Travelling on every type of V/Line train in ONE DAY! Long-distance rail travel in Victoria

I'm now in Melbourne, Victoria. In the past 12 months, I reviewed regional trains in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia, I have also travelled on Journey Beyond's luxury trains, namely the Ghan, Indian Pacific and Great Southern.
However, I didn't get to pay much attention to V/Line services here in Australia. Therefore, after a few hours of planning in front of my laptop, today I've come up with an idea of travelling on every type of passenger train in the current V/Line fleet in one day!

As of 4 May 2022, V/Line passenger train fleet include:
Broad gauge VLocity (3VL0–3VL28, 3VL30–3VL75, 3VR76–3VR79, 3VL80–3VL92)
Standard gauge VLocity (3VS93–3VS94)
Broad gauge Sprinter
Broad gauge N set
Standard gauge N set
Broad gauge H set
Z type carriage (incorporated into the N sets)*

My plan for this challenge is to catch 8 trains:
5:13am - 5:58am Melbourne - Bacchus Marsh (Broad VLocity)
6:19am - 7:14am Bacchus Marsh - Melbourne (Broad H set)
7:46am - 8:45am Melbourne - Geelong (Broad N set, First Class)
9:30am - 10:35am Geelong - Melbourne (Broad VLocity)
1:36pm - 2:59pm Melbourne - Seymour (Broad Sprinter)
3:09pm - 4:40pm Seymour - Melbourne (Standard N set, Economy Class)
5:33pm - 7:11pm Melbourne - Seymour (Broad Sprinter)
7:44pm - 9:45pm Seymour - Melbourne (Standard VLocity)

I'll start my day at4:30am, if everything goes smoothly, I'll be able to finish my day by10:00pm. How did I go? You can find out in this video!!

This video was filmed on 14 April 2022, a few footages were filmed on 13, 15, 26 and 27 April 2022.

Melbourne to Sydney Drive via the Coast: 8 Must-See Stops in Victoria

Forget the Melbourne to Sydney drive via the inland route, we'll show you the spectacular coastal trip and 8 places to stop that will leave you in awe. In this first part, we'll run through all the towns we stopped at in Gippsland, Victoria: Bairnsdale, Lakes Entrance and Nungurner.

Your first stop after you leave Melbourne will be the vast region of Gippsland that stretches all the way from the outer suburb of Pakenham all the way to the border of New South Wales. The region is GIGANTIC. Driving from one end to the other can take up to 5 hours.

Our first 2 nights saw us staying in the small township of Bairnsdale, where we bunked up at the NRMA Holiday Park which we used as our base to explore Paynesville, Raymond Island and the Buchan Caves.

We moved further east on our final 2 nights, staying at our first off-grid Airbnb - The Folly in Nungurner. From there, we embarked on trips to the popular family holiday spot Lakes Entrance, Ninety Mile Beach and even ventured as far as the Historic Trestle Bridge in Nowa Nowa.

Whether you're road tripping from Melbourne to Sydney, or Sydney to Melbourne, a stop in Lakes Entrance and Gippsland is an absolute must. Famous for being the home of Australia's largest inland waterways, the views and sights will steal your breath away and leave you wanting to return for more.

OUR ACCOMMODATION IN GIPPSLAND:
NRMA Bairnsdale -
The Folly Nungurner -

DISCLAIMERS: Our stay was graciously hosted by NRMA Bairnsdale and The Folly Nungurner. All photos, videos and experiences are, however, our own.

This video was partly sponsored by Doncaster MINI Garage. The 4-door Countryman was the perfect family-friendly set of wheels that got us safely to Sydney and back again (with a helluva lotta fun in between).

MAP OF MELBOURNE [ AUSTRALIA ]

salutations my friends. this is a map of Melbourne , Australia. Melbourne is in the southeastern part of mainland Australia, within the state of Victoria. Geologically, it is built on the confluence of Quaternary lava flows to the west, Silurian mudstones to the east, and Holocene sand accumulation to the southeast along Port Phillip. The southeastern suburbs are situated on the Selwyn fault, which transects Mount Martha and Cranbourne. The western portion of the metropolitan area lies within the Victorian Volcanic Plain grasslands vegetation community, and the southeast falls in the Gippsland Plains Grassy Woodland zone.

Melbourne extends along the Yarra River towards the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong Ranges to the east. It extends northward through the undulating bushland valleys of the Yarra's tributaries—Moonee Ponds Creek (toward Tullamarine Airport), Merri Creek, Darebin Creek and Plenty River—to the outer suburban growth corridors of Craigieburn and Whittlesea. excuse me. please comment if you love melbourne. continuing.

The city reaches southeast through Dandenong to the growth corridor of Pakenham towards West Gippsland, and southward through the Dandenong Creek valley and the city of Frankston. In the west, it extends along the Maribyrnong River and its tributaries north towards Sunbury and the foothills of the Macedon Ranges, and along the flat volcanic plain country towards Melton in the west, Werribee at the foothills of the You Yangs granite ridge southwest of the CBD. The Little River, and the township of the same name, marks the border between Melbourne and neighbouring Geelong city.

Melbourne's major bayside beaches are in the various suburbs along the shores of Port Phillip Bay, in areas like Port Melbourne, Albert Park, St Kilda, Elwood, Brighton, Sandringham, Mentone, Frankston, Altona, Williamstown and Werribee South. The nearest surf beaches are 85 km south of the Melbourne CBD in the back-beaches of Rye, Sorrento and Portsea.

Storm passing over Melbourne CBD in August. Melbourne is said to have four seasons in one day due to its changeable weather.
Melbourne has a temperate oceanic climate , bordering on a humid subtropical climate , with warm summers and mild winters. Melbourne is well known for its changeable weather conditions, mainly due to it being located on the boundary of hot inland areas and the cool southern ocean. This temperature differential is most pronounced in the spring and summer months and can cause strong cold fronts to form. These cold fronts can be responsible for varied forms of severe weather from gales to thunderstorms and hail, large temperature drops and heavy rain. Winters, however, are usually very stable, but rather damp and often cloudy—though not as cloudy as inland areas or places farther west like Warrnambool due to Melbourne's downwind placement relative to the prevailing westerlies, as evident by its dry winters by southern Victorian standards. The city, however, is exposed to southerly and southwesterly systems as manifested by the overcast, drizzly winters. thats all for now. thanks for listening. please subscribe for the best maps and for the love of Melbouirne. goodbye. #mapschool #maps #mapas #victoriaaustralia #melbourneaustralia
