Sg Udang Fishing Village: Fresh seafood market/ restaurant 1 hour away from Penang near Nibong Tebal

Sungai Udang is a fishing village on the mainland of Penang state near Nibong Tebal. It is about 1.5 hours away from Penang island by car. We drove there on a Wednesday morning to buy some fresh seafood and also to have lunch at Restoran HK 海景顺利海鲜.
The seafood market is at a dead end next to HK, so you may need to park a hundred meters or so before the dead end. Bring your own icebox or styrofoam container if you plan to buy seafood. Ice is available at the market. There are also lots of coffeeshops along the main road with laksa and other noodles. Mornings only, recommended time to reach is at 10.30am.

Nibong Tebal is one of the major towns of the city of Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia. Located at the northern bank of the Kerian River in South Seberang Perai District, it is the southernmost populated place of Penang. Nibong Tebal contained a population of 2,045 as of 2010.
Founded as an agricultural village, Nibong Tebal now houses light industries as well, including one of Malaysia's largest manufacturers of paper products. It also the headquarters of the Malaysian pulp and paper company, Nibong Tebal Paper Mill.

今天我们要到访的一家是非常有特色的餐厅名为“老厝Lao Chu ”，回到70年代的浪漫，听Aise女神说哦，这家老厝虽然营业不久，这家餐厅也很大胆开在高渊一条非常不起眼的小巷，但是因为这家餐厅设计非常复古和满满怀旧的摆设吸引到我们也是我们到来的原因之一，当然这里也是非常适合打卡的一个地方，还有就是这里不管是西餐，卤肉饭，咖啡等等的价钱非常合理！而且Aise女神，这一集就是偏偏要来，还说她的Myshape有分行在高渊，怕我们失踪不会路要带路，所以这一集很特别，我们北马搞怪团三个主持人一起出发啦！

陈家煜不怕火星炙脸，坚持火打废铁制刀篆刻印章，但凡耐得住寂寞就能找到生活热情，他的日常饮食如椰浆饭、彩虹手工板面以及螃蟹粥等，与他的工作形态有着异曲同工之妙——打铁要趁热、美食讲究新鲜，他吃椰浆饭必来上一杯老板现泡的拉茶才能振奋精神，他介绍的蔬食手工板面搭配南瓜酱，老板娘的突破创意别无分号；生猛翻滚的海鲜粥卖相澎湃，招呼外地人绝无冷场。他无论吃饭或打铁都满脸熠熠生辉，正好合了他的名字“煜”。
Tan Kae Hyeok is unfazed by the flying sparks to his face because he crafts knives for a living, which is related to his other job of carving Chinese seals. He likes food that’s prepared in a fresh and timely manner, just like the way he forges his knives. At the nasi lemak stall, he requests his tea to be made by the proprietor. The vegetable ban mee he likes is made fresh daily. His favourite seafood porridge stall uses fresh deep sea crabs boiled to perfection. He is discerning when it comes to food because he enjoys it, just like his crafts.
