Calle de Ponzano is really easy to get to. It’s only a few Metro stops north of the centre. Head for Metro stops Iglesia or Alonso Cano. If you look on Google Maps ( you’ll see that most of the bars are between Calle Rio Rosas to the north, and the start of the street about 4 blocks south. It gets really busy on weekends and evenings. We were there on a Wednesday at lunchtime which is when it’s quieter.

Here are the places we went to, and the address, and what we ordered

1. El Doble
Old school beer and seafood bar - true Madrid! There are two on the street - we went to the original at this address:
We ordered:
Media ración of boquerones en vinagre: €7
Ventresca salad with tomatoes: €15

Modern tapas bar/restaurant where they create imaginative and delicious dishes from fantastic raw ingredients, and with a little bit of a show too. Location:
We ordered:
Rolex: €6.50
Chuletón Zenital: €9.00

3. Fide
Another famous traditional bar, with a particular focus on seafood. There are also two of these in the street, and we went to the original here:
We ordered:
Zamburiñas (scallops): €12

Patatas Bravas: €6.50

5. DeAtún

Treviso Italy travel guide

Treviso - town of Prosecco wine, classical arts and culture.
Treviso is a medieval city of water and art, to visit walking slowly, enjoying every corner, discovering unusual views, and breathing the peaceful, pleasure-loving city life. Treviso is further known for its countless works of great art, and for the magical atmosphere which takes a voyager by the hand and leads him along the many bridged streets, into the local restaurants to discover the taste for happiness which the residents of Treviso share, into the multitude of artistic and musical activities which animate the center of the city, and through the delights of its food and drink, such as its famous local radiccio, Tiramisù and Prosecco. By the way, Treviso is also home to the famous fashion brands Benetton, Replay and Stefanel, which makes a stroll along the shopping streets more than worth it.

MORE ABOUT THIS VIDEO ????
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Calle Cava Baja is a fantastic street for a tapas crawl in Madrid. It’s got about 50 tapas bars in just one street, and is in the heart of the famous La Latina neighbourhood. But with so many tapas bars, how can you pick the good from the bad? That’s where this video comes in? Yoly and I decided to hit 7 of our favourites.

Here is Calle Cava Baja on a map:

1. Taberna La Concha: I love this spot for a pre-lunch vermouth. They make their own vermouth, and serve it with a few extra ingredients to give it extra kick. They always pair it with a delicious tapa. And their cooked tapas and wine list are also excellent. A great start!

2. Diaz y Larrouy: The wine bar has been around since 1992 and so is one of the grandfather’ of this street. They have 30-40 wines per glass, and serve delicious tostas. An excellent option for cava by the glass.

3. La Posada de la Villa: There has been a posada (or inn) here since 1642, and I adore hitting the bar in this old tavern. It’s more of a restaurant, but the bar is a great place to grab a glass and even just enjoy the free tapa. It’s just full of history!

4. La Posada del Dragón: These guys do more modern tapas, and I love their tomato salad. But beyond the food, this place is extra special as beneath the glass floor you can see the remains of the medieval walls that once surrounded Madrid.

Honourable mention: La Perejila - great little tapas bar that just didn’t make the final cut.

5. Casa Lucas: Famous on Calle Cava Baja. This place is always packed, but does delicious modern tapas and tostas, and they have an excellent wine list. Don’t worry if you can’t get a table - just squeeze on up at the bar!

6. Taberna Tempranillo: Another classic wine bar that’s been around for a number of years. These guys do an eclectic selection of modern dishes, as well as tostas. And of course great wine by the glass. Also - the wine rack against the back wall is spectacular!

7. Los Huevos de Lucio: Opposite is a famous restaurant called Casa Lucio. And in that restaurant they’re famous for their huevos estrellados (aka. Huevos rotos or broken eggs). Opposite Los Huevos de Lucio is their tavern, and you can get the same dish there. It’s simple, but it’s delicious!

MORE ABOUT THIS VIDEO ????
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Have you been to Lisbon? It’s an incredible food city. And recently we launched our first Devour Tour there - our Tastes & Traditions of Lisbon Food Tour. And to celebrate it, I decided to make a video along with Ellis Dixon, our wonderful local operations manager and Lisbon expert. Get ready, because this Lisbon food tour is delicious!

So, where did we go?

1. Confeitaria Nacional: This place has been open since the early 1800s and it’s a fantastic place to start your day - a bica (espresso) and a pastry surrounded by gorgeous turn-of-the-century decor.

2. Ginjinha Sem Rival: I love this tiny little shop where you can get a bottle of Portugal’s famous cherry liqueur - and also take a shot of it at the bar. This place has been going since 1840!

3. O Trevo: You have to eat a bifana sandwich when you’re in Lisbon. It’s simple, but delicious - stewed pork, and then you douse it in piri piri sauce and yellow mustard. And this was the place Anthony Bourdain visited!

4. Casa Pereira: I love how this old shop smells like coffee, tea and chocolate. And the walls are lined with incredible bottles of port. So if you want to grab a bottle of port while in the city, this is your place!

5. Trobadores: This place is straight out of Game of Thrones. And despite seemingly a little tacky, it’s actually a place locals come to. You can drink mead (fermented honey) and grill chorizo sausage right at your table!

6. Bonjardim: Piri piri chicken is famous, and if you’re going to get it in Lisbon (and you should), this is the place! The chicken was so deliciously juicy, and the skin fabulously spicy.

7. O Gaiteiro: I love a good old school restaurant. And in Lisbon these tascas the best spots to order grilled fish: sardines, salt-cold and octopus. O Gaiteiro is a place we visit on Devour’s Lisbon food tour and it’s fantastic - great food, full of local clients.

8. Sol e Pesca: This former fishing shop still looks like… a fishing shop. Apart from the enormous display of canned fish. And please, don’t be afraid of canned fish - it can be absolutely delicious, and this is the place to try it!

9. Manteigaria: Custard tarts are everywhere in Lisbon, but not all custard tarts are created equal. These ones from Manteigaria have a wonderfully crispy and flaky pastry, and custard is like delicious molten lava. A plus, you can watch them making them through the glass window.

Dream of Italy: Full Tuscany Episode

The first episode of Dream of Italy (new PBS travel series) starts in the heart of Tuscany – Chianti – with a visit to Castello di Ama to learn how true Chianti Classico wine is produced and see the modern art that makes up the estate. The area is also famous for olive oil and we visit Pornanino to take part in the olive harvest. Nearby host Kathy McCabe meets the very special cashmere goats that Nora Kravis raises at Chianti Cashmere Farm. Then it is off to Panzano for a wild boar hunt with the La Squadra Chiantigiana and a visit with philosophical butcher Dario Cecchini. At Busatti in Anghiari, we watch 100-year-old looms craft fine fabrics. The episode ends on the captivating coast of Tuscany in Maremma with a stunning ride with the butteri (cowboys). Special thanks to our underwriters: Viator, Ama Waterways and Perillo Tours. For more information, visit

TOP 10 COUNTRIES TO VISIT IN EUROPE

TOP 10 COUNTRIES IN EUROPE WHERE YOU CAN ENJOY HOLIDAYS.
1. Vevey, Switzerland
The peaceful town of Vevey, on the shores of Lake Geneva near Montreux, hosts one of the world’s biggest (and rarest) wine festivals. The Fête des Vignerons – which was granted Unesco intangible cultural heritage status in 2016 – was founded in 1797 to honour the wine-makers of the Lavaux wine region, one of Switzerland’s premier wine appellations. This wine festival held just once every 20 years since the 18th century, this three-week wine festival is all about flamboyant costumed shows, cowbell-clanging parades, Alphorn concerts.
2. The Arctic Coast Way, Iceland
It was officially opened in 2019. The route includes six peninsulas reaching far out in the ocean, taking you from black sandy beaches to spectacular cliffs, along glacial river deltas and fjords to high mountains
3. Bari, Italy
Bari is a port city on the Adriatic Sea, and the capital of southern Italy’s Puglia region. Its mazelike old town, Barivecchia, occupies a headland between 2 harbors. Surrounded by narrow streets, the 11th-century Basilica di San Nicola, a key pilgrimage site, holds some of St. Nicholas’ remains. To the south, the Murat quarter has stately 19th-century architecture, a promenade and pedestrianized shopping areas
4. High Tatras, Slovakia
There’s something mythical about the landscape of Slovakia’s High Tatras, a lofty realm of crooked peaks and plunging waterfalls where snow willow blankets the ground and fearsome beasts patrol the forests. Eradicated from most parts of Europe, brown bears thrive in this wild, rugged region, and spotting one is easier than ever.
5.Madrid, Spain
Madrid, a legacy of centuries of exciting history is the capital of Spain. It is a cosmopolitan city that combines the most modern infrastructures and the status as an economic, financial, administrative and service centre, with a large cultural and artistic heritage,
The city’s nightlife, always among Europe’s best, just keeps improving – Calle de Ponzano, a strip of standing-only tapas spots and minimalist cocktail joints with its own trending hashtag, is now one of the continent's coolest nighttime streets
6. Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein is a soveraign country and German-speaking, 25km-long principality between Austria and Switzerland. It’s known for its medieval castles, alpine landscapes and villages linked by a network of trails. The capital, Vaduz, a cultural and financial center, is home to Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, with galleries of modern and contemporary art. The Postmuseum displays Liechtenstein’s postage stamps. The countries has the biggest bash on the country’s National Day, 15 August
7. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
This city epitomizes a partial centuries-old struggle against outside influences combined with the absorption of these influences into one of the most diverse cultures in Europe. Indeed, few places on earth feature an Orthodox and a Catholic church ,a mosque and a synagogue within easy walking distance of each other. If there were any city in Europe that effortlessly straddles east and west, it is Sarajevo.
8. Shetland, Scotland
Shetland ,where Scotland meets Scandinavia and north Sea meets Atlantic Ocean. It is 170 kilometres off the coast of mainland Scotland ,whose endeavor it rewards with awesome coastal trails, wicked wildlife watching and fabled fish and chip shops, plus a stiff dram of whisky or two courtesy of one of the proud, friendly locals.
Indeed a visit to Shetland has to be earned, with the overnight ferry from Aberdeen an adventure in itself, but once you’re here life takes a wonderful backstep: spot otters and orcas from craggy headlands, then ease into the evening at one of Lerwick’s local pubs. That is until the Viking-inspired Up Helly Aa festival bursts into life each January, when things get a lot more heated.
09. Lyon, France
A two thousand year old city, situated at the junction of the Rhône and Saône rivers, Lyon rests below the impressive Fourvière and Croix Rousse hills. In Lyon, visitors can take a unique journey through time and across cultures, by strolling down its narrow streets, crossing its “traboules“ (narrow secret passages), walking along its bustling docks, passing through its impressive squares, and seeing over 200 sites illuminated at night.
10. Istria, Croatia
Istria is indeed a feast for the eyes. Its streams flow to the sea through deep valleys and gullies which bring to mind the ancient local myths about giants. Rolling hills overlook the fields and valleys with little towns perched on the peaks, recalling some old paintings. The view is splendid: white-topped mountains, lush wheat fields, plateaux, valleys, vineyards and olive groves on hillsides, and, finally the sea.
