Neumünster is a city in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. With more than 79,000 registered inhabitants, it is the fifth-largest municipality in Schleswig-Holstein (behind Kiel, Lübeck and Flensburg).
The first historic record of the precursor village Wippendorf dates from 1127. The name refers to a new monastery Novum Monasterium built by the bishop Vicelinus. Since 1903 Neumünster is a so-called independent city (Kreisfreie Stadt) as it is not part of a district (Kreis).
The city was protested by the Rural People's Movement as part of a farmers' protest movement in northern Germany from 1928 to 1933, which was the basis for Hans Fallada's novel A Small Circus (Bauern, Bonzen und Bomben). The city's Hans Fallada Prize is named after him.
The Schleswig-Holstein NSDAP was founded in 1925 by Hinrich Lohse and received much support. On Kristallnacht in 1938, all Jewish men were arrested and sent to KZ Sachsenhausen.
During World War 2, Neumünster was bombed multiple times by Allied forces in 1945, partly because of its importance as a railway junction and industrial city. The British took control of the City in May 1945.
In the fall of 1946, the state of Schleswig-Holstein was founded and post-war Neumünster held its first municipal election.
Neumünster used to be a hub for the textile industry, seeing a lot of success in the 1970s. However, the industry eventually left the city and Neumünster's last cloth factory closed in the beginning of the 1990s.
Neumünster station is a major railway junction with lines running in six (formerly seven) directions, including the important Hamburg-Altona–Kiel and Neumünster–Flensburg lines.
Near Neumünster at Ehndorf, there is a high-power medium wave transmission facility for transmitting the programmes of Deutschlandfunk, the Ehndorf transmitter, which is often named incorrectly as Neumünster transmitter.
The city has an airfield and a hospital. The utility company, Stadtwerke Neumünster (SWN), also manages local inter-city bus routes.
▶ Rencks Park (translated from Wikipedia)
Rencks Park is a park area in the center of Neumünster, Germany. It was built in 1857 at the banks of Schwale River as a private park. In 1870, the park was made public by Hans Lorenz Renck and Pauline Renck, children of the initial founder Detlev Anton Renck.
Hans Lorenz Renck is still present in the park as a stone monument, and many more monuments and artistic sculptures can be found here. Today Rencks Park is the most prominent urban park in Neumünster.

Bordesholm is a municipality located in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Путешествия по Европе в большинстве случаев сводятся к посещению хорошо известных и популярных мест. Северная Германия является не исключением из этого правила и пожалуй наиболее известными представителями этого региона являются крупные города такие как Гамбург и Бремен. Однако, в этой части Германии есть еще и множество других не менее, а иногда даже более красивых городов. Сейчас у нас есть возможность жить в Германии и несмотря на ограничения вызванные Covid-19 и невозможность путешествий по Европе мы стараемся проводить выходные с пользой и по возможности стараемся поехать посмотреть близлежащие города чтобы познакомится с историей и насладиться архитектурой немецких городов. Сегодня мы хотим прогуляться вместе с вами по малоизвестному, но очень приятному немецкому городу Рендсбург! Этот немецкий город который находится на середине Кильского канала когда-то принадлежат Дании, но в результате объединения земель Шлезвиг и Гольштейн вошел в состав Пруссии в середине девятнадцатого века.
Этому городу с тысячелетней историей удавалось оставаться непримечательным до середины 19 века пока не произошло окончание датско-немецкой войны и город не стал полноценной частью объединенной Германии. Строительство Кильского канала, который соединил Северное и Балтийское моря, позволило задышать Рендсбургу на полную грудь, а удивительная сохранность города несмотря на бурный ХХ век позволила сохранить шарм старинного немецкого города.
