Facts
Ireland is known for its wide expanses of lush, green fields. In fact, its nickname is the Emerald Isle.
But there are also large areas of rugged, rocky landscape. About 15,000 years ago,
Ireland was completely covered by thick glaciers.
The movement of these giant sheets of ice stripped the soil,
leaving huge tracts of flat, limestone pavement.

NATURE
The Irish have a great affection for nature and rural life.
The country's first coins even featured pictures of animals.
Low levels of development and pollution in Ireland have left most of the nation's open spaces relatively undisturbed.
Did you know that there are no wild snakes in Ireland?
The sea has stopped many animals common on mainland Europe from reaching the island.
There are also only two wild mouse species, one type of lizard, and just three kinds of amphibians.

The River Dodder rises in the mountains south of Dublin | The Dodder fishing permit Dublin Ireland

The River Dodder rises in the mountains south of Dublin | The Dodder fishing permit Dublin Ireland.

It then flows in a north-easterly direction for 14 miles through the southern side of the city before entering the Irish Sea at Dublin Bay. This river has a reasonable stock of brown trout which is complemented by stocking. In addition, the Dodder has a small stock of sea trout. Fishing is best between Old Bawn in Tallaght and Ballsbridge. Sea trout fishing can be found downstream of Ballsbridge. Annual stocking of the river with brown trout from 4 oz to over 1 lb. is carried out by the local angling club.

Membership and permits:
The juvenile membership in the club is high and young anglers are very much encouraged to join. The stretches recommended for fishing are located at Herbert Park in Ballsbridge to Beaver Row in Donnybrook. In addition, the stretch from Milltown to Rathfarnham is also worth a try. The Milltown to Rathfarnham section is very accessible with a linear park all the way along this stretch. There are footbridges across the river at various points. So crossing the river is not a problem. Parking is mostly off-road.

Licences, sea-trout and regulations :
Sea trout fishing can be good on the lower reaches in late summer (please note the salmon and sea trout regulations). Anglers fishing for sea trout must have a salmon licence. In the tidal area near Ringsend some fine specimen mullet were recorded in recent years. Fishing on this river is controlled by the Dodder Anglers and riparian owners.

Location
Ballsbridge – Tallaght, South County Dublin.

Fish Species
Brown Trout and Sea trout

Season
17 March – 30 September

Methods
All legitimate methods are allowed including fly fishing, worm fishing and spinning. (subject to salmon regulations)

Best Flies
Green, Black, Brown and other shades of midges, size 18 & 20. Wet and dry olive patterns size 14 & 16.

Angling Club
Dodder Anglers Club

Permits, Day Tickets and Membership
Join the angling club or buy a day ticket for your fishing from the following stockists

Henry’s fishing tackle
Rory’s
ABC
Southside Angling
Beaumanns
Nuts Mutts
Membership is 10 euro for an adult and 5 euro for a junior. (subject to change)

Fishing tip
Trout feed more avidly in the evening time. Spend some time looking for feeding trout before starting to fish.

Access to fisheries
Access does not imply a right of way and anglers should ensure that, they have the necessary permission to enter or cross private lands. Where possible anglers should walk along the river bank.

Country code
Anglers should ensure that gates are closed and that fences are not broken or damaged. Care should be taken with crops and livestock. Litter must not be discarded and no fires are allowed. Vehicles should be parked in designated areas and in such a manner that they do not cause obstruction.

Cahore Point | Co. Wexford | Ireland - DJI Air 2S Drone Video 4K

Cahore is a small fishing village located 2km from Ballygarrett Village in North Wexford. In the heart of the sunny South-East, but only an hour south of Dublin, Cahore has been a popular location for tourists, fishermen, and wild-life enthusiasts for generations. The Strand Cahore is reached at the end of a winding road and ends in a harbour which is the centre of village activities. Holiday homes ring the bay and are dotted along a higher headland above the pub.

Cahore is a gorgeous little harbour with lovely views north towards Tara Hill and Arklow. If walking to Cahore, there are steps up to the cliff at Newtown Beach with a simple path to walk to the top of the cliff at Cahore. The Pier in Cahore is a renowned place for families to fish for crabs.

Discover Ireland - Something for the weekend - Southwest

A condensed version of the 2011 series shown on TV3. In this episode, Xpose presenter Glenda Gilson travels to the Southwest and experiences Cork Midsummer Festival, ziplining and jaunting cars at the Gap of Dunloe, Kinsale, cooking and eating at Fishy Fishy, English Market Cork.

Virtual trip to Morriscastle Strand May 2020 (Lockdown Covid 19)

Please #supportirishtourism2020
Remember, now more than ever our rural tourist providers, local shops, garages, pubs and providers of other amenities are going to need our support, more than ever.
So many people are missing their mobile homes, campers, touring caravans and tests. Not as much as the rural holiday towns around Ireland are missing YOU. For years rural coastal towns and villages provide an escape for Irish and foreign visitors. This year they will be greatly impacted by the travel restrictions and so will you. So plan your 2020 holiday IN IRELAND now, so your not disappointed, where else are you going to go!
People in these communities rely on the short season to generate income, to give their business and family much needed funds. The last 10+ years were tough on them and this Covid 19 could cause difficulties in the future.

Go-Ahead Ireland: 75 to Tallaght | Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 / Volvo B9TL - 11904 / 132-D-6228

Recording date: 10th of August 2023

Happened to be travelling home from Dún Laoghaire so I decided to record part of the journey home as far as Stillorgan. 11904 is quite a nice bus in itself; nice engine sound and a smooth enough journey. It got very warm onboard as this was a really sunny day, so there was the natural heat along with the heat dissipation from the engine. As it was rush hour, it got too busy to record any further than Stillorgan, especially when we got to Dundrum TC it got almost full.
This bus was originally GT104 of the Dublin Bus fleet. It was based at the Ringsend depot until transferral.

Dublin Luas Tram Ride | Tallaght To Dublin By Tram | Dublin Tram Urdu Guide |

Hello Guys!
In this vlog, I am going to explain you about Dublin Tram. How you guys get tram from tallaght to Dublin centre city.

the square 7

taken from the park near the old bawn school again ala the first vid this shows the blue bridge that links old bawn to the square. i didnt put it in the first vid and wanted to rectify that. as you can see the soutside entrance now has plastic sheeting over the scaffolding (this vid taken a week after the last one) and 40 seconds in you can JUST make out a worker in a high res vest on the pyramid. the next vid attempts to get a closer look at them. apologies for the sound, it was very windy.
