Road Trip Finding Lot 10 Dam Trinidad

In this video we go on a road trip searching for the dam in Lot 10, Parrylands, Guapo on the outskirts of Point Fortin Trinidad. As part of the search, we also see a snapshot of the petroleum history of Trinidad. The dam was constructed in the 1930's by United British Oilfields Trinidad (UBOT), the predecessor to Shell Oil Trinidad to supply water to the oil refinery in Point Fortin. It was previously a good place for freshwater fishing in south Trinidad for those who like fishing in ponds and rivers with guabine, coscurub, and cascadura. This video gives ideas on places to visit for those who enjoy a road trip in Trinidad, especially road trips in south Trinidad through the oilfield areas surrounding Point Fortin.

Safest Beach in south Trinidad

Trinidad and Tobago has many beaches, in this video we take a road trip to what may be considered the safest beach in south Trinidad. Along the way we travel on part of the new highway extension and see part of the countryside on the outskirts of Rousillac. Although we lost our way we eventually reconnected with our desired route to the beach in La Brea, which is called Station Beach.

PARAMIN TRINIDAD and Tobago Part 2 Road Trip Caribbean JBManCave.com

Part 2: Road trip to PARAMIN, a village in the Mountains of Trinidad, an island in the Caribbean. In this video, I take different roads to show you areas of Paramin not covered in Part 1. There are some who are sensitive to my comments about the surroundings -- these people are usually newcomers to JB's Man Cave. In no way, am I putting down people's houses or their economic status -- that is just ridiculous to assume. What I do talk about is the TRASH and GARBAGE that people leave around -- it is not outsiders doing that -- it is people from the area. This is NOT unique to Paramin this happens all over the country and I have made many videos about it. To believe otherwise is to live in an illusion about the reality of how things are in Trinidad with regards to how we keep our surroundings -- we CAN do a lot better. Also, I prefer green over concrete, blocks and structures that do little or nothing to enhance the country or an area -- taking care of your premises has nothing to do with class or how much money you have it has to do with community spirit!

Viewcations Caribbean Destination - Clifton Hill Beach - Trinidad Western Coast

Clifton Hill Beach is located on the southwestern coast on the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean. It is easily accessible  and lies on the outskirts of the Borough of Point Fortin and has a beach facility located on its shores for visitors. The resort has many amenities available inclusive of a bar, restaurant and changing facilities. Long expanses of shoreline with a gently sloping gradient into the brown tropical waters invite anyone to walk in get their bodies soaked. Very popular on weekends and holidays it is hard-pressed to find a spot to park your vehicle due to the amount of persons flocking to enjoy the seawater. From the beach the flares from the nearby hydrocarbon processing plants can be see standing as artificial torches along the shoreline. On the other end of the beach there are some mangroves and a river mouth that exits onto the beach which is home to many wildlife. For those more interested in photography than playful waves that are many species within this ecosystem habitat waiting to be captured on film. This beach is a nice getaway from the hassle and bustle of daily life and is one of those beaches that should be visited at least once or twice when you are in Point Fortin. As always once here take only photographs and leave with only beach fulfilled memories.

TIME OUT IN TRINIDAD - 1950s - Pt. 17 - Shell Camp Club Point Fortin

All footage contributed by Sooty 1312. This film is not to be copied without the express consent of the operator of this channel. Central to expatriate life in the southern oil camps was the Club. Each camp had its own and as Jennifer Franko mentions in her book, each club would advertise its events at other camp clubs across the oil belt. By far the largest were the clubs at Pointe-a-Pierre, Forest Reserve and Point Fortin but the other camps, no matter how small, each had its own and together they provided a vibrant and exciting social life for company employees, with any excuse used to put on another club event. This sequence details pleasant days around the pool at the Shell Camp Club and what a beautiful place it is! At the beginning, note the wrought iron grille with the initials UBC from the early days, before Shell, when the Point Fortin fields were operated by United British Oilfields. There is also a shot of the Forest Reserve Club, which looks much the same today, some 55 years later. Christmas Day, 1957 was spent at the club as well, with the children playing with their toy boats in the pool.

Best Beach in La Brea Trinidad

The Best Beach in La Brea Trinidad is Carat Shed Beach. The Beach got its name from several sheds that were originally roofed with Carat leaves but are now metal roofed and form part of a well-maintained beach facility. La Brea in southwest Trinidad is not often recognized as a beach destination with most individuals simply thinking of La Brea as the home of the Pitch Lake, yet La Brea has several nice beaches with the best of these being Carat Shed Beach.
