Hour Before Old Harbour Town Lock Down
Old Harbour is a town in southern Jamaica. It used to be served by a station on the national railway network. The nearby Port Esquivel is a major shipping hub for the exportation of bauxite and sugar. Port Esquivel is also the location of a tank farm constructed for ethanol but repurposed for petroleum distillates. This hour before lock down was something different for Old Harbour People.

Old Harbour, town and Caribbean port, southern Jamaica, west of Kingston. Originally called Esquivel after its Spanish founder, it was once Spanish Town’s second port, when the latter was capital of Jamaica, and was famous for shipbuilding. After a period of decline it is now important for shipping bauxite as well as sugarcane, tropical fruit, and coffee. In 1940 the U.S. Navy leased land on nearby Little Goat Island and established a base there that was used during World War II. Pop. (2011) urban area, 28,912.
