Pantabangan is a 1st class municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 31,763 people.
This is the site of the Pantabangan Dam and Lake.

Here is my staycation vlog of our 4 day and 3 night stay at the beautiful Farm Ridge by Desmond Farm in Nueva Ecija. Located in Pantabangan, this beautiful farm staycation in Nueva Ecija is one among the few staycation spots in Pantabangan.
Unique staycation with Breathtaking views
Farm Ridge by Desmond Farm Nueva Ecija offers breathtaking view of Pantabangan lake and Sierra Madre. I should say that we were awed by the view and did not expect that there's such a place in Nueva Eciija! Pantabangan was also feautured in Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (KMJS) for its old sunken town. Too bad we were pressed of time and was unable to visit the lake.
We were also impressed with Farm Ridge by Desmond Farm's accommodations as they are super interesting and unique! We first stayed at Malipayan Cabin for 2 nights and transferred to Amihan Cabin - an A-frame accommodation. Not to mention that there were farmers around the area! Truly a legit farm staycation in Nueva Ecija!

Travel Time
Pantabangan may not be near Manila but the drive going here is totally worth it! If you are coming from Manila, Going to Farm Ridge by Desmond Farm may take you 4 to 5 hour drive depending on traffic and your driving speed of course. :)
Other things worth knowing:
- Checkpoint - We passed by a checkpoint at the end of CLLEX. We were asked to present our vaccination cards. Note that we visited Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija on 2nd week of October 2021.
- No aircon? No worries! - Cabins at Farm Ridge do not have aircon. Note that it's kiinda cold at night in Farm Ridge. Weather at night reminds us of Tagatay City.
- Going to the farm proper - There is a rough road going to the farm fro the main road. If your car is a sedan, there is a designated parking area along the main road. You can arrange a pick-up service from Farm Ridge at a minimal fee. If you have a 4X4, you can directly go to the farm.
- Farm ridge by Desmond farm is pet friendly too!

The Jurassic Park of the Philippines: George Point Dino Park located in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija
George Point Dino Park is located at Lot 18, Kilometer 5, Barangay Malbang, Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It is one of the must-visit tourist destinations in the town of Pantabangan located in the north-eastern portion of the province of Nueva Ecija. George Point Dino Park is a great vantage point to enjoy the scenic and very relaxing view of Pantabangan Lake and Sierra Madre mountain range. Currently, the entrance fee here is 300 Pesos. They have moving (animatronic) and nin-moving Dinosaurs as well as Dinosaur mascots. Both children and adults will surely have a great time at George Point.
Aside from their Dino Park, the other amenities at George Point include a swimming pool, glamping units, villas and a restaurant (open on weekends only). Sa mga nakaraang episode ng ating Pantabangan Vlog Series ay pinuntahan natin ang Farm Ridge na matatagpuan sa Barangay Malbang… at ang Pantabangan Dam na isa sa mga pinakamalaki at pinakamalinis na dam sa bansa.
At ngayong huling episode ng ating paglalakbay sa Pantabangan ay atin namang pupuntahan ang makasaysayang Intang Lake, Pantabangan Viewdeck. Kaya’t sama-sama nating tuklasin ang ganda at kasaysayan ng lugar na ito.
Pagkarating namin dito ay kita agad ang iconic na hanging bridge. Nagbayad muna kami ng Entrance Fee na 30 pesos at pagkatapos ay nagpark na kami. Karaniwang pumupunta ang mga bisita sa Pantabangan para tignan ang ganda ng Dam, ngunit iilan lamang ang nakakaalam sa lugar na ito.
Binigyan kami ng 30 minutes para i-explore at maexperience ang Hanging Bridge at ang Viewdeck nito sa dulo at sa ilalim nito ay isang museo. Ang 20-Million Pesos tourism infrastructure na ito ay donasyon ng Cal Energy Casecnan Water & Energy Company, Incorporated na nakabase sa Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija.
Dito sa viewdeck ay tanaw na tanaw ang napakagandang view ng Pantabangan Lake. Sa baba ng viewdeck ay makikita ang mga hayop gaya ng kambing na malayang kumakain sa mga damuhan. Makikita rin ang water fun activities sa bandang kanan ng viewdeck.
Ang viewdeck na ito ay ginawa para mapalago ang tourism industry ng Pantabangan at ito ay kasalukuyang mina-manage ng Tourism Unit ng Pantabangan LGU. Kung titignan mo sa malayuan ay tila idinisenyo ito na parang Fishing Vessel. Sa di kalayuan ay makikita rin ang isang kahawig na sasakyang pantubig na naka-park sa gilid ng lawa.
Ang makasaysayang bayan ng Pantabangan sa Nueva Ecija ay inabandona noong 1970s nang lumubog ang bayan at ang mga kapaligiran nito sa tubig-baha na mula sa bagong likhang dam.
Napilitan ang mga residente na lumipat sa mas mataas na lugar, ngunit maraming piraso ng pamana ang nawala sa pagtaas ng tubig. Kabilang sa mga ito, ang isang 18th century church na ang kampanaryo ay nakatayo sa ibabaw ng tubig na parang nakaunat na braso ng isang nalulunod na relic.
Dahil sa matinding tagtuyot na tumama sa Nueva Ecija noong 1983, muling lumitaw ang ilang bahagi ng bayan nang matuyo ang tubig.
Noong July 27, 2020, muling nagpakita ang Old Pantabangan Town mula sa lalim ng baha. Ang simbahan, na dating lugar sambahan, ngunit ngayon ay isa nang simbolo ng kakulangan ng kuryente ng bansa sa nakalipas na mga dekada at ang desperadong paghahanap nito ng solusyon na nagpabaha sa buong bayan.
Ilan sa mga muling lumitaw ang mga bahagi ng lumubog na bayan ng Pantabangan ay ang mga labi ng siglong lumang simbahan nito, lumang sementeryo, lokal na highschool, gusali ng municipal hall, town plaza at ilang bahay na gawa sa mga bato.
Noong July 2020 nga ay nagsagawa ang mga local tourist ng banal na misa mula sa dating simbahang katoliko sa mismong lokasyon nito. Ipinagdiwang din ng mga lokal ang mga sakripisyo ng lumang Pantabangan at ng mga residente nito na nakatira at namumuhay noong dekada 70, para sa pagtatayo ng sikat na ngayon na Pantabangan Dam.
Tunay ng ana napakayaman ng Pantabangan, hindi lang sa likas na yaman at ekonomiya, kundi pati na rin sa kasaysayan.
