I fly on FlySafair from Mauritius to South Africa, sadly leaving Riki behind, but I'll be back after doing some paperwork. I show you around the international departures before boarding my flight. In economy, you get a small pack with a sandwich, cookie, health bar, and water. You can buy extra stuff on the flight from the attendants. As a budget airline it was better than some I have flown on in Europe.

Fruit and vegetable market - Pamplemousses, Mauritius
Pamplemousses market is a great beginner market. It doesn't have the huge hustle and bustle of some of the other markets, but it really is worth a visit. The street food section has some great food, a lot of which were new to us. Prepare to queue if you want a good dhal puri and when you get one they are very good. The veg section is all laid out under kiosks, giving it a great open-air feel. Down the side are all the clothes and assorted knickknacks. Come early on a Sunday morning it is open from 4am to 11am.

FIMP to FMEE (Plaine Magnien, Mauritius to Saint Denis de la Reunion, France) | Fun flight
The Traveler is currently on vacation with wife and pals in Mauritius and the next leg of their journey will take them to the nearby island of la Reunion. As their flight is occurring at a really inconvenient time of day, I am going to take the opportunity to do it in my evening and look at some DLC
For in-game DLC, we have the FSDG Mauritius pack again and adding the FMEE Roland Garros airport was done by a fan called Geoooffstw on flightsim.to. It's a really small pack because it has a couple of dependencies on downloading Mr. Mo's EDHK Lights and Objects pack along with Mikea.at's asset pack both found on flightsim.to
I figured out some issues with the PMP A330-300 were caused by the helicopter update in FS2020 changing my reverse thrust settings in the controls. This issue affected a number of flights before I discovered it. It's somewhat annoying that I will have to make it a habit to check all my controls on every update but thems the breaks. Speaking of brakes, I will need to re-check the A330-300 for rudder/brake compatibility as there were still numerous issues with the Toronto to Paris leg that I can't figure out yet.
To that end, I will try the A330-300 on a near future flight again, but for today's less than 30-minute hop to la Reunion, I'm going to take the PMDG 737-800 fighter jet with its house livery.
As we'll be doing a relatively low pass over Port Louis, I should reiterate the current graphics settings. I'm running a 3090 Ti at roughly 90% utilization with the following: 3840x2160 resolution, DLSS Super resolution enabled, DX11, Terrain LoD at 210, Objects level of detail at 95, pretty much all settings on High except for Terrain Vector Data = Ultra, Volumetric Clouds = Ultra (since I mostly stare at clouds, I like them to look nice), Texture Resolution = Ultra, Anisotropic filtering 8x, Supersampling 4x4, Shadow maps, 1536, Terrain shadows 512, Cubemap reflections 192.

Mauritius Curepipe City
Curepipe City is the second largest city in Mauritius and this was filmed in 2012. It is interesting to see the changes filmed recently by the Mauritian Vloggers.It's always a busy, popular shopping centre with historic colonial buildings.The Curepipe Botanic Gardens are not to far from the Curepipe CBD. The volcanic crater of Trou aux Cerfs has spectacular views and is a short drive from the CBD. Many thanks to the Tour Guide Nohar Ramsaran for his expert commentary. Curepipe is always cooler in summer than the coastal regions.
LFPG to FIMP (Paris, France to Plaine Magnien, Mauritius) Shadow Flight on Dec 28th 2022 | MK15
This is a live stream shadowing a passenger (The Traveler) on the actual Air Mauritius flight MK15 from Paris, France to Plaine Magnien, Mauritius on Wednesday, December 28th 2022 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. We'll be flying from Charles de Gaulle to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International airport in a Boeing 787-10. This is the final segment in a trip that started in Vancouver, BC, took us to Toronto, Paris and now on to the semi-final destination in Mauritius!
On the flight from Toronto to Paris, I had multiple issues with the simulation and had to restart several times. This led to a lot of bugs in flight and a terminated stream halfway through.
Partially because of this and partially because there is not yet an A350-900 for FS2020, we'll be taking the vanilla Asobo 787-10. The 787-10 is a relatively close competitor to the A350-900 and is of the same generation - meaning that we can expect similar characteristics and simplicity of operation.
For in-game DLC, we have the FSDG Mauritius pack and the ORBx Paris Landmarks City Pack. We also have the 787 Air Mauritius livery provided by Pilot._mathis from flightsim.to. Hopefully they give us a great view of the island around sunrise!
We'll be flying according to the published Flight Plan on FlightAware.com using the simulator's realistic settings, with the exception of the taxi directions. This will be a long flight and WiFi will be spotty, so I imagine it will be rather uneventful until the end.
