The last, sixth part of my video walk around St. Petersburg, Russia. This is the part of the walk that is most interesting for most people. Here you will see truly imperial St. Petersburg, a city unique in all of Russia. It is impossible to compare Moscow or any other city in Russia with it! St. Petersburg is a city not only of “royal whim,” but also of imperial power, Russian genius and national prosperity. Nurtured in the august cradle, gathering around itself the best in the country and in the world, absorbing only everything worthy of eternity, St. Petersburg remains for the next centuries exclusively the city of the empire - the empire of culture, art, history, harmony, majesty and power of Russia. He is the only one in the whole country, paradoxically distant from it in the foggy distance of the imperial center, the capital, shrouded in northern, but White nights... We will start our walk from Admiralteysky Prospekt, go to the palace of Prince Lobanov-Rostovsky (four seasons hotel), after which we will walk along the majestic St. Isaac's Cathedral and through St. Isaac's Square we will go to the Gazprom office! Beautiful architecture, a leisurely walk, it’s much better than just sitting in front of the TV and listening to news from some Russia! :)

(Ep. 16) BOOK CHAPEL - St. Petersburg Venue: Tsar Events DMC' RUSSIA SURVIVAL GUIDE #eventprofs

Tsar Events' RUSSIA SURVIVAL GUIDE with Maya Krivchenia: St. Petersburg Venues: BOOK CHAPEL #RussiaSurvivalGuide

The Book Chapel features over 5,000 volumes of carefully selected books, albums and geographic atlases from the 16th to early 20th centuries, valuable from a scientific, cultural, artistic point of view. These publications have passed the test of time and not one generation of readers, many of them were awarded the title of book rarities based on the results of the evaluation at antique auctions. However, their main value is that most of them are iconic editions of the era of pre-revolutionary Russia, which embodied her life most fully and comprehensively. Nowhere else is it possible to see such a meeting - the Book Chapel was created specifically for these publications that make up the luxury book fund, not represented in libraries or in modern bookstores.

The collections of the Book chapel cover various branches of knowledge and all the main spheres of human life. Particular attention is paid to works on history - both domestic and foreign, publications devoted to the development of natural sciences and geographical discoveries, as well as books on art. Of course, in the first place, the Book Chapel is the abode of the historical book, and literary literature in it is practically not represented, but anyway, anyone can find a book that corresponds to his interests.

(Ep. 14) St. Isaac's Cathedral - Museum in St. Petersburg: Tsar Events DMC' RUSSIA SURVIVAL GUIDE

Tsar Events' RUSSIA SURVIVAL GUIDE with Maya Krivchenia: Russian museums. St. Petersburg - ST. ISAAC'S CATHEDRAL #RussiaSurvivalGuide

St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg is the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in the city. It is the largest orthodox basilica and the fourth largest (by the volume under the cupola) cathedral in the world. It is dedicated to Saint Isaac of Dalmatia, a patron saint of Peter the Great, who had been born on the feast day of that saint.
The church on St Isaac's Square was ordered by Tsar Alexander I, to replace an earlier structure by Vincenzo Brenna, and was the fourth consecutive church standing at this place. A specially appointed commission examined several designs, including that of the French-born architect Auguste de Montferrand (1786–1858), who had studied in the atelier of Napoleon's designer, Charles Percier. Montferrand's design was criticised by some members of the commission for the dry and allegedly boring rhythm of its four identical pedimented octastyle porticos. It was also suggested that despite gigantic dimensions, the edifice would look squat and not very impressive. The members of the commission, which consisted of well-known Russian architects, were also particularly concerned by necessity to build a new huge building on the old unsecure foundation. The emperor, who favoured the ponderous Empire style of architecture, had to step in and solve the dispute in Montferrand's favour.
The cathedral took 40 years to construct, under Montferrand's direction, from 1818 to 1858. To secure the construction, the cathedral's foundation was strengthened by driving 25,000 piles into the fenland of Saint Petersburg. Innovative methods were created to erect the giant columns of the portico. The construction costs of the cathedral totalled an incredible sum of 1 000 000 gold rubles. Under the Soviet government, the building was stripped of religious trappings. In 1931, it was turned into the Museum of the History of Religion and Atheism, the dove sculpture was removed, and replaced by a Foucault pendulum. On April 12, 1931, the first public demonstration of the Foucault pendulum was held to visualize Copernicus’s theory. In 1937, the museum was transformed into the museum of the cathedral, and former collections were transferred to the Museum of the History of Religion (located in the Kazan Cathedral).
During World War II, the dome was painted over in gray to avoid attracting attention from enemy aircraft. On its top, in the skylight, a geodesical intersection point was placed, to determine the positions of German artillery batteries.
With the fall of communism, the museum was removed and regular worship activity has resumed in the cathedral, but only in the left-hand side chapel. The main body of the cathedral is used for services on feast days only.

Tsar Events' RUSSIA SURVIVAL GUIDE with Maya Krivchenia: Venues of St. Petersburg - WHITE BALLROOM of GRAND DUKE VLADIMIR PALACE #RussiaSurvivalGuide
Grand Duke Vladimir Palace was the last imperial palace to be constructed in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. It was designed by a team of architects (Vasily Kenel, Aleksandr Rezanov, Andrei Huhn, Ieronim Kitner, Vladimir Shreter) for Alexander II's son, Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich of Russia. Construction work lasted from 1867 to 1872.
Like the Winter Palace and the Marble Palace, the Vladimir Palace fronts Palace Embankment; water frontage on the Neva was extremely prized by the Russian aristocracy. The façade, richly ornamented with struccorustication, was patterned after Leon Battista Alberti's palazzi in Florence. The main porch is built of Brenen sandstone and adorned with griffins, coats-of-arms, and cast-iron lanterns. Other details are cast in portland cement.
The palace and its outbuildings contain some 36 rooms, all decorated in disparate historic styles.
Dinner can be served in Oак Hall (160 pax), Small Banqueting Hall (40pax) or White Hall (120 pax).

(Ep. 20) Oak Room of Grand Duke Vladimir Palace - Tsar Events DMC & PCO' RUSSIA SURVIVAL GUIDE

Tsar Events' RUSSIA SURVIVAL GUIDE with Maya Krivchenia: Venues of St. Petersburg - OAK ROOM of GRAND DUKE VLADIMIR PALACE #RussiaSurvivalGuide
Table settings can be provided in various colors and motives depending on if providing a classical evening / seating or folkloristic themes and table settings with Russian Samovars and Russian Scarf's instead of table cloth. The Cocktail can be arranged at the entrance to the Main Room or in the Staircase.
