Sulle sponde del Po, CASALE MONFERRATO fu la capitale storica del Marchesato di Monferrato, la cui storia si fuse con quella del Piemonte e successivamente del Regno d'Italia. Quale capitale aveva si un castello, costruito dai Paleologi e ampliato in epoca rinascimentale dai Gonzaga a cui passò il controllo del marchesato, ma non ebbe mai una vera e propria residenza reale. Per questo motivo la città è anche soprannominata la capitale senza reggia.
Sono invece molte le dimore nobiliari, in gran parte di epoca barocca, che ancora oggi danno sfoggio delle proprie decorazioni interne. La struttura urbana, ancora impostata sulla planimetria romana, ha il cuore nella piazza quadrata che cambiò nome nel corso dei secoli, dove convergono le principali vie della città. Percorrendole si incontra la torre civica, emblema cittadino, il Duomo di Sant'Evasio dal caratteristico e insolito nartece d'ingresso, oppure la Sinagoga con annesso Museo Ebraico (che non abbiamo potuto visitare ma vi consigliamo).
Immancabile una tappa nella storica pasticceria Rossi dove acquistare i biscotti più tipici di Casale, i krumiri, il cui profumo si diffonde per le vie limitrofe.

Prestigious historical villa in the renowned hills of Nizza Monferrato
A stone's throw from the center of the famous town of Nizza Monferrato, we find this charming historic residence, completely and finely restored. The villa was originally called Casino, in reference to its ancient destination as the country residence of the Counts Corti di Bosnasco, whose family crest still bears. The villa is located within a park of over 3000 square meters and it is located on a hill overlooking the homonymous valley.The property was built at the end of the seventeenth century and it was enlarged during the eighteenth century when a wing was added, enriched by a loggia on the second floor and a veranda at the ground level. Its characteristic Piedmontese baroque design, sober but elegant, was not altered by the small changes made in the following two centuries, aimed at improving its residential use. La cucina Monferrina saprà deliziarvi con i suoi piatti semplici ma speciali a base dei prodotti del territorio. I suoi vini nobili, come il Barbera d'Asti, il Barbera del Monferrato, il Dolcetto d'Acqui .
Il Monferrato è una regione storica del Piemonte, quasi interamente compresa nella provincia di Alessandria ed in parte in quella di Asti.
Insieme alle Langhe e al Roero, il Monferrato fa parte della lista del patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO.
Il nostro viaggio parte da Alessandria, percorrendo la strada mezzo la campagna e colline dei vigneti ,verso MOMBARUZZO .Fermandoci ogni minuto per osservare le viste mozzafiato ,ci siamo indirizzati alla ricerca della prima panchina gigante .
Grandi Panchine, nasce da l’iniziativa BIG BENCH COMMUNITY PROJECT (BBCP) per sostenere le comunità locali, il turismo e le eccellenze artigiane dei paesi in cui si trovano queste installazioni fuori scala.
Qui è la bellezza di questo tipo di design. Oggetti che divengono iconici non soltanto perché sono stati spinti da un meccanismo di marketing, ma perché l’idea intrinseca era così seducente e così facilmente realizzabile che ha creato da sola le condizioni naturali per la propria duplicazione e diffusione.
Le Panchine Giganti sono spesso conosciute per immagini, ma una volta che si siede su una di esse e si prova la sensazione di godersi la vista come se “si fosse di nuovo bambini”, si vive un’esperienza intensa, da condividere con gli altri.

Poi la nostra avventura nel Monferrato e continuata per la strada verso Nizza Monferrato ,la tappa importante è:
Chiesa della Madonna della Neve,
(Str. Bricco di Nizza Monferrato, Nizza Monferrato AT)
La prima chiesa sorse sul sedime che un tempo ospitava il villaggio e il castello di Lanero.
L'attuale edificio è stato edificato nel 1757-1758.
È nota anche come Chiesa della Madonna del Bricco, dalla posizione sulla sommità di una collina, a ponente della città.
Poi ,prima che facessi buio ,ci siamo indirizzati verso Canelli .Ovvero verso L'antica Torre dei Contini
Un tempo segnava i confini della città. Si trova in uno punto panoramico della frazione Santa Libera.
Alla torre si può accedere liberamente attraverso una bellissima stradina immersa nei vigneti.
Dalla torre si gode di un incantevole panorama che per 360 gradi spazia su vigneti (prevalentemente a Moscato) a cui fanno da sfondo da un lato le Alpi e dall'altro l'Appennino ligure.
È stato realizzato un percorso pedonale con segnaletica indicativa per l’arrivo alla torre dai diversi punti della collina.
Si tratta delle località in cui Beppe Fenoglio ha ambientato un brano del romanzo “Il partigiano Johnny”.

When the Declaration of Independence was being signed this luxury villa was probably already getting its second coat of paint! Built in the 1700s it still retains original features in pristine condition.
Walk into the main entrance from the street and I promise you will look up and say 'Wow!' It's simply stunning. The arched brickwork is stupendous. The inner courtyard will still have you saying 'wow'. You'll imagine yourself here, entertaining guests at private parties or just enjoying the peace and tranquillity it offers in abundance.
The far end of the courtyard has two beautiful (yes, I did say beautiful) garages for your pride and joy classic cars, and motorcycles, or use them as a 'taverna' a place to enjoy wine tasting or even dining. There's an office and a bathroom on the courtyard level.
Going into the door for the main villa leads you to the beautiful staircase. On the first level are a total of 11 rooms. The main living room is stunning. The artwork on the ceiling is original but looks as if it was painted last week. And paintings are stunning - not the usual dark, depressing work of the Catholic age but beautiful scenes of maidens, towers and landscapes. It really is breathtaking. I promise you will hardly notice the beautiful oak flooring beneath your feet.
Moving around this level will introduce you to 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3 kitchens and another smaller living room. Every room is beautiful. The condition is exceptional. Our information is that the current owner lavished whatever needed to be spent to preserve it and get it into this shape.
The floor above is the former servant's quarters. There are 8 rooms but we need to confirm if they can be used as 'legal' living space. The rooms probably can be restored and used, but not for rental purposes.
Below the villa are large wine cellars.

Piedmont Farmhouse for restoration in beautiful location
This incredible farmhouse has been in the same family for years. It dates back 150 years and is ready for a new owner and a bit of love and dedication.
I just got the numbers:
The living space is a total of 197 sqm (2,120 sqft).
The cellar is 41 sqm (440 sqft)
The other building is 46 sqm (495 sqft)
Energy rating is G - no surprise there!
The location is wow..!! The road is calm, hardly used, and gives good access to the cute, historic local town. Cafe, restaurant - what more do you need? For anything else you drive 10 minutes to Asti or head south to Alba and in 25 minutes you're in one of the best small cities in Italy.
On the ground floor, there's a sort of living room with a fireplace, then a kitchen with access to the wine cellar. The wine cellar! Just great, a wonderful space. There's a bathroom and a long living room with a fireplace. All the ceilings are brick vaults.
The first floor has 4 bedrooms, all good sizes, and two back-to-back bathrooms. The structure looks good. We can get an expert and a builder to check it for you but no one will disagree this is about as good as it gets for location and potential.
There's land around the house, plenty of place for a pool or for growing your own healthy foods.
