Albay is a province located in the Bicol Region in southeastern Luzon of the Philippines. Its capital is the city of Legazpi, the regional administrative center of the whole Bicol Region, which is located in the southern foothill of Mayon Volcano, the symbol most associated with the province.
Transportation
By water
Albay is the region's principal trans-shipment point with its ports: Tabaco International, Legazpi National, Pio Duran Provincial, and the Pantao Regional Port.
By air
Traveling to the province by air is served by the Legazpi Airport, the province's gateway from Manila and Cebu City in the Visayas. The larger Bicol International Airport is under construction in the municipality of Daraga, west of Legazpi City.

Lake Danao Natural Park in Barangay Danao is a small, scenic crater lake, located 15 kilometers from the town proper. It is nestled between Mt. Malinao and Mt. Masaraga. The rare tabios or sinarapan (Mystichtys luzonensis), the world’s smallest fish, is also cultured here. The lake is a 30-minute hike through carabao trails and abaca plantations. Better bring a guide.
Danao Lake offers an exhilirating environment, it is surrounded by lush and verdant vegetation and is haven for anlers asbig eels and other fresh water fish abound. Located at barangay Danao, Polangui, Albay with a land elevation of about 500 meters above sea level and with a distance of about 20 km. from the town.

Mt.Mayon is also famous for its eruption history. In 1814, it had one of the most destructive eruptions in Philippine history. The lava flows from that eruption killed more than 1,200 people and destroyed several villages. Despite its dangerous history, Mt.Mayon is still one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines because of its natural beauty

In this 34 minutes video we have another new episode again of our travel adventure to Bicol Region,Philippines feat. Lakes of Bicol Region which is our next destination is another lake again tthat has an awesome scenery and relaxing place to go in.This lake is called Lake Danao which is located in Brgy. Danao,Polangui,Albay which has an estimated area of 18 hectares and elevation deep of 997 feet that has an abundant freshwater creatures such as catfish,carps,tilapia,mudfish and Sinarapan which is the World's Smallest Edible Fish also there are also Endemic Bird's that residing here like Philippine Pygmy Woodpecker,Philippine Coucal and Philippine Bulbul.
According to some stories and legends that the origin of lake danao is come from a story which is long time ago there is no lake yet here and there is house stood here beside small lagoon which is used for bathing animals such as water buffalo and from this house there is a family had a maiden that soon to be married and when the time of the marriage of the maiden, on the time of the event while people enjoying,eating,talking to each other with joy and happiness for the newly wedding couple, An Old Beggar Lady came in suddenly to the wedding ceremony that asking for a food to ease his hunger, the mother of the maiden see her and approach her then she offer him the food but when she reach the old lady to give the food instead by giving the food to the Old Lady she give the food to the dog and outcasted her, instead by leaving the wedding ceremony the old lady go to the people who cooks food to the wedding ceremony and from here she asked for food and luckily she recieved a food from one of the people who cooks food then after this person give the food to the old lady, the old lady tell to this person that you need to leave here immediately because there will be a bad tragedy that will be happen to this ceremony.So the cook of the ceremony listened to the Old Lady warning then immediately leaves the place when the cermony happening after this the Old Beggar Lady had vanished in the thin air,after that the place where the ceremony is held became darkened followed by roar of thunders and striking of lightning then a strong wind formed and suddenly became a tornado when the people saw they immediately walks out to the ceremony but it's too late to escaped because the tornado is so strong even the trees,houses and other big animals caught immediately by the tornado hitted them and by this event all of the people on the event did not escaped from the tragedy even the newly wed and his family did not escaped from the rage of the tornado and at the same time strong heavy rains pour the location only the cook of the ceremony escaped from the tragedy.On the following day, a small formed of water appear to the location of the family of the newly wed maiden where it's look like an ocean in the middle of the forest,then when the time past by this formed of water in the middle of the forest is declared by residents who lived as a lake and called it Lake Danao.This is the story and legend of Lake Danao of Polangui,Albay.

SAWADEE GARDEN RESTAURANT | POLANGUI, ALBAY | BICOL TRAVEL
Sawadee is a Thai word that means hello. kha for women and khrap for men. Sawadee Garden is a newly opened restaurant located in Lanigay. It was our first time visiting that place and we found it cozy. Its owner mentioned that she used to work in Thailand back then and she thought of putting her knowledge into business which is food and beverage. The best time to visit this place is in the afternoon. Coming through there is a muddy road so you have to take extra care same with climbing the stairs as it has no handrail and is a bit stiff.

The road tour was held last June, 2021 (during pandemic). The Bicolandia was under GCQ and there were PNP checkpoints in Del Gallego, Camarines Sur and in Polangui, Albay. The travel for the 470-km distance from Manila to Legazpi City, Albay took us for 10 hours and 30 minutes. Though the traffic in the town/city proper were minimal because it was a Sunday.
I tried to be very detail in describing all the towns that we traversed, concise in video yet comprehensive in scope. I hope you will like this video!

Quituinan Hills is other one of those great spots to view the majestic Mayon Volcano. Also in this area, is a Japanese Tunnel just recently discovered and is believed to be used as a hiding spot during World War 2. My visit here is part of a 3-day organized Bicol tour.
