The Cuban government has implemented various policies to mitigate the impact of economic challenges on its citizens. For example, the country operates a dual currency system. The CUC is primarily used in the tourist sector, while the CUP is used by locals for basic goods and services. However, this system has led to inequality in the distribution of wealth, with those working in the tourist sector receiving higher wages than those in other sectors.

Cuban Byways VLOG - A Trip around Eastern Cuba - Tourism locations (Holguin and Guardalavaca)

VLOG of my trip to Cuba in the winter. Using Club Amigo resort as a home base, I rented a car with my guide Yuri and hit the road! Leaving the fun kayak and catamaran tours behind I searched for the views the countryside had to offer. I visited places like Chorro de Maita museum where I saw skeletons and burial sites alongside the historic sites where Christopher Columbus landed. I learned about the Cuban tribes and history, saw the church where Fidel Castro was married and went up Hill of the Cross in Holguin. I ended off snorkeling with the fish and a train ride through the county side in Cuba. A great way to explore Eastern Cuba (Banes and Holguin). Check out my other videos in this VLOG series!

Gibara - Cuba La Villa Blanca # 2

Produccion :

Steps of Calle Padre Pico in Santiago de Cuba

Calle Padre Pico, in the Tivoli neighborhood, is one of the most famous streets of Santiago de Cuba. The staircase Padre Pico has 52 steps, grouped into 13 blocks of 4 steps each. The staircase was built in 1899 by order of the mayor Emilio Bacardi Moreau and officially inaugurated on October 2, 1903. At the top you have a beautiful view on the street. It was Emilio Bacardí how proposed the name Padre Pico in honor of Bernardo del Pico Redin, a former priest who was very popular in Santiago de Cuba by his beneficent work in Belen's Convent.
