ODESSA IS THE THIRD MOST POPULOUS CITY OF UKRAINE

Odesa (or Odesa in Ukrainian) is the third most populous city of Ukraine and a major tourism center, seaport, and transportation hub located on the northwestern shore of the Black Sea. Odesa is also an administrative center of the Odesa Oblast and has been a multiethnic city since its formation.

Odesa is the only city in Ukraine with a credible claim to have its own cuisine and this is supported by several gastronomic festivals. It is also known throughout the Russian and form-Soviet lands for its distinctive sense of humor and musical style, and also for its highly developed infrastructure of sanatoriums and other health resorts. It is also a major tourist center with over 150 large events per year.

Odesa is located on the shore of the Odesa Gulf on the northwest coast of the Black Sea, at a distance of about 39 kilometers from the border with Moldova. The total length of the coastline of Odessa is about 30 km. Like any seaside city, Odessa is famous for its beaches, there are a lot of them, and the coastline from Lanzheron to the Great Fountain is, in fact, one continuous city beach.

The climate of Odessa is temperate-marine with subtropical features: mild winter; relatively long spring; warm, long, often very hot summer; long and warm autumn. The average temperature in January is minus 0.5 degrees Celsius, and in July - plus 22.6 degrees Celsius. The local climate is characterized by a large number of sunny days (250-300).

Odesa is the largest seaport in Ukraine transporting grain, sugar, coal, oil products, cement, metals, jute, timber, and products of the machine-building industry. The city is also a major railway center. The main industries are oil processing, engineering, metalworking, light, food, woodworking, agricultural, and chemical industries.

The resort area of Odesa stretches for tens of kilometers along the Black Sea coast. One of the most popular resorts and entertainment districts of Odessa is Arcadia. On its territory, there are sanatoriums, rest houses, as well as a hydropathic institution, a resort polyclinic, a tourist base, hotels, numerous restaurants and nightclubs, and other entertainment facilities.

Top Tourist Attractions in Odesa: Odesa Opera and Ballet Theatre, Potemkin Stairs, Deribasivska Street, City Garden, Primorsky Boulevard, Odesa Passage, Monument to the Founders of Odesa, Transfiguration Cathedral, Archaeological Museum, Vorontsov Palace, Langeron Beach, Port of Odesa, Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art.

Ukraine Odesa Beach Walk. Black sea coastline walking.

Odessa is the third most populous city of Ukraine and a major tourism center, seaport and transport hub located in the south-west of the country, on the northwestern shore of the Black Sea. The city is also the administrative center of the Odessa Raion and Odessa Oblast, as well a multiethnic cultural center. Odessa is sometimes called the pearl of the Black Sea, the South Capital (under the Russian Empire and Soviet Union), The Humor Capital and Southern Palmyra.
Before the Tsarist establishment of Odessa, an ancient Greek settlement existed at its location. A more recent Tatar settlement was also founded at the location by Hacı I Giray, the Khan of Crimea in 1440 that was named after him as Hacibey (or Khadjibey). After a period of Lithuanian Grand Duchy control, Hacibey and surroundings became part of the domain of the Ottomans in 1529 and remained there until the empire's defeat in the Russo-Turkish War of 1792.
In 1794, the city of Odessa was founded by a decree of the Russian empress Catherine the Great. From 1819 to 1858, Odessa was a free port—a porto-franco. During the Soviet period, it was the most important port of trade in the Soviet Union and a Soviet naval base. On 1 January 2000, the Quarantine Pier at Odessa Commercial Sea Port was declared a free port and free economic zone for a period of 25 years.
During the 19th century, Odessa was the fourth largest city of Imperial Russia, after Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Warsaw. Its historical architecture has a style more Mediterranean than Russian, having been heavily influenced by French and Italian styles. Some buildings are built in a mixture of different styles, including Art Nouveau, Renaissance and Classicist.

The Pearl of the Black Sea - Odessa Ukraine - 4K City Walk

An Odessa City Walk recorded in Odessa, Ukraine in June 2021 featuring the Odessa National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet (Одеський національний академічний театр опери та балету), the Odessa City Hall (Будинок Одеської міської ради), the Odessa Archaeological Museum (Одеський археологічний музей), the Monument to Duc de Richelieu (Пам'ятник Дюку де Рішельє), the Monument to Catherine II (Пам'ятник засновникам Одеси), Palais-Royal Garden (парк Пале-Рояль), Misʹkyy Sad (Міський сад), the Monument to Leonid Utiosov (Пам'ятник Леоніду Утьосову), Derybasivska Street (Дерібасiвська), Primorsky Boulevard (Приморський бульвар).

Immerse into this magical ambience with the Minister of Ambience.

This is our last video from Ukraine, at least for 2021. Odessa is the third most populous city of Ukraine and a major tourism center, seaport, and transport hub located in the southwest of the country, on the northwestern shore of the Black Sea. Join us to explore the pearl of the Black Sea as it was in the summer of 2021. The tour begins on Derybasivska St from which we move westwards to explore an elegant city park called Misʹkyy Sad (literally - City Garden). A couple of famous city monuments are located here, including the Monument to Leonid Utiosov, which is traditionally a popular touristic spot for taking pictures. Jumping back onto Derybasivska we continue to move to find the most renowned city's landmark, the Odessa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet. The unique theater's acoustics of the horseshoe-designed hall allows performers to deliver even a whisper-low tone of voice from the stage to any part of the hall. Past the theater, we walk north towards the Black Sea and the coastline streets. The next destinations include the Monument to Catherine II, the Monument to Duc de Richelieu, the Odesa City Council building, and the Odessa Archaeological Museum. Through Palais-Royal Garden, we turn southwards and follow Katerynyns'ka St, the last area to be explored.

Excursion in Odessa Sightseeing tour

With the help of my favorite excursion in Odessa you’ll get a unique opportunity to get to know new and interesting information about the city, and above all, about its inhabitants – Odessans!

You’ll pass through the historic center of Odessa, a route which includes: the main street of the city hero – Deribasovskaya, visit of Teschin bridge (romantic place in the city) and recognizable the One Wall House. We’ll visit the Transfiguration Cathedral (beautiful Holy place), as well as the area on which it stands – Cathedral Square. Our tour also includes a visit to the park (pick and choose): Shevchenko Park or the Victory Park. Do not go past the amazing National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Select either the opera or ballet. It’s at your discretion. It is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Especially beautiful in different seasons are Seaside Boulevard (Primorsky) and Sea Port. And we’ll warm up in cozy cafes – Zucchini and Top café. Both of these places are with high level of service. And at night we’ll enjoy True Man and Morgan. If we’ll have time, in the same day, we can visit the Pushkin Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in Odessa or the Archaeological Museum. Such a set of interesting places, I’m sure, will please any tourist with its uniqueness and richness.

Ukraine Drone Flight: Ukraine is a large country in Eastern Europe known for its Orthodox churches, Black Sea coastline and forested mountains. Its capital, Kiev, features the gold-domed St. Sophias Cathedral, with 11th-century mosaics and frescoes. Overlooking the Dnieper River is the Kiev Pechersk Lavra monastery complex, a Christian pilgrimage site housing Scythian tomb relics and catacombs containing mummified Orthodox monks. The city of Odessa on the Black Sea is known for its grand Primorsky Boulevard, its 19th-century museums and theaters, plus the underground labyrinth of the Odessa Catacombs. The famed Potemkin Steps lead down to the waterfront, which is lined by beaches outside the city center. In western Ukraine, Lviv is known for its coffeehouses and Rynok Square, bordered by Renaissance, baroque and neoclassical buildings. The ruins of a 14th-century castle overlook the city in High Castle Park. Southeast of Lviv is the turreted, 14th-century Kamianets-Podilskyi Castle. The dense forests of the Carpathian Mountains stretch into Romania. [Source: wikipedia // Google]

ODESA 4K Ukraine ???????? Walking Tour in Winter 2023 Deribasivska Street | Opera House | Langeron Beach

Walking Odesa in 4k 60fps HDR
In this video, a walk around the city of Odesa, Ukraine. Shooting in 4K 60fps
Odesa is a city in Ukraine, located on the coast of the Black Sea.
The first signs of people on the territory of modern Odesa and its surroundings refer to the Upper Paleolithic era (58-38 centuries BC). In the 5th century BC c. on the site of the modern center of Odesa, there was an ancient Greek settlement - Harbor of Istrian. The remains of this colony were found under the modern Primorsky Boulevard at a depth of 1.5 meters, as well as on other streets of the city. In addition to this settlement, there are also about twelve other ancient Greek colonies on the territory of Odesa. In addition to others, on the opposite shore of the Odesa Bay was the settlement of Isiakon Harbor. The rivalry between the inhabitants of these colonies was determined by the fact that between them passed the border of the Greek city-colonies of Olbia (in the northeast from the Issiakon harbor) and Istria (in the south from the Istrian harbor). In the second half of the 4th - beginning of the 3rd century BC. Olbia came into conflict with the neighboring Greek colonies, Chersonese and Istria. The reason for the war was the dissatisfaction of the rulers of Olbia with spheres of influence in this region. At that time, the port of Istrian was a border outpost of Istria, so due to the war, this settlement fell into desolation at the end of the IV century BC. e., and the port of Isiakon existed for another two centuries.
Odesa is one of the Ukrainian cultural centers. This city has many theaters and museums that have many years of history. Many cultural figures were also born and raised in Odesa - pianists Emil Gilels and Svyatoslav Richter, violinist David Oistrakh, singers Leonid Utyosov and Valery Obodzinsky, composer Oskar Feltsman, actors, writers, artists. Theater art occupies a prominent place in the cultural life of the city. The most prominent and famous theater is the Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
