DENDERA Temple ALIEN's LIGHT Bulb ? BEST THINGS TO SEE I ???? Qena City in N EGYPT

???? Did Ancient Egyptians Have Electric Lamps?
The image known as the Dendera light is found on three stone reliefs in the temple and, at first glance, could be construed as a bulb similar to a Crookes tube, with a lotus “socket” at one end, a “cable” traveling underneath, and a snake-shaped cord “filament”⚡ ⚡ ⚡ inside. In the most popular representation of the so-called Dendera light a priest is shown holding up the “lamp” and a few smaller figures are seen below it.

???? ???? ???? One of the figures appears to be directing the “lightbulb” upwards. A two-armed Djed pillar is also shown with the “bulb” and the hands are apparently connected to the snake/cord inside. A baboon is presented in front of the “lamp” while holding two knives in front of itself.

???? ???? ???? The Dendara Complex is one of the best-preserved temple complexes in Egypt.

The best temple are those those not swarming with tourists.
At Dendera, wandering the quiet, cool colonnade, looking up in awe,
Actually Queen Cleopatra VII (yes, that Cleopatra) wrapped up construction.
The Temple of Hathor remains — in fact, with Philae, it’s one of the best-preserved temples of the Greco-Roman period in Egypt.
Hathor was one of the most popular goddesses in the Egyptian pantheon
was associated with fertility and female sexuality. (No surprise that the Greeks connected her with Aphrodite.

The sky goddess Nut frames this part of the ceiling, swallowing the sun at twilight and giving birth to it in the morning. You can also see signs of the zodiac, including Taurus the Bull and Sagittarius the Archer
It features a chart of the heavens, including signs of the zodiac, which the Romans introduced. You’ll also see the goddess Nut in her typical position: straight-armed and straight-legged, forming three sides of a square to represent the sky. ????️ Every evening she swallows the sun, which then passes through her body, until she gives birth to it the next day at dawn.

⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️Secret passageways lead to subterranean crypts, where treasure was hidden away.

The walls are covered with the most bizarre hieroglyphics we have seen on this trip.

???? After descending into the secret passageway, we took a corridor up to the top of the temple. It spiraled up gradually as a tribute to the falcon-headed god Horus, mimicking the circling pattern of the birds of prey when rising into the sky.

At the top of the structure is a small temple that was used for rituals to greet the rising sun.

How To Travel LUXOR GUIDE in 2 Days ! ????

???? The Nile River splits Luxor into two parts: the East Bank and the West Bank.

The East Bank of Luxor is the location of Luxor town. This is where most Egyptians live and work and it is also where you will find the majority of hotels and restaurants. There notable sites to visit on this side of the river, (Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple) are two of the most spectacular sites to visit in Egypt.
The West Bank of Luxor is where the ancient Egyptians buried the dead. Each night, the sun sets on the West Bank, so this became the necropolis, the area that is filled with tombs and mortuary temples, including the famous Valley of the Kings.

EAST BANK OF LUXOR
There are four main sites to visit on the East Bank of the Nile River. Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple are amazing and well worth several hours of your time.
KARNAK TEMPLE COMPLEX
is the second largest temple complex in the world (Angkor Wat in Cambodia is the largest). For over 2,000 years, starting in 2000 BCE, temples, monuments, and buildings were added to the complex. Approximately 30 pharaohs added something to the Karnak Temple Complex.
#LUXOR #TEMPLE #KARNAK #GUIDE
Luxor Temple looks and feels like a smaller version of Karnak Temple, although this temple served a different purpose than many found in and around Luxor. This temple is not dedicated to one particular god or pharaoh. Instead, it may have been where many of the kings of ancient Egypt were crowned

Together with the Valley of the Kings, for me, this was among the best places to visit in Luxor.
WEST BANK OF LUXOR
First of all, you need to bear in mind that the West Bank is composed of 14 archaeological sites, plus the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, spread across a huge area. Visiting them on foot isn’t really an option, as several kilometers separate them. I’d recommend hiring a private car

The list of things to do on the West Bank is very long. The Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut top the list for many visitors but this side of the Nile River is literally a treasure trove of spectacular tombs and temples.
VALLEY OF THE KINGS

I
Currently, eight tombs are included on the main ticket into the Valley of the Kings. Your entrance ticket will allow you to visit three of these tombs. If you want to see more than three tombs, you will have to purchase an additional ticket. There are three additional tombs that you can visit with an extra ticket. Here is the list with the additional price for each tomb.

If you want to see King Tut, Seti I or Ramses V & VI, you’ll pay extra.
KV9 – Ramesses V & VI 100 EGP per person
KV17 – Seti I 1,000 EGP per person
KV62 – Tutankhamun 300 EGP per person

VALLEY OF THE QUEENS
If you want to get an idea of what the tombs looked like 3,000 years ago, put the tomb of Queen Nefertari on your list.
MORTUARY TEMPLE OF QUEEN HATSHEPSUT
t ancient Egyptian temples is that they weren’t just designed and built to look pretty. They built them to co-ordinate with the stars, sun and moon.
For example, the axis of Hatshepsut’s temple aligns directly with the Winter Solstice sunrise

This temple, with its three terraces and location in the cliffs of Deir el-Bahri, has a much different appearance than many other temples in Egypt. It is dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most powerful female rulers of ancient Egypt.
COLOSSI OF MEMNON
The twin statues of Amenhotep III gaze east towards the Nile River. These two statues greet visitors as they arrive on the West Bank of Luxor. Most tour groups and taxis will stop here for ten minutes just for a quick photo op and explanation of these statues..

Check out Madinat Habu
A lot of tour groups skip this gem and that’s exactly, why you need to go! It’s not that it’s rubbish either, I just think tour companies get stuck for time.

THE LUXOR PASS
The Luxor Pass is a single ticket that includes all of the archaeological sites on the West Bank and East Bank of Luxor. There are two versions of this pass.
The standard Luxor Pass includes all of the sites on the East and West Bank, with the exception of the tombs of Seti I and Nefertari. The Luxor Pass costs $100 USD for adults, $50 USD for people under 30 ye
The Premium Luxor Pass includes all of the archaeological sites on the East and West Banks, as well as the tombs of Seti I and Nefertari. The Luxor Premium Pass costs $200 USD for adults, $100 USD for people under 30 years with a valid student ID card.

If you plan to visit Luxor for at least two days, with visits to everything we list here for the West Bank, as well the main sites on the East Bank, then the Luxor Pass is worth it.
DENDERA & ABYDOS
Just north of Luxor sit two of the best-preserved temple complexes in Egypt. The sacred city of Abydos is home to the temple of Seti I. The Hathor Temple in Dendera is one of the most colorful temples in Egypt, with an intricately detailed ceiling and one of the most awe-inspiring hypostyle halls that we saw in Egypt.

Egypt, Hurgada smer Qena 3 - 8

Qena je mesto v Hornom Egypte a hlavné mesto guvernéra Qeny. Nachádza sa na východnom brehu Nílu a bol známy v staroveku ako Kaine a Maximianopolis. Gauthier identifikuje Qenu so starým Shabtom.
Turisti, ktorí cestujú medzi Luxorom a Červeným morom, budú bezpečne prechádzať týmto mestom, pretože existuje len jedno dobré cestné spojenie. Qena je známa svojou keramikou. Qena je tiež známa svojimi nádhernými obrovskými horami a zelenou prírodou.

Temple of Dendera, Qena, Egypt (December 2023)

The Temple of Dendera, also known as the Temple of Hathor, is an ancient Egyptian temple located on the west bank of the Nile River, near the city of Qena. Dedicated to the goddess Hathor, the temple dates back to the Ptolemaic period and was later expanded during the Roman era. Renowned for its well-preserved and intricate reliefs, the temple features a variety of chambers, halls, and courtyards adorned with depictions of deities, pharaohs, and religious scenes.

The most notable structure within the complex is the grand Hathor Temple, characterized by its impressive hypostyle hall and the iconic Dendera Zodiac, a well-known ancient astronomical relief. The Temple of Dendera stands as a testament to the architectural and artistic achievements of ancient Egyptian civilization.

ExploreTube | Luxor City in 6 minutes

Located in Upper Egypt Luxor has been described as the world’s largest open-air museum. Nowadays it has been elevated to the status of governorate, although it is still classified as being in the province of Qena. Luxor has a population of round about 230,000, most of whom are employed in tourism somehow, although there are many who are employed in agriculture and commerce. Luxor is one of the most popular destinations in Egypt and qualifies as one of those places that you simply must see. Because of this almost every Egyptian tourist company has an office somewhere in the town.

It has been estimated that Luxor contains about a third of the most valuable monuments and antiquities in the whole world, which makes it one of this planet’s most important tourist sites. Monuments such as The Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, Deir El-Bahri (the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut), the worker's village at Deir El-Medina, the list goes on and on and on. Alhough most visitors will stay for just a few days, it would take a substantial amount of time to visit everything in this amazing town.

Once known as Thebes, Luxor’s importance in ancient Egyptian history cannot be denied. It was the religious capital almost all throughout the Pharaonic period which is why the town is dominated by the two temples: the Temple of Luxor and the immense Temple of Karnak: the world’s largest temple complex.

Dedicated to the ancient Egyptian god Amun Ra, the Temple of Karnak was constantly expanded by successive pharaohs, each adding his, or her, tribute to the god. The site dates back to the Middle Kingdom under the reign of Mentuhotep (11th Dynasty), but most of what can be seen today are from the New Kingdom. Other parts of the complex include sites dedicated to Mut, the wife of Amun Ra, and their son Khonsu.

Most people know that Luxor was once Thebes, but “Thebes” was not what the ancient Egyptians called it. Ancient texts show that it was called T-apt, “The Shrine”, with the ancient Greeks calling it Tea Pie. The Arabs had problems with pronunciation and so it became Thebes to them. The name vanished then as the area submitted to the desert and then by the 10th-century Arab travelers thought the ruins were of grand buildings so started to call it Al-Oksour, or “site of the palaces” which evtnually became Luxor.

Luxor is situated 670km (416 miles) to the south of Cairo, 220km (137 miles) to the north of Aswan, and 280km (174 miles) to the west of Hurghada. It is the second most popular place to visit in Egypt, behind Cairo, and is accessible in a number of ways.

HURGADA or SHARM - What' s BETTER in RED SEA ? ???? How to travel Egypt

Location, Prices, Weather, Hotels, Excursions, The sea and The beaches: we' ll compare each of this factors to help you find out which one is the right destination for you between Sharm el Sheikh and Hurgada.

0:00 Intro
0:10 Location
1:16 Sea & Beaches
2.16 Hotel & Resorts
2:50 Weather
3:30 City & Things to do
5:15 Excursions
6:05 X Factor Egypt

Sharm is on the Southern tip of the sinai Peninsula; while Hurgada is 200km away on the other side of the Red Sea, along the Eastern cost of Egypt - now, while It’ s gonna take you about 3 hours by ferry to get from one city to the other; if you decide to make this trip by car is gonna take you more than 8 hours of driving as you now have to travel 800km by land -

Hurgada is a coastal city, and is situated close to many important cities that you may wanna visiti like Luxor and the valley of the kings- Sharm el Sheikh is far more laidback, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. a gem set in the azure waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, has probably its name to the luster of its rocks.

WEATHER

Egypt is a warm country, and while there is no big difference between Sharm and Hurgada’ s weather, you may find that Sharm is a bit warmer, so if you consider traveling to the Red Sea in winter you may opt to come here.

Beware than other than the temperature, you have to take into consideration wind. Coastal cities in Egypt can be pretty wind, and that’ s why here you ‘ ll find some of the worlds top destination for Kite and Windsurf.
Anyway, before you leave you can check the weather forecast on one of the multiple dedicated website available on line.

Overall, there is no big difference in terms of temperature condition between Sharm and Hurgada.

BEACHES AND SEA

Next, we’ ll talk about the beaches and the sea.
The Red Sea is a world-class diving destination: the stunning reefs, exceptional marine life, and incredible corals draw tourists from all around the world.

If you want to explore the wonders of the sea the clear winner here is Sharm el Sheikh the resort house reefs along this stretch of coastline are second-to-none. There are also numerous accessible wrecks here, including the famous SS Thistlegorm, Dunraven, and Carnatic to name a few.

Conversely, if all you want is relax with your spouse while the kids are playing with the sand by the beach, Hurgada may be a better option for you. Most of the resorts here have long sandy beach, and you can access the shallow waters without wearing special shoes.

From Hurgada you can also organize a trip to MarsaAlam , where you’ ll find pristine reefs that can compete with those in Sharm., ,

HOTELS

The Red Sea has a range of resorts from budget and beachfront to lavish properties you’ ll never need to leave: pools and spas, restaurants, animation activites, slides for children, water sports, night beach clubs
While once Sharm’ s hotels were superior, recently many Hurgada’ s resorts have been renovated ; In both cities you will find incredible hotel furnished with all the amenities you may need .

So here we have no clean winner - as in the end what really makes a difference is how much you wanna spend and what kind of hotel you’ ll choose.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The next point is infrastructures of the city, the attractions available, the walking areas and the nightlife.

Both in Sharm and Hurgada you’ ll have plenty of Promenade where you can hang out after the sun sets - the most famous being Naama Bay in Sharm and Marina in Hurgada.
And the same is true for restaurant, bars and nightclubs: if you’ re coming to the Red Sea you have plenty of chances to enjoy your time out.

Nonetheless, being Hurgada a bigger city than Sharm - you may find here more options than in Sharm - especially if you take a 15min ride cab to El Gouna, a favorite of Egyptian’ s rich and wealthy who come here to enjoy the trendy bars and open-air discos.

As we ve seen before Sharm is a gigantic town built in the desert whose whole economy gravitates around tourism; and people living here are mainly staff working in the hotels and their families.

Hurgada is an actual city. Here you can watch Egypt from different point of view - not only the hotels and the lush beaches, but also the city where the locals live, the fish markets, the souks and the bazar. Watch the Hurgada walkthrough in the channel to know more about the ‘old town’ el Dahar - an area where most of locals live and it’ s an eye-opening look into the ‘real’ city.

???? Hurgada is cheaper; convenient stores, excursions and souvenir are cheaper, especially because the market here is not only for tourists but all ofor locals,
