Neunkirchen (Nine Churches) is a town in Austria. A village with the same name exists though in Germany and Switzerland. The town of Neunkirchen has 11,000 citizens and is part of the region of Lower Austria (Niederösterreich Österreich). Neunkirchen has two castles in its outskirts: Burg Seebenstein and Burgruine Turkensturz. Burg Seebenstein is a medieval castle on the hilltop outside the town. The foundation of the castle was laid in the early 13 hundreds but the castle was probably finished in the 17th century during which the latest restoration was made. The Castle of Turkensturz was built around 1532 and had to help defend Austria against the Turkish Ottoman invasion.

Hier werden Rekonstruktionen und Funde aus verschiedenen Epochen präsentiert, und dieser Ort selbst ist insofern einzigartig, als er sich gleichzeitig auf dem Territorium Frankreichs und Deutschlands auf beiden Seiten der Grenze zwischen diesen Staaten befindet.
Sehenswürdigkeiten
In Saarbrücken steht im ältesten Teil das gleichnamige Schloss. Dieses Gebäude wurde 999 errichtet. Das Schloss wurde im Barockstil erbaut, an das sich ein schöner Schlossplatz anschließt. Es war einst die Residenz des Prinzen Wilhelm Heinrich.
Ein großartiger Ort zum Wandern ist der Markt von St. Johann. Es ist ein alter Platz mit gemütlichen Restaurants und Handwerkervierteln.
