This is my last video about Nykøbing Falster, which is one of the midsize cities in Denmark, by Danish standards, since Denmark is a small country. Welcome to my viewers in the United States and around the world, my name is Roderick Balenda; I am now making a series of videos about different cities in different countries; this time, I am in Denmark. I was walking from Jernebanegade to the Nykoebing Falster Trainstation, where you can take trains to Copenhagen, some towns in Lolland Falster and even Germany and other countries. I was walking towards a section of the city center of Nykøbing Falster, which is one of the mid-size cities in Denmark, by Danish standards. I was walking from Slotsgade(Castle Street) to Langgade( Long Street). Walking In Nykøbing Falster, Denmark: From Frederik IX Bridge To The Guldborgsund Center
Welcome to my viewers in the United States, and around the world, my name is Roderick Balenda; I am making a series of videos about cities from different countries. This time, I am in Denmark, making a series of videos about Nykøbing Falster, also spelled Nykobing Falster or Nykoebing F. I was walking from Frederik 9th Bridge, which was built in 1962. Under this bridge, there is a huge body of water; it is the Gulborgsund Straight or the Guldborgsund, which means the Guldborg Straight. Guldborg is a small town on the island of Falster, a few dozen kilometers from Nykobing F. The Guldborgsund Straight separates the islands of Lolland and Falster. The Guldborgsund Center is a place there are many shops and takeaways.
PS: Frederick IX (Christian Frederik Franz Michael Carl Valdemar Georg; 11 March 1899 – 14 January 1972) was King of Denmark from 1947 to 1972.
Born into the House of Glücksburg, Frederick was the elder son of King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark. He became crown prince when his father succeeded as king in 1912. As a young man, he was educated at the Royal Danish Naval Academy. In 1935, he was married to Princess Ingrid of Sweden and they had three daughters, Margrethe, Benedikte and Anne-Marie. During Nazi Germany's occupation of Denmark, Frederick acted as regent on behalf of his father from 1942 until 1943. He was succeeded by his eldest daughter, Queen Margrethe II.[12] Queen Ingrid survived her husband by 28 years. She died on 7 November 2000. Her remains were interred alongside him at the burial site outside Roskilde Cathedral.

Lindholm Hoeje Museum in Aalborg, Denmark
Lindholm Høje is a major Viking burial site and former settlement situated to the north of and overlooking the city of Aalborg in Denmark.
At Lindholm Høje, you will see one of Scandinavia’s best preserved Viking findings – dug out from a thick layer of sand which has kept the secrets of Lindholm Høje for thousands of years.
Lindholm Høje exhibits burial sites from both the Germanic Iron Age and the Viking Age. A total of 682 graves and 150 stone ships have been found on the site. North of the burial site was a village where remains of houses, fences and wells have been discovered.
The area was severely troubled by sand drift, and around the year 1000, the sand completely covered the burial site, thereby preserving the stone circles as well as a freshly ploughed field, which can now be investigated by archaeologists and visitors at Lindholm Høje. Many of the discovered prehistoric findings are displayed at the Lindholm Høje Museum.

Cozy and Safe Travelling in 2020 / North Jutland, Denmark - The Perfect Getaway
A few weeks ago we had the luck to be able to spend a few days on the northern beaches of North Jutland, Denmark. It was the most perfect getaway after a spring and summer of not travelling, of not being able to plan anything or go anywhere.
There was an overwhelming feeling of freedom, like you were finally able to breath again.
The air of the North Sea, the rough weather and the simple pleasures of lighting a fire when you come back to your house after spending hours in the strong winds… It was just what we needed.
In the daytime we explored the area, the beaches and the old WW2 bunkers which are scattered all over North Jutland.
We bought our fire wood from the farmer at the end of our road and lit the fireplace at least twice a day. We cooked home made meals every night and spend cozy evenings snuggled up in blankets in our living room overlooking a nature reserve. Always trying to spot deer or rabbits, which apparently are very tall in Denmark. ????
We couldn’t actually go to the most northern point of Denmark to put our feet in the North and East Sea at the same time, because there was a colony of seals lying on the beach, which we definitely didn’t want to disturb.
We hardly ever saw any other people and experienced incredible weather conditions.
We even jumped in the North Sea at fifteen degrees celsius air temperature. Water temperature must have been around 9 degrees.
And when our trip ended we were fully recharged. Recharged for the long drive back home and the following weeks. Very grateful for this adventure.
A break that felt like the most peaceful time 2020 was able to give us.

Denmark has been number one in the global Happiness Index for years. Everything seems to be right in Denmark. It is clean, there is equality and prosperity. But isn't it too good to be true? Is it so 'lykkelig' in Denmark? To really understand the Danes you have to know the 'law of Jante'.
In this episode Jensen investigates the influential law of Jante in Denmark. From the beginning, this law teaches Danish children that they are no better than anyone else. The law is a code of conduct consisting of ten lines, written by the writer Aksel Sandemose. The basic idea of Jante's law is: you can not put your head above the ground level. Jante is the fictional name of the town Nykøbing on the island of Mors in the northwest of Denmark where Sandemose grew up. The law is an explanation for the low social inequality in Denmark.
