At Germany's biggest lake, the Bodensee (lake Constance), is one of the best cities to visit in Germany. Lindau is in the most southern part of Bavaria on a little island on the lake Constance, directly bordering Austria (by land) and Switzerland (by water). The city is hosting every year the Nobel Laureate Meetings.

Beautiful Lindau in 4 mins | Best places in Bavaria | Travel Germany [4K]
Lindau is one of the best places in Bavaria! It's a major town and island on the eastern side of Lake Constance (Bodensee in German) in Bavaria, Germany. The coat of arms of Lindau town is a linden tree, referring to the supposed origin of the town's name (Linde means linden tree in German). The historic town of Lindau is located on the 0.68-square-kilometer (0.26 sq mi) island of the same name which is connected with the mainland by a road bridge and a railway dam leading to Lindau station.
Lindau is a popular tourist attraction in the South of Germany. The gardens of Lindau are best in spring or summer blossom and summer is the peak tourist period. Lindau is famous for its architecture and outdoor attractions such as cycling, sailing, hiking, swimming and camping are also popular.

Switzerland carnival traditions take place during the one-week period from Dirty Thursday (“Schmutziger Donnerstag”) to Ash Wednesday. Since Ash Wednesday is 40 days before Easter (not counting Sundays) and the date of Easter varies, carnival season is different every year.
During carnival, most everything is allowed - especially eating sugar and meat, drinking alcohol and celebrating. Switzerland’s carnival hotspots have elaborate parades featuring masked marching bands. Meanwhile, some small towns have more peculiar rituals.
Contrary to popular belief, the roots of Swiss carnival traditions are not based on Pagan rituals to chase away winter. (There are numerous traditions in Switzerland to chase away winter, however.) Instead, carnival has its roots in Christianity and the coming season of Lent.
An interesting note: during Reformation, many Swiss towns were forced to give up their carnival traditions as part of turning protestant. Basel is an exception as its military parades along with the Vogel Gryff ritual kept carnival alive.
Lucerne, on the other hand, stayed catholic; carnival remained an annual tradition. In Bern, where carnival had disappeared, the tradition has only returned in 1982.

Oberriet - Appenzell - St.Peterzell - Neuhaus - Siebnen - Einsiedeln !
100km wandert man auf der Via Jacobi von der Österreichischen Grenze bei Feldkirch bis nach Einsiedeln. Eine schöne Strecke die mit dem Appenzeller Weg beginnt in Oberriet. Ab St.Peterzell ist der Weg identisch mit dem St.Galler Weg der von Rorschach nach Einsiedeln geht. Der Weg führt zumeist abseits der Dörfer und deshalb empfiehlt es sich, Proviant mitzunehmen.

This is the Via Jacobi, the swiss Camino / Way of St.James that starts at the austrian border next to Feldkirch in Oberriet. In St.Peterzell this section of the Via Jacobi joins the Camino that starts in Rorschach at Lake Constance. The scenic path is mostly going far away from the villages, so take some food with you ! The first part of this 100km is called Appenzeller Weg and after St.Peterzell it joins the St.Galler Weg
