Mindoro is the seventh largest island in the Philippines by land area with a total of 10,571 km² and with a total population of 1,331,473 as of 2015. It is located off the southwestern coast of Luzon and northeast of Palawan. Mindoro is divided into two provinces Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro.
Mindoro is divided into two provinces Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro. San Jose is the largest settlement on the island with a total population of 143,430 inhabitants as of 2015. The southern coast of Mindoro forms the northeastern extremum of the Sulu Sea. Mount Halcon is the highest point on the island, standing at 8,484 feet (2,586 m) above sea level located in Oriental Mindoro. Mount Baco is the island's second highest mountain with an elevation of 8,163 feet (2,488 m), located in the province of Occidental Mindoro.

Holiday in the Philippines we explore Mindoro in the off-season | Part 1 Pinamalayan
We live in Mindoro and after waiting for a year, my parents were visiting from Germany. So it was obvious to show them something of the island. We were able to use a week to travel from one end of the island to the other. Our first stop was Pinamalyan where we stayed in a beautiful hotel and resort for 2 nights. The Nature and the beach were just beautiful, and a long-awaited change. And since it was low season, there were hardly any other tourists around.
Exploring the Philippines by car is one of the best things you can do. And we had a lot of fun doing it. We were also able to go pedal boating/water biking and had super tasty food. And we tried coconut palm liquor fresh from the palm tree. We also saw a big monitor lizard and a giant ant trail.
We had no rain, but a few clouds. Which is good, then I don't get such a sunburn.
All in all, a wonderful time, and then we went on to Puerto Galera in the north end of the island.

We had a little break to go somewhere else, to Pinamalayan a beautifully place not even too far from Manila, but especially not far from us. We stayed one night directly at the beach and it was so much fun, we had a BBQ and a perfect time. In the morning we went swimming, stand-up paddling, canoeing, and snorkelling to explore the riff in front of our clamping hut.

After all that and some exploring at the beach, we visited the Positadi resort as well to get some inspiration on how to use the bricks and tiles the produce in a shop we went to as well. Was fun and good to see that even thou is hard work it also provides a workplace. Then we had a nice Lunch there with Friends and continued our journey to Calapan, the capital of Mindoro.
As we just starting in our business is always work involved when we go somewhere. We spend a lot of time developing our ideas, and being self-employed takes a lot of time.
So if you want to come to visit us and don't want to drive the full length of Mindoro in one go, why not stop there we enjoyed it. It's worth going off the super tourist parts to go where it is just a little bit less overcrowded, less commercialist and more natural.

In the morning we went swimming, stand-up paddling, canoeing, and snorkelling to explore the riff in front of our clamping hut. Also explored the beach a bit more and found hundreds of little grabs. As it is wildlife protected zone life can flourish again after it has been almost extinguished in the past. We had a perfect time meeting good friends before we continued to Calapan, the capital of Mindoro.
So if you want to come to visit us and don't want to drive the full length of Mindoro in one go, why not stop there we enjoyed it. It's definitely worth going off the super tourist parts to go where it is just a little bit less overcrowded, less commercialist and more natural.
