Sea. We can stroll around the trendy Tel Aviv for shopping, and soon after visit an ancient desert monastery to meditate on the meaning of life…

If you are spending your holidays in Israel, if you are on a business trip, or if you are planning a cruise land excursion, I would like to offer you my 20 years experience in this country. In particular, I would like to share with you my knowledge of local history, archaeology, religion and art, and most of all my passion for this place – with all its issues.

It will be a pleasure to accompany you in the discovery of such interesting sites.

Archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) have uncovered the remains of a large Neolithic-period settlement near the modern town of Motza, about 3 miles (5 km) west of Jerusalem.

Large 10th century BCE worship complex being excavated at Motza in ancient Judah; 4 miles from Temple Mount, the site was ‘sanctioned’ by Jerusalem administration, say, archaeologists

Solomon’s Temple on the Jerusalem Temple Mount was likely not the only site of centralized worship in the Holy Land region of Judah, according to research newly published in the Biblical Archaeology Review by a team of archaeologists from Tel Aviv University and the Israel Antiquities Authority.

A massive Iron Age II temple complex, which stood from around 900 BCE until circa the early sixth century BCE, is currently being excavated at Tel Motza, just seven kilometers (four miles) northwest of ancient Jerusalem’s City of David. First discovered in 2012, the Motza temple is contemporaneous with the First Temple in Jerusalem and uses the same architectural plan.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered licensed tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.

Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.

In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)

Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water, and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many-faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be implanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Train trip to the Jungfrau Mountain at the Top of Europe, near Interlaken and Grindelwald, Switzerland. Europe's highest railroad line will bring you up to a spectacular world of perpetual winter, dominated by massive, snow-covered peaks reaching over 13,000 feet high and surrounding the continent's longest glacier. Many consider the train ride up one of the finest, most picturesque in the world, where getting to the top is half the fun. The journey from Interlaken to Grindlewald can be easily made on the Bernese Overland railway, and it travels on a scenic route through the valley and along the river and passes several villages. There are magnificent mountain views all along the way.
The hundred-year-old rail line from Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch is one of Europe's great engineering wonders, the world's highest subway climbing through four miles of tunnels inside the rock. The beginning of this 50-minute journey is not underground, and momentarily offers a great view; so sit on the right side of the train. The train makes two brief stops enroute to let everyone out for a walk through short tunnels to viewing stations, where you look through windows at the nearby mountain peaks and the landscapes far below.
Upon arrival at the end of the rail line, you walk through an ice tunnel decorated with ice carvings and then approach a sight too amazing for description or film. You really have to pay your dues and go there in person to experience the exhilaration of standing at the top of the world, surrounded by Alpine giants of snow. The observation deck and snowfield are at 11,350 feet, flanked by the jagged peaks of the Jungfrau (13,642 ft.) and the Mönch (13,449 ft.), which form a valley that cradles the Aletsch Galcier, an endless field of snow that stretches 13 miles to the horizon.
Plan on spending an hour or two at the top, playing in the snow and exploring the various levels and exhibits of the visitor center, then catch a convenient train back down the route you came. You return to Kleine Scheidegg, where you can change trains for a different return route that will take you through Wengen and down to Lauterbrunnen.
