We have to be honest, we had no big plans to see Perugia. In-fact, the only reason we came to this city is because it was the closest city to us that had an affordable flight to the southern areas of Italy. With that came ZERO expectations of the Perugia, so when we arrived and realised how many cool things there was to do we were so excited to recieve a list from a local of all the must-see things in Perugia umbria italy. Perugia is the capital of the Italian region of Umbria with around 166,000 inhabitants.
The city's history dates back 2800 years to Etruscan times and was also known in Roman antiquity by its Latin name Perusia.
Remains from this time can be found in the city wall and its gates.
Uniquely beautiful is the IV Novembre square with the Fontana Maggiore fountain in front of the Palazzo dei Priori and the Cathedral.
