Heddal Stave Church to held first election of national assembly in 1814 located in Notodden city and Municipality, Norway. It is located 117-km from the capital Oslo.
Driving from NOTODDEN to GAUSTATOPPEN ???????? - Norway
Gaustatoppen is the highest mountain in the county Vestfold og Telemark in Norway which lies in the municipality Tinn and Hjartdal. The view from the summit is impressive, as one can see an area of approximately 60,000 km², one sixth of Norway's mainland.
In the Norwegian county of Vestfold og Telemark, Notodden is both a city and a municipality. It belongs to the historical area of St. Telemark. The city of Notodden serves as the municipality's administrative hub.
In order to become an independent city and municipality, Notodden was cut off from the municipality of Heddal in 1913. Heddal and Gransherad, two rural municipalities, joined with Notodden on January 1 to create a new, larger municipality.
The Tinn River flows through Notodden and into Heddalsvatnet Lake, which is where the town is located. A few kilometers outside of the city center is Heddal Stave Church, the largest stave church in Norway.

The Biggest, Best, Baddest, Beautiful..est, Stave Church in Norway *Heddal Stave Church
Heddal stave church is located at Heddal in Notodden municipality, Norway.
Previously nealy one thousand of these wooden, Stave Churches, stood all across Norway, however now there are only 28 left with Heddal (this one) being the largest of the remaining churches. Many of the other churches were pulled down due to being built in the wrong faith. Heddal remained due to the great size of the church it self.
As you'll soon see in the video there is alot of wood. Everything is wood. So much wood.

Notodden is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Øst-Telemark. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Notodden.
Kongsberg is a historical mining town and municipality in Buskerud, Viken county, Norway. The city is located on the river Numedalslågen at the entrance to the valley of Numedal. Kongsberg has been a centre of silver mining, arms production and forestry for centuries, and is the site of high technology industry including the headquarters of Norway's largest defence contractor Kongsberg Gruppen.
Notodden was separated from the municipality of Heddal in 1913 to become a separate city and municipality. On 1 January 1964, the rural municipalities of Heddal and Gransherad were merged into Notodden to form a new enlarged municipality.
