Hey guys,
Here a series of videos from our last trip to Mazury/ Masuria Olsztyn City. We witnessed one of best sunrises and sunsets. The lake views in Mazury we phenomenal and we enjoyed our stay throughout. Nothing that’s we had planned this in advance but just a day before we left.
Talking about the Olsztyn city, it’s a small city in the Mazurian region which falls in the north east side of Poland. This city had a lot to offer us in terms of nature and authentic food. Transport within the city was not as great a in Warsaw but there are buses with great frequency. Facility of Uber and Bolt is not available there. Food being super cheap in terms of cost and very tasty (if you enjoy Polish, Czech cuisines)
I tried to capture all the fun and exiting things we did in Olsztyn Mazury and I am sure that from the vides you will enjoy it too!
The planetarium was opened on February 19, 1973 , on the 500th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, under the name of the Planetarium of Space Flights. The design of architect Janusz Miścicki and L. Gosławski was selected for implementation. The planetarium was built in a record time of 14 months. The Raumflug-Planetarium projector by Carl Zeiss Jena was installed in it, and it worked until 2012, when it was replaced by the DigitalSky 2 projection system

Masuria and the Masurian Lake District are known in Polish as Kraina Tysiąca Jezior and in German as Land der Tausend Seen, meaning land of a thousand lakes. These lakes were ground out of the land by glaciers during the Pleistocene ice age around 14,000 - 15,000 years ago, when ice covered northeastern Europe. From that period originates the horn of a reindeer found in the vicinity of Giżycko. By 10,000 BC this ice started to melt. Great geological changes took place and even in the last 500 years the maps showing the lagoons and peninsulas on the Baltic Sea have greatly altered in appearance. More than in other parts of northern Poland, such as from Pomerania (from the River Oder to the River Vistula), this continuous stretch of lakes is popular among tourists. The terrain is rather hilly, with connecting lakes, rivers and streams. Forests account for about 30% of the area. The northern part of Masuria is covered mostly by the broadleaved forest, while the southern part is dominated by pine and mixed forests.

Kolej wąskotorowa Ozorków - Krośniewice. Przejazd drezyną 2014 rok/Narrow-gauge railway Poland 2014
PL: Linia kolei wąskotorowej ( rozstaw szyn 750 mm) została otwarta w 1910 roku na odcinku Krośniewice – Koryta. W 1947 roku została wydłużona do stacji Ozorków Centralny gdzie przy tym samym peronie zatrzymywały się także tramwaje linii 46 Ozorków - Łódź. W 1984 roku w związku z rozbudową linii tramwajowej, rozebrano odcinek Ozorków Miasto - Ozorków Centralny i wybudowano na tym śladzie linię tramwajową. W 2006 roku na odcinku Krośniewice - Ozorków Wąskotorowy przywrócono turystyczny ruch kolejowy. W 2008 roku ruch został zawieszony. Obecnie linią opiekuje się Stowarzyszenia Krośniewickiej Kolei Wąskotorowej. Film z przejazdu drezyną zarejestrowałem w 2014 roku. Przepraszam za nie najlepszą jakość materiału.
EN: The narrow-gauge railway line (rails spacing 750 mm) was opened in 1910 on the section Krośniewice - Koryta in Poland. In 1947 it was extended to the Ozorków Centralny station, where trams of the line 46 Ozorków - Łódź also stopped at the same platform. In 1984, due to the extension of the tram line, the Ozorków Miasto - Ozorków Centralny section was demolished and a tram line was built on this trail. In 2006, the tourist railway traffic was restored on the section Krośniewice - Ozorków Wąskotorowy. In 2008, the movement was suspended. Currently, the line is under the care of the Narrow-Gauge Railway Association of Krośniewice. I recorded the video of the trolley ride in 2014. Sorry for not the best quality material.

Skierniewice town in the central part of Poland called Mazovia, 60 km south to Warsaw, at the main railway and express highway from Warsaw to Katowice. Very nice and tranquil place to rest. Known from Institute of Pomology and Floriculture.

Route of death from Radomsko ghetto

Radomsko was captured by the Fourth Panzer Division on Sunday, 3 September 1939. Whilst under military rule, the Jewish population was subjected to brutal treatment including the murder of some people.
On 31 October 1939, Radomsko became the second place where Jews had to wear compulsory markings (after Włocławek). The marking was initially only for men and denoted how many days slave labour were required.
On 20 December 1939, Radomsko became the second city in Poland to have a ghetto established - following nearby Piotrków Trybunalski. The ghetto incorporated the following streets in the city centre : Rolna, Stodolna, Joselwicza, Strzalkowska, Fabianiego, and Mickiewicza. (See film from the Radomsko ghetto).
The Jewish population of Radomsko was about 10,000 in 1939. People were also brought to the ghetto from Łódź, Ozorkow and Zdunska Wola as well as outlying villages such as Amstow, Plawno, Gidziel, Kamiensk, Kodran, Mojslawice, Strzalkow, and Klomnice. Overcrowding was such that around ten people were living in one room. There were two major typhus epidemics in 1940 and 1942.
On 9 October 1942, the ghetto was sealed and the population gathered at a sports field. Some 350 people were granted a reprieve, the remainder were sent to Treblinka. Two transports left on 10 and 12 October 1942, taking 12,000 - 14,000 people to the gas chambers.
A couple of weeks later the Nazis announced that they would create four Jewish towns Ujazd, Sandomierz, Szydlowiec and Radomsko. People returned from the countryside knowing they could not survive the winter. On 6 January 1943 this ghetto was also liquidated with people being sent to Treblinka or the Skarzysko-Kamienna armaments plant for slave labour.
Other Jews rounded up later were shot in the Jewish cemetary or deported to the Płonki slave labour camp. By July 1943 there were no Jews left in Radomsko.
