Travel Destination: Latvia
This summer we travelled close to home, through our country - Latvia. This short film is a reflection of this trip.
Featured places (in order of appearance):
- Kuldīga (with the widest waterfall in Europe)
- Jūrkalne (the beach on the Baltic shore)
- Alūksne (with very interesting boat houses)
- Vecpiebalga (with locally famous water lillies)
- Krāslava (a nice old town on the shores of river Daugava)
- Different other sights from above of river Daugava in Latgale region
- Foļvarka (and its bright blue Old Believers church)
- Aglona (with its famous Basilica)
- Līksna (its amazing church in the middle of almost nowhere)
- Sabile (the vineyard mentioned in the Guiness World Records book)
- Krustpils (the recently renovated castle)
- Preiļi (its manor in the process of being reborn)
- Velnezers (Devil's lake, a quiet and mysterious place in a forest near to Aglona)
- Vējiņi underground lakes (the only of its kind in the Baltics)
All this was shot mostly on Panasonic Lumix GH5, with some exceptions when I was being lazy - iPhone 12 Pro Max and Canon 5D Mark IV.

Pärnu - Limbaži [S1 Ep4] ????[Estonia Latvia Lithuania - Baltic Bicycle Touring Trekking]???????????? ???????? ????????. Danny Slant wakes up at 6:00 AM at Tiia Majutus Guesthouse Pärnu, Estonia, searches for a breakfast and finds it at Cafe Grande - Hotel Victoria. 8 am he is finally off riding his bicycle southbound on the Eurovelo bicycle path system towards Latvia. Combination of nice paved paths, some very busy super highway miles, sees some log cabins, hears the giant woodpeckers. Sees an old Lada Zhiguli car in Häädemeeste, Estonia. Meets some very sporty and cordial bicyclists in Kabli, Estonia , they are taking a group bicycle tour heading north towards Pärnu. I believe that was @richardandfionabelsten9762 and their friends in the bike tour group. Thank you Richard & Fiona for being one of my first subscribers. Stopped and talked to homemade sausage makers selling the delicious meat to their customers. Crosses border into Latvia in Ainaži, Latvia. Stops for lunch , yet again another Hesburger, he really likes them. Lunch is in Ainaži, Latvia. Sees a Hells Angel motorcycle member filling up his gas tank. Heads east and crosses the Salaca River at Mērnieki, Latvia. Has tough miles on gravel roads. Sees some beautiful male deer, giant bucks. Finally arrives at Limbaži, Latvia at Guesthouse (SweetHome). Gets his dinner, at KĻAVA in Limbaži, Latvia , best dinner thus far of the trip, takes a little walk back to the guesthouse and immediately falls asleep , it was another long long day of bike trekking , today's stats were 79 miles / 127 kilometers. #estonia #latvia #lithuania #bicycleride .
