Phrae Thailand - The peaceful Lanna town and its Palace of Torture
Phrae in the north of Thailand isn't exactly a bustling metropolis. There are less than half a million people in the whole province. But there's a lot of history. It was established in the 7th century. It was ruled by the Khmers from present-day Cambodia between the 10th and 11th centuries. And it became part of the Northern Thai Kingdom of Lanna, or a Million Rice Fields, in 1443.

Wat Phra That Cho Hae, Phrae - North Thailand
Wat Phra That Cho Hae is a major religious and perhaps the most sacred Buddhism site of Phrae and a highly revered Royal temple enshrining relics of the Buddha.
The temple was founded in the Sukhothai era, although the exact date is unknown. In 1924 the temple was restored by famous monks Khru Ba Srivichai and is well visited by Thai people, especially on weekend and Buddhist holidays, when the grounds can get very crowded. The Buddha’s relics is specially for people who were born in the year of the Tiger. The highlight is the 33-meter-high Chiang Saen-style phra that (pagoda, chedi).
The Wat Phra That Cho Hae or “temple of the relic wrapped in satin cloth” is named after the fine silk cloth that was used to wrap the sacred hair relic of the Buddha in. To this day the temple’s chedi is wrapped in the same cloth during the annual Wat Phra That Cho Hae festival. The name of the temple refers to traditional fine silk woven found in Sip Song Panna (twelve township rice-fields, Southern Yunnan), which was first used to wrap the pagoda when the temple was first constructed.

In April 1997 when I just arrived here, Hua Hin was a lot different. There was no map of the place and the internet was in its infancy. I always wanted to know everything and I was especially interested in history and backgrounds. That's why I started drawing street maps, publishing magazines for tourists and publishing a guide about Hua Hin. Also, I did Cooperate Identity and Design. In addition, I've created many special tours and established a restaurant at a high level for 20 years.
Since I am a visual person and love Thailand and quite a lot of experience, I have decided to produce special video clips. Relatively short, calm, catchy clips that, on the one hand, stimulate reflection and, on the other hand, broaden the viewing angle. I think that pleases many people and therefore I hope that you will follow me and support me on my way. The videos can be further recommended. QUIET LIFE and FOOD in RURAL Thailand ???????? Discover PHRAE
PHRAE, THAILAND - I explore rural life in the quiet province of Phrae. I take a motorcycle loop around the east side of the province where we visit mystical ancient rock formations, hunt for a lost coffin, see amazing views, eat traditional Thai food in a local Northern Thailand village and stop and unique temples, including the Golden Rock Temple just outside Phrae Town. Oh... and I crash my drone. Phrae Province surprised me a lot and there are so many things to do. I you do travel through Phrae province, do not miss this loop because beyond everything else, it is a very fun ride. Phrae might just be the most rural province on our northern tour.
