Capitale

Bratislava, historically known as Preßburg (Pressburg) German pronunciation: is the capital and largest city of Slovakia. Officially, the population of the city is about 475,000; however, it is estimated to be more than 660,000—approximately 140% of the official figures. Bratislava is in southwestern Slovakia at the foot of the Little Carpathians, occupying both banks of the River Danube and the left bank of the River Morava. Bordering Austria and Hungary, it is the only national capital to border two sovereign states.

The city's history has been influenced by people of many nations and religions, including Austrians, Bulgarians, Croats, Czechs, Germans, Hungarians, Jews and Slovaks. It was the coronation site and legislative center and capital of the Kingdom of Hungary from 1563 to 1783; eleven Hungarian kings and eight queens were crowned in St Martin's Cathedral. Most Hungarian parliament assemblies were held here from the 17th century until the Hungarian Reform Era, and the city has been home to many Hungarian, German and Slovak historical figures.

Today Bratislava is the political, cultural and economic centre of Slovakia. It is the seat of the Slovak president, the parliament and the Slovak Executive. It has several universities, and many museums, theatres, galleries and other cultural and educational institutions. Many of Slovakia's large businesses and financial institutions have headquarters there.

GDP at purchasing power parity is about three times higher than in other Slovak regions. Bratislava receives around one million tourists every year, mostly from the Czech Republic, Germany, and Austria.

Bojnice (German: Weinitz; Hungarian: Bajmóc) is a historical town in central Slovakia located on the Nitra river, near the city of Prievidza. The town is situated just below the Bojnice Castle. It has a population of around 5,000.

Bojnice is best known for its popular tourist attractions, among them being the largest zoo in Slovakia and the Bojnice castle, and generally for being one of the oldest spa towns in Slovakia.

If you're interested in bird photography, then you'll want to check out this photography workshop in Slovakia! In this workshop, you'll learn basic techniques for bird photography, and then use these techniques to capture stunning photos of wildlife in Slovakia's beautiful landscape.

In this workshop, you will have an opportunity to photograph between 8 and 12 different specimens of birds of prey including Barn Owl, European Eagle Owl, Long Eared Owl, Snowy Owl, Goshawk Hawks, Harris Hawk, Peregrine Falcon, Red Footed Falcon, Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle, White Tailed Eagle, etc. We will photograph these magnificent birds of prey in natural settings and will photograph them both in-flight and static sessions. You will be able to observe and photograph these animals in close range. During the static sessions, dependent upon the light and the overall condition of setting, we will place the birds in a more photogenic position so better pictures can be taken. During in-flight sessions, you will be able to take amazing pictures of the birds in action, in natural looking settings that are almost difficult to take without hours of waiting, if not days.

The second leg of the workshop will take you to some of the most amazing places in Slovakia. You will be photographing historic towns, landmarks, castles, mountain ranges, waterfalls and lakes. Your photography guide is from the region where we will be photographing and he will take you to some of the most photogenic and most scenic spots for the sessions.
