Le territoire qui est aujourd'hui le Tchad a d'abord été habité par divers groupes autochtones, dont les peuples Sara, Kanembu, et Ouaddai.
Au XVIe siècle, des commerçants arabes et des érudits islamiques ont commencé à arriver dans la région, répandant leur religion et leur culture. Au cours du XIXe siècle, divers royaumes et empires ont émergé au Tchad, notamment l'empire Bornou, l'empire Bagouirmi et le royaume Ouaddai. Ces États se sont engagés dans le commerce et la diplomatie avec les puissances voisines, notamment le califat de Sokoto et l'empire colonial français. À la fin du XIXe et au début du XXe siècle, la France a établi le contrôle du Tchad, devenu une colonie en 1920. Les autorités françaises ont mis en œuvre des politiques, visant à moderniser l'économie et le système éducatif, mais ont également perpétué les inégalités sociales et économiques, qui continuent de façonner le développement du pays aujourd'hui.
Après avoir obtenu son indépendance en 1960, le Tchad a connu des décennies d'instabilité politique, notamment de multiples coups d'État et guerres civiles. Le pays a également été touché par des conflits externes et des guerres par procuration, comme le conflit tchado-libyen dans les années 1980, et l'insurrection en cours de Boko Haram, dans la région du lac Tchad. Malgré ces défis, le Tchad reste un pays diversifié et culturellement riche avec une histoire et un patrimoine dynamiques.
Le nom Tchad a été utilisé pour la première fois par les explorateurs européens, arrivés dans la région au 19ème siècle. À l'époque, la région était sous le contrôle du puissant empire Kanem-Bornu, qui était l'un des États les plus importants de la région. Au fil du temps, le nom Tchad est devenu largement adopté et a finalement été utilisé pour désigner l'ensemble du pays. Aujourd'hui, le nom Tchad est reconnu dans le monde entier, comme le nom d'une nation souveraine d'Afrique centrale. Cependant, ces dernières années, il y a eu une augmentation significative de l'urbanisation, en particulier dans la capitale N'Djamena.
La culture tchadienne est riche et diversifiée, avec un fort accent sur les valeurs communautaires et familiales. La musique et la danse sont une partie importante de la culture tchadienne, les instruments traditionnels tels que le balafon et la kora étant couramment utilisés dans les spectacles.

Welcome to our amazing adventure! In this video, we'll be joining our hero Xavier Rosset on a real-life Robinson Crusoe adventure - 300 days alone on Tofua, a remote island of the Tonga in the Pacific Ocean.
We'll follow our hero as he embarks on a daring journey of exploration, discovery, and self-reliance. He'll be completely isolated from civilization, and must use his wits and skills to survive.
We'll start by watching him build a shelter, and gathering food and supplies. Then he'll have to figure out how to catch fish and hunt animals. He'll also need to make improvised tools, and explore the island.
And we'll watch as he adjusts to life on the island; dealing with storms, loneliness, and the possibility of never being rescued. We'll see how he copes with the mental and physical struggles of living alone in the wild.
It's a remarkable story of courage and determination, a true psychological story between solitude and loneliness and hopefully it will inspire others to try their own outdoor adventures. Join us now for this amazing Robinson Crusoe adventure!

Why Living Like A..?:
Living Like A Palauan was an idea I had prior to Palau had I immersed myself deeply and naturally into the culture. And because I did, that idea quickly took off with the video project underway Mid November until this week.
But Living Like A.. didnt begin in Palau, it actually began 5 years ago in the Kingdom Of Tonga????????, where I was so blessed to be able to stay in a village on the island group of Vava'u.
Little did I know, my curiosity of the ways Tongans live their lives allowed me to, in the short time that i stayed, LIVE LIKE A TONGAN.
Living Like A Tongan was my very first true culturally immersive experience in my travels and to this day is very special to me, as well as the thousands of Tongans that watch it. It opened the door to a whole new inner passion of mine and that was learning about world cultures. ????
Living Like a Tongan happened to be one of my biggest Youtube videos and has beautifully brought so many proud Tongans to my video and to my channel, thanking me for loving their culture and taking the time to show the Tongan way.
Living Like A Palaun is very much all of this with the same heart, love, and passion for culture. The only difference now, my camera gear is far better and my storytelling and post editing skills are through the roof.
Which means, the ability to extend the voices of Palau and represent a whole culture is far greater. ????????
