Crossing the Eswatini border illegally.
One of the craziest things I have ever done.
2021 started crazy for me!
We took a little 4 day trip to Eswatini (former Swaziland) and because of wrong information from the government, we had to cross the border illegally. Through the bush. We met traffickers and illegal workers that cross the border on a weekly basis to seek employment in neighbouring South Africa.
We found Eswatini to be very welcoming and safe, however there is one big problem:
If you want to reach something in an economical sense (=wealth) you have to a) work for the government in Eswatini – which many refuse due to corruption – or b) work in South Africa.
The regulations are quite tough for immigrant workers though, so the only possible way to achieve something is – through the bush!
We went on that journey and experienced what it's like.
We went from Johannesburg, South Africa to Mbabane, Swaziland (Officially you now have to say Eswatini or eSwatini).
Day 1/3 in Eswatini.

So today, we continue with our experience at Phumula Guest House where we felt like queens! The service they gave us here was way beyond what we expected really! I can't even get to the food yáll! OMG! We couldn't stop eating! Bless that Chef! The activities they planned for us may seem simple but the perfection they put to preparing them gave us an experience that is out of this world. Just fit for queens!
Here's how we kept this trip budget friendly. We travelled as a group of 4 and split our costs such that we ended up paying around E 1.6K each for that super awesome experience!
