Hey Everyone!
I hope you are doing well and staying safe.
On this day, my group toured the Pavlovsk Palace, which Catherine the Great had built. It was such a beautiful day, with amazing overcast weather. The palace had so much beauty on the inside too, with regards to the library, and the paintings/other works of art. Though I-myself especially loved the garden and walking near the waterways.

This Saturday I walked to the south of St Petersburg, mostly retracing the path I took when I went to visit Catherine's Palace at Pushkin, but this time continuing a little further to get to Paul's Palace at Pavlovsk. Whilst I found Catherine's to be the most splendid of the two palace, the landscape to Pavlovsk captured me, and strolling around the park there was certainly the highlight of my trip.

The Pavlovsk State Artistic and Architectural Palace and Park Museum-Reserve (GMZ) is a palace and park ensemble of the late 18th and early 19th centuries located in Pavlovsk, a modern suburb of St. Petersburg. The core of the complex is the Pavlovsk Palace, the summer residence of Emperor Paul I.
Adjacent to the palace is the Pavlovsk Park with an area of about 600 hectares, which stretches along both banks of the Slavyanka River, which makes it one of the largest landscape parks in Europe. The palace and park ensemble was built over the course of about 50 years by three generations of architects and designers: Charles Cameron, Vincenzo Brenna, Giacomo Quarenghi, Andrey Voronikhin, Carlo Rossi.

Catherine Palace & Park was the Rococo summer residence of the Russian tsars, located in the town of Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin). Originally it was a residence of Catherine I. Catherine Palace complex includes Palace and Park ensemble. Its three parks occupy the area of 600 ha, on which over 100 architectural constructions rise: from magnificent palaces and grand monuments to intimate pavilions and park sculptures. In the years 1811 - 1843 the Tsarskoselsky Lyceum was established there, it was an elite school for noble family’s children. Great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was educated there. After revolution of 1917 the palace and park were made the museum. During the tour you will enjoy the magnificent view of the 300-meter facade of the palace and reconstructed Amber Room, located inside the palace.
There is a flee market near the Palace. Palace visit is recommended to combine with Pavlovsk Palace tour (3 km from Pushkin), followed by lunch in Podvorie restaurant. Also horse riding can be done for the transfer to the restaurant or to the Pavlovsk Palace.
