Naumburg / Germany is a town in southern Saxony-Anhalt.
The Naumburg cathedral is the most popular sight which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2018.
We start in our walking tour right there at the cathedral and explore the town center from its market square. We get out of the center and return passing the Nietzsche House. Our tour ends at the market square having a good impression of Naumburg.

Daniel Aßmann startet auf der Leuchtenburg bei Jena in Thüringen und reist vorbei an weiteren prächtigen Schlössern und Burgen, durch das nördlichste Weinanbaugebiet Europas und durch das Naturschutzgebiet Hohe Schrecke bis nach Sachsen-Anhalt. Während er auf dem Saale-Radweg das Pedelec bevorzugt, zieht er sich für den Werra-Unstrut-Radweg die Inliner an. Zur Fundstelle der Himmelsscheibe von Nebra ist Daniel Aßmann zu Fuß unterwegs; von Camburg bis zur Käthe-Kruse-Stadt Bad Kösen paddelt er mit dem Kanu. Und den Zusammenfluss von Saale und Unstrut erlebt er von der Fähre aus. Daniel Aßmann erkundet Jena, Naumburg und Freyburg und lässt sich von einer ehemaligen deutschen Weinprinzessin ihre Heimat zeigen – inklusive Weinproben.
Die Saale fließt 413 Kilometer durch Bayern, Thüringen und Sachsen-Anhalt. Als Rinnsal entspringt sie im fränkischen Fichtelgebirge, bevor sie im Thüringer Wald zu einem stattlichen Fluss wird. Die Saale ist der größte und bedeutendste Fluss in Thüringen und die Lebensader vieler kleinerer und größerer, historisch wertvoller Städte, die sich wie Perlen entlang des Ufers aufreihen. Kaum irgendwo in Europa gibt es eine so große Anzahl von Schlössern und Burgen entlang eines Flussverlaufs. Im Blütengrund bei Naumburg mündet die kleinere Unstrut in die Saale.
Saale-Unstrut ist eine hochmittelalterlich geprägte Wein- und Kulturlandschaft in der Mitte Deutschlands. Das Weinanbaugebiet Saale-Unstrut liegt am 51. Breitengrad und ist damit das nördlichste Weinanbaugebiet Europas. Es hat insgesamt etwa 850 Hektar Rebfläche, ist damit nicht das kleinste, aber es gehört zu den kleineren Weinanbaugebieten. Seit mehr als 1.000 Jahren werden hier Reben angebaut. In den Weinbergen stehen sogenannte Weinbergshütten. Ursprünglich dienten sie als Geräteräume, heute sind viele von ihnen zu Ferienwohnungen umgebaut. Viele Winzer schenken ihren Wein auch in einer Straußwirtschaft aus.

ANTIQUE CAROUSEL
According to Jim Miller at Story Land, the carousel was manufactured in the late 1800s by Friedrich Heyn in Neustadt an der Orla, Germany. The ride toured the Bavarian countryside for more than 60 years and was powered by steam.
Original features on the merry-go-round included 36 hand-carved wooden horses, two spinning tubs, two rocking boats, and several colorful and elaborately hand-carved columns and facades. The carousel was designed in sections to allow for easy dismantling and transportation between towns on horse-drawn carriages.
A Canadian carnival operator purchased the carousel around 1960 after seeing it in Germany at Oktoberfest. It was shipped to Halifax, Nova Scotia, and placed in a warehouse for storage. The machine was later moved to Toronto, where it operated at the Canadian National Exposition in 1965 and 1966.
Story Land acquired and installed the carousel in 1967 with a few modifications: electricity replaced the steam power; a new track was installed for the turntable; and the canvas top was replaced with a more permanent metal roof structure.

Apolda ist die Kreisstadt des mittelthüringischen Landkreises Weimarer Land im Städtedreieck mit Weimar und Jena.
Im Nordwesten des Stadtgebiets fließt die Ilm. In der Raumordnung des Freistaates Thüringen nimmt die Stadt den Rang eines Mittelzentrums ein. Apolda war von 1922 bis 1950 eine kreisfreie Stadt und hat seit 1952 den Status einer Kreisstadt.
Aufgrund der mehr als 250-jährigen Tradition des Glockengießens in Apolda ist sie bis heute überregional als „Glockenstadt“ bekannt. Bedeutend ist ebenfalls die Strick- und Wirkwarenherstellung, die seit ebenfalls mehr als 250 Jahren in Apolda betrieben wird. Ihren Aufschwung nahm die bis dahin kleine Ackerbürgerstadt erst, nachdem 1846 die Thüringer Bahn durch Apolda gebaut worden war. Die Textilindustrie wuchs rasant an, und Apolda entwickelte sich zeitweise zur wichtigsten Industriestadt in Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach.

Der Bergfried Park/Saalfeld Saale
Ein Besuch im Bergfried Park ist zu jeder Jahreszeit sehr sehenswert. Die große Parkanlage und die Villa Bergfried liegt auf einer Anhöhe im Süden Saalfelds.
Von hier hat man einen wunderschönen Blick auf die Stadt.
Sehenswert sind außerdem der schmuckvolle Innenhof, der Teepavillon, das Weiherhäuschen und der Japangarten.
Der Park und die Villa Bergfried gehören zu den beliebtesten Ausflugszielen in Saalfeld.
