Das letzte Mal Camping in Dänemark ist tatsächlich 4 Jahre her und somit haben wir uns riesig gefreut, endlich wieder mit dem Campervan nach Dänemark zu fahren. Impressions of the island of Als, Denmark
Right at the German-Denmark border is the Island of Als. On one side there is the Als Sund and on the other side there is the Als Fjord at the “Flensburg Förde”. The island is the 8th tallest Island of Denmark and belongs to the Sønderborg. Here live is rural. Agricultural and fishing are the most important source of income. It is a perfect place for a nice holiday in a Novasol holiday home. This island also offers nice beaches for example the beaches called “Kenaes, Drejet or the Kaerneland beach” This Island is also located in the middle of Denmarks sailing area. The city Sønderborg is the biggest city on this island and the castle was built in 1200. In the middle of the 16th century this castle was changed in to a Castle of the renaissance with four wings where today you can find a museum. Nearby the small town Augustenborg is located and its decoration was made by Michelangelo Taddei. The church in Kegnaes built in 1615 is a cute church and the smallest of this Island. In addition to the Castle Sønderborg there is the Nordborg Castleright next to a natural area at the “Nordborg Lake” Here you can visit a shipyard of Linden where you can see a “Hjortspringboot”. It originally was built in 350BC and it was found near “Guderup” in the Swamp. People who do ornithology as their job or hobby will love the Nature Resort Trillen near Høruphav. You can reach the island by car or ferries. The bridges als called Alssundbroen and Kong-Christian-Bridge. The Ferries start in Ballebro and Hardeshøj and end at the dansk mainland. A trip to the neighbor islands Fyn and Aero are also possible because of several transits every day. Slottet ligger på Nordborg Sø. Der er en smuk vandresti rundt om søen og skønne steder at dvæle i selve Nordborg.

????Nordborg Castle was built by my namesake Svend Grathe in 1150. Huet is housed in the lock of a boarding school. Visitors are allowed to visit the courtyard and the beautiful park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The castle is located on Nordborg Sø. There is a beautiful hiking trail around the lake and beautiful places to linger in Nordborg itself.

THE HISTORY OF SØNDERJYLLAND CASTLE
Sønderborg Castle was built at the mouth of Alssund about 800 years ago.
The castle has witnessed many events in the history of Denmark and the border region.
Most of the exhibitions cover the past 200 years of Danish national history seen from the Southern Jutland perspective.
The new exhibition is entitled “Southern Jutland from 1920 to the Present”.
Discover the 16th century princely chambers, including the Banqueting Hall and Queen Dorothea’s Chapel, the oldest remaining Renaissance space in the Nordic region.
Learn the story of King Christian II who was imprisoned in the castle for more than 17 years.

Sønderborg Slot har stået ved indsejlingen til Alssund i omkring 800 år og dannet ramme om mange begivenheder i Danmarks og grænselandets historie.

SCHLOSS SONDERBURG
Das Schloss Sonderburg steht seit etwa 800 Jahren an der Einfahrt zum Alsensund. Zahlreiche Ereignisse der Geschichte Dänemarks und des Grenzlands haben hier stattgefunden.
Der Schwerpunkt der Ausstellungen liegt auf der dänischen Geschichte der letzten 200 Jahre aus der Sicht Nordschleswigs.
In der neuen Ausstellung „Nordschleswig 1920 bis heute“ können Sie die Entwicklung bis in die Gegenwart verfolgen.
Doch auch fürstliche Gemächer aus dem 16. Jahrhundert gibt es zu entdecken, so z. B. den großen Rittersaal oder Königin Dorotheas Kapelle, welche Skandinaviens älteste erhaltene Räumlichkeit aus der Renaissance ist.
Und Sie können die Geschichte von Christian II. erfahren, der als Gefangener 17 Jahre im Schloss verbrachte.
